I love the trucks. My wife daily drives a '79 f350 crew cab, and I drive a '77 f250. My main 2 saws are a Stihl 034, and Mac 7-10. I just love the old equipment, and it's simplicity and reliability.
My parents got married in British Columbia in 1957. My parents drove across Canada to Nova Scotia for their honeymoon. Dad serenaded Mum with his favourite song "You get power by the hour with McCullogh chain saws!"
Were'nt times way more fun back then . We used to have so much workin , watchin grampa and dad smokin and drinkin a few and eating jerky and gettin dirty . everything now just seems boring . Cant do this , cant do that . no fun .
Amen to it rewiring your brain. It carried over into my work and home life. Once you have forgotten something or had a failure you learn to cope or repair. I'm now a Reuse, Repair, Retask or recycling nut. Patched tents with duck tape and small sewing kit, patched a tent pole with duck tape and a spare tent peg. Used rocks stuff sacks filled with sand to hold down a tent on Rocky ground. Now I carry homemade small sand bags just in case.
Your positivity is infectious and its wonderful to see a man so happy to get up and grab life and have a love for saws and wood like you do . Love watching the channel just puts me in a good mood
Bought my first big saw a Husqvarna 61 went through it and got it running man it’s fun all I’ve ever had is the small trimming saws it’s fun watching the neighbors come look when it’s running can hear it all over town lol
Shane Bisson. Not even just his happiness. His entire attitude . All day today, I've found myself, carrying my attitude and mindset completely different because I found this man .
Its all in the filling, that was the first thing I learned in forestry school back in 92. Still today I love to file a saw properly, even my 20cc saw is razor sharp. My felco dimond stone us the best thing I have found for blades, you can cut paper with gardening shears. You should try one.
My first saw was a second hand danarm, I pulled it to bits and rebuilt it perfectly only to sell it to buy my first forestry saw. Wish I had kept it now.
Thanks Buckin, one of your new subscribers here.... that old McCulloch was the first saw I used while working my first job at a boy scout camp. It was heavy! Another one of my jobs there was hafting the axe collection. Took me a while to figure out what I could have learned watching one of your vids for 5 minutes. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you found your way here, Richie, this is such a great community with wonderful people. Be kind and ,if you can, lend someone in need a helping hand ✌👍
I love the set up in the bed of the merc and as far as the 50grand for a truck being not u. That's pure humbleness and its appreciated belive me and if u wanna get rid of one of them saws I'll buy one from u. Just a thought. Stay humble brother
BUCKIN LOVE THE CHANNEL &Your tree felling capabilities, Your son is a Chip Off the Ol Block ...I believe Your Merc truck was built for a walk in camper from the factory, I had an 82 Chevy Silverado that was built about the same ...keep up the Great Work/Attitude. MISSOURI PAUL
I'm grateful too! Temporarily down to one hand, but it could've been worse and I'm thankful. Thanks to Buckin for keeping me positive! Argh! We fell down! The Mac lives!
I had this model of saw given to me I started to watch this channel to get some information on its identification .The saw in this video is an exact match and it is unbelievable how well it runs . Your channel is very informative. Thank You .
I love your positivity and your happiness is infectious! Appreciate keeping the Big Mac’s alive! I got my first Mac when I was 15. Old 10-10! Kept it going until I was 32! Wish I still had it! You rock sir!
Buckin Billy, that 1967 Merc probably has the Ford 351 Cleveland motor in it if the motor is a 351-C. The motors were made in Cleveland Ohio. They are great motors and are sought after for racing motors. I believe ford also made a 351 motor in Windsor Ontario. Just FYI.
Buckin’school is back. Lets get entertainment and learn some more usefull tip and tricks. Thank you for all this Buckin’. And hello everyone from France.
My best truck was a '68 Ford Camper special. It's essentially a 3/4 ton body on a 1-ton chassis. It had the marvelous 390, (which is the same block as the 352 & 360). There is obvious evidence between a 390 & 352 - 360; not by looking under the hood, (actually, as stock engines are concerned, telling a 352 from a 360, 390, 406, 427, or 428 about comes down to knowledge of Block numbers. They're all the same family.), but when ya have a 11-1/2' Camper on it & you're haulin' up the mountains, 390s have no problem maintaining 60 - 70 mph in top gear. 360s & all other small-blocks are the ones doin' 35 mph. By far, the best pullin' motor under 400 C.I. I ever had. I also had an '89 HD Ford with a 460 & 5-speed stick, a real horse that would out pull the deisels up until around 2008 or so. When I sold my '68 FURD truck, it had 240,000 plus on it, it would still smoke the 12x16.5s, & the engine still didn't use oil. (Great Motor, Great Maintenance). It's gonna be interesting to see if my newer Diesel will prove as reliable as that one. (This is my wife's G-m) Blessings to ya. Ron from Texas.
