The moral of the story with this and other similar videos is: Buy a Toyota or a Honda. If you can't do that, buy a Subaru or a Mazda.

THANK YOU!!!!! We are currently in litigation with Nissan/Infiniti to repurchase our 2022 QX50 Sensory. It has had so many electrical problems, sensor problems, and connectivity problems that Infiniti does not seem able or willing to fix. The entire A/V unit has been replaced twice and all 3 units failed to work properly. Nissan/Infiniti financial also has a 3rd party buyout lease restriction which would have required us to take a $10,000+ hit to get rid of a car that doesn’t even function properly. This process has been so frustrating. I’m just happy to see that there is finally information out there about how bad this car is. Not to mention incredibly unsafe because the sensors engage the breaking system and our Nissan/Infiniti dealership service department says they can’t do anything about that because they can’t get a code on it. Sooner than later that is going to do a great deal of harm.

I can help you. I can see the future. Nissan has your money. Nissan takes a good amount of your (and everyone elses) money to retain lawyers. Nissan can afford a large amount of lawyer money. Nissan does not get punished or held to any legal process when they steal money. Nissan will keep your money.
      Stay gold.

My neighbor's husband bought a Alpha Romeo Giulia in spite of my warnings. That car was a constant problem, regularly going to the dealer, then a Italian "Junk" repair shop, that fleeced them mercilessly. Finally, they ended splitting up over the car's problems and after she realized why he wanted a flashy, middle-aged, "let me impress the young ladies car"...well you know the rest.
In short, the Giulia seemed like a curse. In more ways than mechanicals!😂

The decline started when Renault acquired 37% of Nissan's outstanding stock in 1999 and named 'the cost-killer' Carlos Ghosn as CEO in 2000. His top priority was to make the company profitable and he accomplished it by closing plants, laying off highly skilled (and well-paid) employees, and lowering quality like using CVT on most models.

@tcnthecarnations1876Exactly, 💯 percent CORRECT. Go to any Toyota showroom, you'll find a 10K mark-up on the MSRP and the dealer will be totally unwilling to negotiate with the customer and they'll be dismissive with the customer, saying "We're Toyota". That happened to my cousin who dealt with the same Toyota dealer for the last twenty years. She walked out of the showroom in disgust. Just because of name recognition Toyota dealers have become emboldened to treat customers like dirt. Not everyone wants to drive a Toyota. Go to a dealership that respects YOU and YOUR MONEY. I drive a Nissan Altima and I've had no problems with it and I plan on getting a new one, especially now that it comes with AWD. Toyota and Honda prices are starting to look more like a loan sharking extortion operation. I don't mind passing on Toyota. Not at all.

I just think you have to be an informed buyer… and don’t take unnecessary risks.
Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz appear on these lists, Porsche doesn’t… neither does AMG.
There’s just not enough people buying them that are CR Subscribers. Think about it… if you could afford an AMG S-Class why would you subscribe to CR? Or a Porsche 992?
Yet if you look at MB… the A series is not a heck of a lot more $$ than a RAV4. A GLA 250 starts at $50K… of course it’s not going to be as reliable as a GLS ($115K+).
The luxury brands are still expensive but they are also more affordable than they used to be. Even a RAV4 gas version can cost more than $50K and you are talking about 200hp not 450…

I went to the Toyota dealership yesterday and looked at RAV4s. The website said the two I looked at was 37-38k. Both were actually priced at 44k. If Toyota wants to over price these cars to this level I have no problem buying from someone else and boycotting Toyota. Anyone fool enough to pay 7k over MSRP deserves to get ripped off. Kia and Mazda's website was accurate at the lot. Over priced add ons that I didn't ask for and a huge markup from MSRP called SRP is no more than double talk. If they're worth so much to the dealer he can keep em.

