I know right, I literally just sat in game looking at everything in the distance like "wtf this is the most disgusting place I've every seen. The music makes you feel like you REALLY don't belong there.
I know there are people who are critical of Hayden's lore dumps in the Nekravol levels, but those added to this OST made me feel like I was fighting in a heavy metal album cover come to life. Brutal.
People don't underatand how much real bass guitar sound is way more eerie than just bass effects like in Doom 2016. I'm so glad Mick was allowed to go full green light on Doom Eternal and make actually what he does the best.
When the level opened up and Isaw the fire and all the set pieces and this starts playing I had goosebumps. Awesome design. Also great music for reading spawn comics.
Todd McFarlane better be making that Spawn film with Jamie Foxx and Jeremy Renner. So much potential as I loved reading the comics and watching the HBO show back in the day. Dark af.

13:53 - 18:54 my favorite part. Goes out all the way to you rippers and tearers. I keep on imagining the Spider Mastermind back with revenge in a DOOM sequel or two, or perhaps even a spin-off. And this plays. Say in a sequel of a sequel of Doom Eternal. As of now, I feel that this would also fit a final boss battle somewhere in HERETIC anyone?

@@HipiO7 ARC Complex was good, but I feel like the combat encounters in Nekravol are better and way harder, some of the hardest in the game. (Fitting since it is a later level). I haven't beaten the game yet but it took me a while to get through the level on UV.
This. THIS LEVEL. This captures every DOOM game’s hell feeling and even some of Quake III’s hell into one adrenaline fueled level and one of the best songs in id Software history.
Mick Gordon did such a good job capturing the feel and sound of hell in this game. iD also did a good job with all the hell levels in this game. Massive upgrade from 2016's hell.
I remember , when I did my first doom eternal run , and when I landed to Nekravol. I have seen the titan and the tower, heard this riff 0:00 I thought "Damn , this one is evil! Much more than any other I heard before. Badass." Several minutes later , I heard the second one 9:52 "My god , that is scary. Reminds me the fire and the pain. Yeah. The music in this level is awesome, I love it , this is true Hell, and how it would look if it was real" And at the end , I discovered the 18:54 That was the sickest thing I ever heard in my fucking life. This is all the evil , the pain , the fire and the fear brought by Hell. Hands down , I didn't think that was possible to do an audio description of Hell as it should be, in all the nightmares. And god damn , this dude did it. Nekravol is my favorite map , and doom eternal ost was just awesome...
Everyone talking about those "ambience riffs" 18:54 , but I am here for those catchy hardcore rythms/breakdowns and guitars, the real protagonists of this ost: 6:42 7:13 14:00 14:47 Mick was a genius in this ost, he puts a lot of stuff and effects going on in the background that makes the track so dynamic.
I've been mouth-guitaring the riff starting at 16:03 for days during quarantine. Probably looked and sounded like a lunatic. Thanks for helping me finally place where it came from.
Chad Mossholder. His work on this project is beyond my comprehension and should be elevated to heaven and to hell. The task he was given would be impossible for most people, but he delivered in an awe inspiring way. There was a big drama and I might be wrong but my take was that Mick Gordon didn't finish mixing the OSTs in time but Bethesda was obligated by law to deliver the albumn it promised to consumers on time so they brought in somebody else to slap something together as fast as possible and thats why theres some great stuff next to some stuff that sounds worse than the game rips. Real shame..
For some reason I keep on imagining A - having the boss of Nekravol be a Dragon, or the Mother Demon and B - having to see Atlans Resurrected and Raised from the Dead accidentally by King Novik, causing both Atlans and Titans fight each other at places which are 1 yard away from Nekravol or further, making Mayhem! UH-OH! [Of course, there will bad weather the time stuff like that goes on et al] Because that track at 13:53 sounds fitting for a boss battle at Nekravol, especially if one re-arranged it a little-bitsy bit more. (Too bad there is no boss in this level in this game. Big Pity.)

Maybe it'd be me against Azmodan or Diablo or anyone else as well while still being in HELL. It would also fit the tone for me when - still in the Underworld - fight against the Wailing Host, Satan or Samael. Even a Fire Demon like Carnach or Elchulus the Fire Dragon. Although I consider the Atlans and Titans in the Doom Universe as utter bosses for a fangame like "QUAKE: THUNDERDOME". I'd love to use that track for that purpose. Maybe that track would also fit the tone for me when I'm up against even worse like - the Cyberdemon, or even worse yet - The Spider Mastermind; even a Marauder, or perhaps Samur Maykr, but downwards within the Surface of the Earth. (Or somewhere in Lazarus Laboratories IDK)
The last one is the most talked about but this riff was amazing too, and it plays right at the start of the level. I remember staring at the Titan in the lava and looking around while this is playing thinking to myself "wow this ambiance is incredible. Hell will show no mercy"

At first I thought Nekravol was just another Doom level, I fairly payed attention to the lore sprinkled throughout the level, same for Urdak. But then I decided to read what actually happens with this Unholy agreement. *Nekravol and Urdak are fucked up, big time.*
Don't think its gonna happen but I've been expecting a sequel to Quake 4 with soundtracks/ambient sounds similar to that of this game. This kind of soundtrack would also be great for a game that takes place in "hell" but in a game you don't play as someone that literally rips and tears the enemy or someone that is the only thing the enemy fears, because all these make the game less "scary" and kills the brilliant map design & soundtrack. Don't get me wrong, the game is good and it was not meant to be scary anyway.

Nekroval Part 1 - Ambience Theme is the absolute best in my opinion. It truly visualizes the ruthless eat-or-be-eaten culture of hell.
It's actually frightening. Event Horizon movie, kind of similar to DOOM, has some terrifying aspects of hell.

Same here man! It's a random unrelated source but the only other guitar riff I have heard that sounds this good is in Super Buu's theme song from DBZ.