I get to spend a lot less time in the frustration zone you speak of because of your content and this community. I have saved a lot of headache and swearin' thanks to you and Ironhorse. That's not even to mention the incredible boost of positivity here! Second to NONE!
As for going thru wood time-wise never really interested me. As long as there was a good chain & it cut good it didn't matter. However some years ago I overhauled a 660 Stihl. That was a far bigger saw than I would've ever needed but my neighbor & I used to cut wood for exercise. At that time I burnt wood, he didn't but he was always cutting on his riverfront property. We're both in our 70s now, shadows of what we once were & it's telling. He had an approximately 20' hard maple down, 30" diameter. When I came down to try out the Stihl, he was workin' on that log with a 16" saw. His chain was dull & he was having a hard time. I started the Stihl & went thru that log in nothing flat. In less than 10 minutes it was chunked up, ready for loading. The people that were getting the wood bought my saw also, it was a good day! Glad I got rid of that saw, it used more gas than any saw I've ever owned. To cut wood you would've needed a 55 gallon drum of fuel. Bear in mind it was red-lined at 13500 with a 28" bar & it would cut! As for my neighbor he was always touchy about his chains & he never sharpened 'em the way I did. That day I made a believer out of him & he's been pissed I sold that saw ever since.
Billy I have to tell you I really appreciate your style and your sincerity. I came upon this channel because I had a large number of trees blow down a storm about a month ago and I was buying some bigger sauce to get the job done. I finally remembered that I have a pro Max 650 up at the cabin that I never put the carb kid in and ended up buying a pro Mac 610 in case I needed parts and I also a have a mcculloch that is so old that I don't even know what it is I will have to send you a picture space the just a big engine with a bar on it. I was brought to your site by looking at the Metallic videos. Great watching and I'll have to be sure to send you that picture when I get through the cabin. Jimmy
Hockey tape makes very Canadian wrap lol you know the deal on filing buddy and it applies to ALL of it with power saws. Gotta build it to work all together. Man its a long way from the 14 or 1500 of us way back when. Congrats buddy you've really hit your groove
Mr Bill. Hi from Oamaru south island New Zealand. Hey I'm first and foremost a lover of McCullough due to the fact that It's the first brand of saw I own since leaving high school. The pro mac 610 was my first saw which I own 4. I have a near minted 850 and a little 110 with 10 inch bar. Believe it or not I recently thought hey I'm sick of all these 70 to 90 cc saws and discovered the cool beauty of the really small saws under 36 cc like older top handles etc. Anyway the main working saws I operate in firewood is Makita - Dolmar which is the company make as straight professional / commercial saws which makes it easier to buy and cheaper as opposed to Stihl and Husky making 3 or 4 grades which makes it very difficult to choose in shop, this also increases the costs to manufacture too. Anyway my first intention was to say to you regarding your truck the best idiot proof thing you can do to it is go to a marine outboard or local diesel injection service shop and buy a Racor 'snapp' fuel filter and water trap which this will help you see in the site glass the dirt and water etc so you can drain it. This is a modern version of the English C.a.v - Lucas system that is used in the Massey Ferguson, Ford, Fiat tractors.
Right on buckin I'm happy for u that weaver is coming to buckin stock. I picked up another homelite super xl 12 automatic oiler 58cc runs like a dirty shirt n pulls a 24in bar like no body's business
Hay Luke ; Thanks Buddy Sure Put A Smile on B.R.'S Face with the ole McCulloch Eh ? Ain't Life Grand ! Hope New subs & Blues are having a swell day ! Love To All From The Overcast East Coast ! ATB T God Bless
Thanks to you Buck'in I just picked up (for free) a model 35 from late 50's only missing bar & muffler, has good compression love ya man ... the only good tree is a stump !
Hi Buckin and friends, Jason mentioned the beautiful trees that you have there Doug Firs gun barrel straight . I have a friend Lew who is a wooden boat builder I told him how they get cut into firewood , he sugested buckin could send us a 40 foot container load of 3 foot on the stumpers in exchange for the same in grey box and Ironbark that would burn the grate out in his heater , I said that's a great idea !
The 352 Fe engine is a bullet proof workhorse. A set of headers, or exhaust manifold with some allied truck mufflers, and you will be rocking the wood hauler!
Buck, my chevy is the same way. I bottomed out with a cord and a half on the bed and hit the header tube, now I sound like a jalopy when it used to sound like a dragster. LOL
That merc is just too cool!! I could only imagine, duals with 4x4 up front. Pretty much anyone that knows buckin knows the merc for sure! That 1-46 didn’t do too shabby! Love to you and the family buddy❤️
Just always enjoy your vids...have subscribed for a while now...had an old Mac rears ago...never forget that sound...luv it...just really enjoy cutting and splitting by hand...you have revitalized my wood enjoyment Buckin...really look forward to your exploits ..great people...like Iron Horse...keep on doing...
