Great video Ben, I bought this car a couple weeks ago and am so happy its the car i bought. I looked at other cars like the corolla hybrid and others but it was between the Elantra and the Corolla for me. The Elantra has more trunk space and its very noticeable and you can set the trunk to open automatically if you stand near it for three seconds with key fob. Also you have more room inside the car and the design also looks better. The Elantra does have rear seat air vents but they are under the front seats on the floor and not adjustable or accessible they are on when the floor vents are on. The screen and display is also great on the Elantra. And the different drive modes and all technology in the display and the ease of use. Try all the features. It will keep you in your lanes and steer for you and keep you from hitting things in different safety modes it has mirror safety warnings also and its all standard and when the rear window defogger is on it also heats the side mirrors. also there is a little light for the mirrors in the visor but the light is on the headliner. I tell you these things because they were things that were not listed as standard or explained to me. The size of the windows are larger in the Elantra and it makes a big difference in driving pleasure. Also the Glass in the Elantra was sharp and clear the Corolla seemed to have distortion towards the bottom of the glass in the windshield. The Elantra also drives much smoother and its much faster and has a sporty feel and gets better MPG I average 48-50 mpg almost always no mater how I drive. If I drive in sport mode fast and aggressive I get 46 MPG or so. If I drive and pay attention to MPG and use foot pedal skill I've averaged 67 MPG over about 50 miles of stop and go traffic on a fairly flat HWY. The car does really good in stop and go slow traffic. But like I said no matter how traffic is normal driving is almost always like 48.7 MPG. At dealer with 16 miles on it the MPG only said 23 MPG you have to put a hundred miles on it or so before you see the glory. I have 2700 miles on mine You can also look at current trip MPG, since last fill up MPG and overall average MPG. Also you can find in the display how to allow car to start coasting sooner this also increases MPG. Also the Elantra has a better warranty then Toyota and 3 years or 36000 miles of free maintenance. Better then Toyotas free 2 years or 24000 miles. This seems to be way more of a car then the Corolla. I suggest you test drive them both. I bought mine here in Los Angeles and the dealer also give a lifetime warranty as long as the car is maintained as to the service book. I like the plastics on the Elantra doors it looks great and is far more durable and easier to clean then soft materials. The front seats don't have pouches on the back to access from the back seat but I bought custom seat covers from Amazon that fit perfect and feel like leather and do have the pouches and so far everyone has thought the covers were original interior. I also bought custom floor mats from Amazon. If you get custom covers or mats for this car make sure you get them for the blue hybrid because the fit is different. My car is a 2024 Elantra Blue Hybrid in Amazon Grey color and Black interior. Great color combo I would not leave a comment here if I wasn't very impressed with this car

Was your Elantra a limited?
I've got a 23' blue and have got great mileage. The wife drives it now and drives a lot on highway so I kinda wish I had got the limited non-hybrid as it's fairly economical on gas as well. Still love the car though.
If Toyota keep thinking like this , Hyundai and Kia will win in the near future .

My 2023 Elantra hybrid is supposed to get 53 city/56 highway. I haven't seen 40 mpg yet.
The fuel tank is 11 gallons. In Texas, it costs me about $25 to fill my tank and it'll last me like 550 miles of mixed driving. Thats on the '23 Elantra Hybrid limited, which is rated at 49 city, 52 highway
The DCT is the reason this was taken off my short list when I was looking for a car (specifically hybrid). Hyundai’s DCT is trash idk why they insist on using them in non performance cars when they aren’t needed, a simple automatic or eCVT would do just fine for a hybrid.
lol DCT is fine. You know elantra hybrid is using motor at low speed right? What hurts DCT more is low speed and hybrid fixes that issue.
@@wulongchai feathering the throttle helps when accelerating from a stop, makes taking off and low speed driving way smoother
Elantra is a great car in any trim, toyota won't give you near as much as the Elantra, not even remote start on the fob good review Ben.
As a 4-time Hyundai driver (4 leases since 2013), I fail to see the logic in Hyundai selling a Hybrid Elantra and a Hybrid Tuscon in the U.S. but NOT a Hybrid Kona??? That's just crazy! Am I still considering Hyundai lease #5 later this year? Don't know (looking also at a Toyota hybrid), but would jump at the chance for a Kona Hybrid if they imported it into North America and not just to the EU.
I've always looked at hyundai terribly because their older designs / makes were very basic and plastic.
Now i want one!
I'd say go for the 5th, they seem better than ever atm :)
Toyota are the kings of hybrids with over 3 decades experience . It will be more reliable and higher resale value

A 16" wheel to you is a "very small wheel"?? 16" is the sweet for ride comfort and smoothness. Anything bigger is pure aesthetics and fashion.
Plus price for tires goes way up
My '19 miata has 16" stock wheels and they're indeed small IMO
smaller wheels on a hybrid mean better MPG because it charges the battery while the wheels are slowing down and the smaller the wheel the more times the wheel will complete a revolution in any distance and that means more charge for more time in Electric mode.
Probably trying to get 15 inch wheels from other cars. Even better mpg and lower tire prices.

