You are a legend. I've struggled with my confidence in football for many years now and this video has really helped me out. The one thing that kills me though is when i let the team down, no one is gonna be happy in that situation.
Manders Samuel confidence and thinking positively .. also getting in "the zone" helps.. where nothing else exists but that moment on the field being 110% concentrated
Your still in control I’m a centre back and love receiving the ball in my defensive third to find teammates or pick out a killer pass to start attacks I sometimes move into the 6 role so I think this helps me too practice playing around in training and I guarantee it will get easier in matches
This is so me. I had a nightmare of a game yesterday. My touch was out, out of breath and thinking about defenders coming behind me. How do i control all these negative thoughts? Usually during training and friendlies i am very confident in what i do. Once I play in a tournament full of crowds , these things just happened. Help i need to be more composed !!!!! And not to forget when I see players with massive physical I'm scared to play against.
Dude same thing for me I had a horrible game yesterday and just kept thinking negative thoughts I was so nervous of messing up more and I even missed a good opportunity of a goal which just tipped me over the edge
i dont freeze up but i begin to doubt my ability when bigger players run towards me when i have the ball. It leads to me making a stupid mistake and further doubting myself. I always get nervous before games but thats normal, if you feel nervous before dont worry. Im not unfit but i could definitely be a lot fitter and therefore i start to lose my breathe and panic. Breathing and remembering that it is just a game really helps calm you down, this could lead to you making a good simple pass and feeling positive about yourself again. Just remember to enjoy the game and play how you know how
Thanks for this. I was used to practising by myself, so never really felt any pressure on the ball, and therefore I had poor composure. This video will hopefully change that so I can become a more calm and better player :)
Worse thing is when you start to play at a new pitch with some new guys that are very good, your confidence deteriorates and feel like dont even want the ball because of fear giving it away. It sucks

Also I wonder if you could make a video on simple skill moves to beat a defender in the corner. That would be very helpful for me and surely others. I appreciate your time in all the effective videos that you make. Thanks!
i really can relate to this.. in friendlies or training, i can do everything.. dribble, tackle, run, shoot, pass, through pass.. but in tournaments, all my abilities went down.. i cant even make simple passes.. they say when u get more experience, things will improve.. but it hasnt for me.. im having mental block n let my teammates down.. hopefully i can follow this advises.. because, watching it is easy, but implementing it on the field is another thing..
This problem was with me and my coaches are really worried about my problem of bringing negative thoughts in a big match but now I will be positive and confident in a big match
Thanks for your video. I liked your last advice regarding controlling and passing right away to teammate. Hopefully, that can naturally teach you to turn towards space and support and possibly start to dribble and do more with the ball. I’ll start trying this out. Cheers!
I have this problem when I play football because I am quite a fat guy people make fun of me a lot and especially when th goalkeeper passes to me because I am a right back I freeze up and when the people tackle me everyone shouts at me and makes me sad I am confident in school because the people aren't rude if I make a mistake but I. The club the coach is very strict and makes me do laps which makes me very embaressed
Alien Gaming you have do loose weight first if you dont want to get bullied. you have to do the work and stop being effected by the ways you choose to eat. You're choosing the life style you play and live. If you want to change that then show it to them don't wait for them to tell you. !!
you have to lose weight first, and afterwards, train SMART and HARD. HARD as in work hard and SMART as in training properly and training correctly. And if the people you play with are still dicks, i guess you should play football somewhere else.
I'm fat too but I'm so lucky because I have some friends on my team but I still get people laughing when I run and making fun of me behind my back but you know what I do- if we are running I run faster if we do squats I do more and sure they still hate but if they give me a dirty look I give them one right back then walk away. Also I use my size as an advantage in defense I'm like a wall .
Thank you so much. My dream one day is to become a professional soccer player and really wish if I could make it in the World Cup and you have motivated me:) thank you
For those struggling with weight, the main problem of every over-weighted is nutrition, your weight is heavily based on what you put down your stomach. Do not let others lower your confidence even if they mock you, overcome it.
I’ve seen some guys that are super obese that pay flawlessly and never lose a ball .. but yes if I were to gain a ton of weight I couldn’t do it so your right
immaSavage Bruh visualize scenerios vividly and as detailed as possible. our subconscious mind cant tell the difference. if u repeatedly visualize challenges and picture the solution in motion it will be saved in ur muscle memory. it requires trust in how amazing the human mind is. im always a 2.0 a 3.0 version of myself after a long injury cuz u get to sit back watch games maybe pay attention to details in play fifa n create mental scenerios n have it go how u would ideally wish to play in real life. u become what u think. ps, read pyscho-cybernetics its a book on the human brain.
The question is I started to learn to play football less than a year ago, although I did a lot of practice with a friend of mine who was a youth football coach, I still can't follow up my team mates who have played football since their childhood, they are quite skilled and experienced knowing how to handle different situations on the pitch and then acting accordingly fast. I feel I play with wrong guys, perhaps playing with more beginners would be more helpful to me particularly in terms of gaining confidence. But your advice is very useful, thx
I coach youth 11v11 soccer. I see this a lot, and one of the big reasons is that coaches practice sessions are NOT simulating the game well enough. On the field, you get the ball and at least one player is rushing at you in what looks like a stampede. I rarely do passing or dribbling sessions in practice without opposition. Get the kids used to playing against other players, not cones. Coaches use cones because they want the kids to not lose the ball in practice while they are learning. What I do is have defenders play 50%, then 75%, then 100%. 50% means you go all out, but don't kick at the ball or use physical contact. 75% means you go all out and kick at the ball or use physical contact, one, but not the other. 100% means 100%.
You should never be nervous. Think of it like you are a star and can't wait to shine. When they sing your name after a great goal you know you can do it. Go to drop-in indoor soccer for training, it's fast pace, you will not have time to get nervous.
I'm happy to hear I can inspire you in a positive way. Please let me know if there is any other way I can help. If you want to return the favour please remember to LIKE and SHARE my videos. It really helps me grow my channel. Thank you! You are amazing.
I play on Sunday league full of adults..what they do to keep composed and calm is they smoke half a cigarette before game and the other half in half time...I seen them doing it for years..and there stamina does not go down at all and the play very very well...I’m not a smoker so I don’t do that...but if any of you smoke y’all might want to try that
Don't cigarettes are addictive, have many harmful chemicals, and they aren't a permanent fix for anxiety. I recommend trying meditation before a game. It helps me calm my thoughts and clear my mind.
The solution is simple...you need play time and the rest follows...believe me as I went through this and at the moment you would not dare take the ball from me....all in all play time matters a lot
Congratulations! That is amazing. Keep going this is only the beginning for you. I can't wait to hear more from you in the future. Continue improving everyday and big things are coming to you. I'm proud of you. Well done.
I’m a wing back and require lots of endurance and I start to panic when to run, is the guy at left wing quicker, better, stronger than me. I think what I and a lot of people need to do is to enjoy the game, be more independent.
When u r under pressure remind yourself that soccer is all about enjoying ... Enjoy dribbling , passing , etc.

kingof206 and confidence comes from preparation man, prepare to the point where you have no doubt about your skill
I get so nervous. One thing that helps is making the first 5 passes successful. Even if they’re easy. And staying on your toes.
I Played on friday couldnt string five passes in a row , after watching this. On saturday morning i got an assist...good video.
It is harder for defenders to keep their composure
