  • A video highlighting some considerations as I viewed the Nexadyne from afar.
Also, try to establish what you're looking for; what don't you like about your current mic.
    Do you need more detail?
Would a lift in the highs help? (try eq first)
Is it too muffled in the bass?
    Insufficient bass?
    Thunderous handling noise? (handle carefully!)
Intrusive pops? (use foam and/or see my video on pops/plosives)
    Excessive sibilance? (try eq first)

I just got the wireless capsule and used it compared to my Beta 87a and I really noticed a difference. Crystal clear high and mids and warmer bottom end than the 87. Also didn’t need as much eq, as advertised. I love it.

These were obviously brought out to compete with the Sennheiser ND435 and 445 as Shure were getting somewhat ‘trounced’ by them - it would great to see/hear a comparison between them

I purchased the cardioid version last week & used it on a gig last weekend. I personally love it. Having used the venerable SM58 for years, the Nexadyne has a much reduced proximity effect. At the bottom of my vocal range, I tend to move in to the mic to increase volume. This mic seems to be much less boomy than the 58’s. I always love your reviews. Thanks You!

Everybody should try the Miktek PM10 (tom mic) on voice. Super similar to the M88 but with a little more life… has an american transformer and on sale now….this is a vocal sleeper!!

Tried the 8/C, cleaner and clearer and possibly sibilant sound. Well behaved plosive rejection but without low end authority! Returned it! Better than thr SM58 but very similar to the e835, beautiful mic, no foam in the grill… a finer mesh inside the outer mesh, not sure all this research is worth the price!!!

Interesting, thanks for your input. I was disappointed to the the low-end curtailed in the frequency plot and knew it wouldn't work for me.

I need a new mic lol. I have a Beta 57, and a Beyer Dynamic V70. I do like the V70 but it needs replacing and as itsd noise handling isnt the best Im looking at others. Ive considered the MD431 and teh MD445 - along with the KSM8 and this new NXN8. I like a little air on my vocals which is probably why I like the V70 - though its possible a little too much - but I also like the heft the V70 has in the lo end. any thoughts?

Yes, developers should include proximity traces. Either that, or show just one trace at 1 inch.
I hope you’ll get one for testing and previewing.

Do you by chance have any thoughts of the Line Audio CM4?

I own both the KSM8 and the new Nexadyne. I just did a comparison with these two, and also included a SM58, Sennheiser 835, the Mohave Dynamic, and a Telefunken M80. There is too much proximity effect in the Mojave and the KSM8. I female voice can benefit from the extra low end in those 2 microphones, but over all it too much unnecessary low end. Considering as both a singer and a soundman, I always have a high pass filter on vocals mics at least from120Hz. I have a deeper voice and the Nexadyne was the best sounding, and clearest in a band mix. The M80 was the next best for me. I compared them all by singing several different songs that covered different ranges of my voice.

    Hi.
I recently saw a comparison with the V7 and I was sad to see this new Shure being better than my beloved.. 😢
Please reassure me with your testing..

There has NEVER BEEN IN THE HISTORY OF SINGING!! been a singer that constantly sings 2 feet away from the microphone (unless you are an opera singer)