Hyundai Elantra N hybrid would be the best.
For exterior design, I’d go with Corolla, for interior design, I’d go with Elantra
Eltra is way cooler than a corolla.
Even from outside, the Elantra just looks like an upscale premium car. Corollas are preferred because of their reliability, not design or aesthetics.
Don't let the video fool you and of coarse its subjective but that Prius only looks good on video but in person....I felt underwhelmed. It's a nice looking car nonetheless considering how looked before.

It’s been so long since the Hyundai Elantra got a redesign from Hyundai Motors and when I think of the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid or any Hyundai Hybrid isn’t Hybrid in Hyundai’s terms as blue?
It was a whole new generation of car in 2021 which is 3 years ago and I just had a facelift this year so I don't know what the hell you're talking about and I have no idea what you're talking about saying it isn't a hybrid it's a blue or something I don't know what the f*** you mean

My Toyota Hybrid gives mileage of more than 60 MPG as minimum unto 70 plus at times
my 2023 elantra hybrid had 69MPG after ran 50 miles that day.

I have had elantra hybrid for 6 months now, 0 issues. Fill it up 50$ once every 3 weeks and i drive everyday. Safest car i have driven

yes they build great vehicles that break down, catch on fire, and are easily to steal. While toyota and lexus have been making hybrids since day one and are very reliable so there trash garbage.

I just traded in my 2021 Corolla Hybrid for a 2024 Elantra Hybrid and it feels like an upgrade, honestly. And the 2024 Elantra Hybrid is in the top 5 of the most safe vehicles on the road. It is also showing better mpg than the Corolla. I wouldn't bet your money on Toyota and Honda anymore when it comes to ruling the hybrid market.

I realize that its totally subjective, but I'm not a fan of the Elantra's styling. I think the Corolla looks better both inside and out. I actually like the simplicity of the Corolla's console and its analog gauges, The controls on the Elantra look jarring and ugly to me. The harsh mixture of sliver, matte and glossy finished plastics makes it look overly busy and cheap. It effectively screams "Look at me!" and when I do, I don't like what I see.

As an owner of a 2016 Prius C, 2018 Prius, and 2023 Elantra Hybrid, I don't believe the Hyundai hybrid is a better hybrid, just more affordable. I have put roughly 1000 miles on the Elantra and still haven't managed to hit 40 mpg. We had a week of temperatures below freezing and struggled to average 30 mph with a major focus on driving for fuel economy. In 40-50 degree days, I'm averaging 39 mpg per tank. Both Prius models have averaged right around 50 without focusing on driving. They get a little better when it's warm, and a little worse when it's cold. The Elantra is a little roomier and you get more options for less money. If you live in a warm climate and are good with 40 mpg, the Elantra Hybrid should be fine.
2/5/24 update. The weather has warmed up to 40s for highs and I'm averaging mid 40s mpg, now.
Then you drive like shit I constantly get 43 mpg and above. I have put 20k miles.

The old Toyota Prius is of poor quality, like an amusement park toy. The humming sound when the motor runs is quite annoying, and wind noise, other engine noises, and wheels rolling on the ground are all annoying. The Hyundai Elantra is an economical vehicle for the common people, but comparing it to the Prius is quite rude. The Hyundai Elitera Hybrid is quiet, safe, and quite economical. The Toyota Prius is the worst car in everything except fuel economy.
I won't buy a car with touch screens. They are dangerous and I hate them. Gauges only.
You’ll eventually get left behind. Manufactures will lean towards screens.

I agree. And Toyota hybrid is not as complicated as Hyundai's or Honda's ones where both having DCT gearbox too. Toyota's system being simpler proves to be much more reliable and proven too.

I have been driving a 2019 Ioniq Hybrid-Blue with no issues have done 625 miles, would put it head to head against the 2019 Prious Eco - both have about the same fuel economy
I would totally disagree. Hyundai and Kia has literally took the hybrid and EV space by storm. Its Ioniq line is already competing side by side with Tesla. Where's the Toyota and Honda in the conversation? When I hear EVs and Hybrids in the same sentence with Tesla, I always see Ioniq. Hyundais tech is coming up super fast if not has already surpassed those of Honda and Toyota. I do agree, Honda and Toyota like to be a bit more conservative to be that "reliable" car but they're not in the top 5 anymore. I see more Elantra driving around than any Prius or the new Honda Civic ( which btw looks exactly like an old 1995 Subaru legacy - who designs these cars!? ) lol
