    People don't know that Oscar's are very good eating when you filet them out of the skin. Alot of meat for a pan fish. Keep catching!

    When I ran an aquarium fish store, Oscars of that size would have sold for a hundred bucks!

    Yup they are Oscars! I raised Chicklids & Africans for 35 years and I Loved them ALL. I envy you guys in Florida Fishing is Awesome and they are everywhere!

      Velvet Cichlids.
      Used to catch a few dozen babies in a scoop from my backyard canal system and sell to aquarium/tropical fish store for gas money.
      Caught lots of big ones but never ate one.
      Was too spoiled catching and eating seafood when it was plentiful.
      But Oscar's are beefy!

    Just found your channel and I’m liking the vibe you got going, I’m glad ur enjoying your life outdoors and fishing, i retired from the service and getting in a lot of time fishing to make up for times I couldn’t fish much it sure is relaxing. That bridge was very sketchy because of the tiny shoulder, stay safe out there all it takes is one person not paying attention and then we wouldn’t be able to enjoy your videos, stay safe brother.

    I fished the trail for 20 years driving back and forth for work between Tampa and Miami.
    It can be a real all or nothing venue, and when it switches on or off it seems to effect everywhere all at once.
    Next trip bring some small poppers with ya, and my absolute favorite lure for the trail the Mirrolure 4M (ultralight twitch bait) I call it my Tamiami Candy. Great for the Tarpon and Snook. I've got so many spots along that canal, but none are secret all are easily found.

    Happy fishing Friday JC sending you a big hug 💙💙🎣👍🏼 JC I have a recommendation for you for your next fishing and cooking/ over night camping video your should try a Savory Grilled Peach Salad with Arugula and Toasted Walnuts this are the ingredients 1 peach quartered, pit removed
    1 tsp canola or grapeseed oil
    4 cups fresh baby arugula washed and spun dry
    1/4 cup toasted walnuts
    2 oz goat cheese crumbled
    1/4 cup sliced red onion
    2 tbsp white balsamic ginger vinaigrette I loved the ending 👍🏼🎣

    Myself and my son who's name is JC and is 26 are gathering as much info on everglades fishing as we can get in hopes of a trip for ourselves soon. We were watching your current series and the same question comes up between us. Seriously just how bad are the bugs? I myself have usually been ok when it comes to all but noseeems my son on the other hand seems to draw every bug inside a mile just like his mom.

    • @johncallaghan8854
      @johncallaghan8854 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Depending on wind and heat they are bad! Much worse at sunrise and sunset.
      But a bug net over your head long sleeve shirt and pants and sungloves and you're all set.

    Lift that handle on the pan!!!

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks John, I didn't because the pan handle causes it to tip off balance unless there's weight in the pan to keep it upright. I had a camera in one hand and pouring oil into the pan with the the other. I couldn't hold the pan upright with the handle deployed. After I put oil in I guess I could have tried to put the handle in position, but I had the burner fired up and it wasn't safe to do so.

      When cooked the meet is firm and doesn't have any hint of mud flavor or strong fish flavor. It's a very mild taste like crappie, but firmer than crappie. I think they are delicious.

      The road is 41 near CransTown. Head east on 41 from the intersection at Cranstown, there aren't many bridges going west. For power stations I have two that I like. The videos are linked below of my reviews on them. If I had to pick one I'd go with 767 for more power...