Thanks for a great video. The grind chain you have looks like a chisel filed chain or a goofy filed chain, both is filed with a flat file. Cuts like crazy. Love to see the video with the grind chain. Be kind friends 😍
i remember the sound ofthe mac of my friend''s dad saw helped them get in firewood back when iwas in elementary school jim had a splitter but i used a maul to split wood at their house was fun and had a great time doing it
Mate, it's awesome to see real vintage metal on the road rather than the plastic landfill that is coming off the assembly lines these days. Never get rid of her mate you'll regret it.
I pretty much only run veteran saws. I've gotten non-runners from the dump, given 5 or 10 bucks or been gifted them from frustrated owners. I know no bigger rush as when they cough to life. :)
25:36 We've been hit Buckin! We've been hit by the vibe that is MCCULLOCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol! Thanks for picking us up, both in the camera, and in spirit! Love you all! Everyone have a great week!
HI BUCKIN the old school V-8 engines if U want 2 know what they are start it up and let it run then check the end of the exhaust pipe and see if it is turns white IVE only seen a few V-8 engines like that 😊OMG 5 3 2O23
the carburetor off of a ford 302 motor fits perfect on a 352 i did it and got great mileage with plenty of power and i put a 4 speed one ton transmission in it awesome truck
Thank you Buckin ! Utube alarm on my phone went off so I knew it was time to take a break and watch your video ! ....great video now back work for me !lol...hmmmm where'd now where I leave that dam ! Mower ...lol..
The opening ad series is for Stihl dealers and why NOT to go to a big box store. That's hilarious considering I walk into our local dealer with a 1960 Stihl 1106 looking for a starter pawl and they walked me to the door saying they can't get parts for old junk. This was an early Contra or Lightning now called the 090 made from 1958-68 ish. Thank god for the internet and not having to rely on dealers.
Hey Buckng ; Thanks Friend for your great Utube videos !!! I had to retire a year early as a Die _sel mechanic after a on the job injury in the US ! Mn. After A greedy shop owner Oh for profit management instead of employees health or welfare! But after working 47 years of Full time work !!! The insurance Co. denied coverage ? I wish that I could send you pictures of the 100 + yo woods leaning over and towards my house !!! Please send more detailed instructions to fall oak & elm uphill on a North hill ... for a old guy w/ a broken & Floating L5 Lower Back problem Thanks for your great videos I will try to find you info from a old boss that after retirement opened a blacksmith shop !
I have about 20 eager beavers. I thought at first there was only 1 or 2 models of them.... WRONG.... lol..... There are probably 20 different models of them. I just picked one this last summer and it has anti- vibe handle on it.... didn't know that existed until I saw that one. My very first saw I owned was a 16" 2.0 120 model. It still runs to this day... I got when I was early 20's. I am now 65. These suckers refuse to die.... lol. I now own about 20 McCullochs, most are eager beavers. One even has the onboard sharpener on it... takes a special chain which I haven't found yet.... but I haven't looked very hard for that.... I just like to have it in my collection of them. I did however find and buy a replacement stone for it on eBay. Gotta love eBay man...!!
How you doin today Buckin! Havin a great day today with the grandkids and sending kind thoughts to everyone here! Have a good one and be safe. Love yinz.
I own a mac 380,n15,2-minimacs,wright reciprocating saw(SAWSALL FROM HELL 1.25CC)and a lombard comango also just was given a 1956 david bradly , I had them all running.
Hey to all bucking friends best home made wd 40. Is 50% automAtic trans fluid full synthetic and 50%. Acetone. Works better than pb blaster and all the rest
I stop using a file on my chains. Alway use bench angle chain grinder. Keep that pitch and angle on point. Use to run four chains to a bar, over 100 cords a year with no problems. When I first started I was using a file to sharpen my chain and I got the angles off and when cutting the cain pulled too much in the groove on the bar it started making slack in the bar to one side. then you start cutting to the side and binding up in the wood. After I figured out the problem I had no problems after that. Let me know what you think. Have a good week buddy. Take care and be safe out there.
All you people and your loving positive comments are having an effect on my life and is the fuel that keeps me putting videos out there Hass to be a reason and you guys gals women and children are that reason thank you all so much

Hi Buckin’ ! Love the Merc pickup! Good job on the old McCulloch...
Hai i from malaysia and alway view video, the best for learn
New subscriber. Thanks for the warm welcome!

I appreciate these comparison videos between the still and Oregon. thanks Buckin
Hey brother did I just see a Honda fit we hav 2 of them best damn car we lov them

1 of my favorite small chainsaws is still the McCullough Eager Beaver
Lol I'm going to pickup a free 1 of those in a couple hrs
I have a EAger Beaver! It’s okay !

I live in a small town in INDIANA I am 55 And i have run saws all My life
I stop using a file on my chains.
Hey buckin! Just showing some love keep spreading kindness brother😋