    • @MrSchn3ll
      @MrSchn3ll 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Keep looking, it's dealer specific. I got a fully loaded Rav4 Prime that someone backed out on before it arrived (I only waited 2 weeks for the car to arrive from Japan), they didn't mark up at all and Toyota was running a $6,500 off lease deal (which I immediately bought out with cash). So the highest end Rav4 possible cost me $47k after tax. Keep looking.

    • @codincoman9019
      @codincoman9019 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Unreal. It is not at all Toyota, it is that dealer. My take: instead of going to the Korean clunkers, find a decent Toyota dealer. Or buy from the Koreans if you want to be happier than buying from Chinese commies or Germans etc.
No matter what you choose, the top Japanese have the best cars in any segment, so you'll regret not buying the most reliable and low costs' car that you need.

i own two Subarus, a 2018 limited legacy (assembled in us, 40% US parts) and a 2021 limited crosstrek (assembled in Japan) and my experience with each has been very different so far. The legacy has had a number of issues though all were addressed under the warranty. But im really disappointed about the CVT performance even though ive replaced the fluid every 30k miles. what is definitely not reassuring is that Subaru extended the CVT warranty to 10 years 100k miles and that had firmed my decision to trade the car in before then. On the other hand it has been a very different experience with the Crosstrek since the CVT feels smooth and refined and i have not had the sort of issues the legacy faced though it has features like dual zone climate control, heated rear seats, rear vents and Hill descent control that the lcrosstrek doesn't have, though it has X mode which is a step above. i will definitely consider their upcoming hybrids with a eCVT transmission and the toyota hybrid system though.

    I’ve driven Toyota’s for 40+ years.
I currently own a 19 Forester Touring. I truly do enjoy the car, BUT it’s the Biggest LEMON 🍋 Japan has ever produced.
Even though it’s 5 years old, it has only 15K miles on it because it’s in the repair shop more often than it’s in my garage.
Subaru could Never figure out anything why so many things were failing Until 3 days AFTER the warranty expired and suddenly they started figuring out some of the issues… all of which I have had to pay for.
The rear hatch opens randomly, the oil Biden light flickers, it’s on its 3rd battery, the facial recognition works about 50% of the time, my Forester unlocks itself at random. After I had to replace the DCM ($1,600 US dollars), it now gets only 20mpg. The transmission has been slipping for 4 years, yet Subaru says “that’s normal”. Subaru is full of 💩.
It ate through the first set of tires in 1,300 miles and then they realized that all 4 wheels were out of alignment, yet I had to pay for new tires.
The list goes on and on.
In 25 Toyota is supposed to be coming out with the new Stout, so I’ll wait until the 26 year model (to get the bugs worked out) and sell my Forester 🍋 and buy a new Stout AWD Hybrid.
My Forester was in the shop for 3 weeks, I had to drive the 6 hours round trip to my closest Subaru dealership to pick it up, drove it home, had it 10 days and something else went out on it, so I had to make the 6 hour trip again. Subaru has had it now for 7 weeks to figure out what the heck is wrong now.
It took Subaru almost 5 years to figure out why the remote start didn’t work.
As far as I’m concerned , Subaru can go 🖕🏽Themselves !!!

Car Help Corner, have you researched if C.R. gathered a large enough sample of car owners to make an accurate assessment of customer satisfaction. Are the surveys sent out to only C.R. subscriber members? I've heard those rumors, which could mean the survey sample is way too small and perhaps bias, because only a specific sect is asked to respond.

Once again, Toyota products outshine the other imports and most, if not all, modern American makes. German turd boxes, which have the potential of breaking down in the showroom, and the greedy, profit driven Nissan and their Jatco CVT transmissions which have caused their reputation in reliability to plummet are pariah in quality and reliability and cost. Toyota products; change the oil every 5k some basic maintenance and drive forever.

In the early 2000s Nissan was bought out from Renault. So now you know why Nissan’s reliability has been tanking for a quarter of a century.
Yes, just do normal maintenance on a Toyota and they’ll last for several hundreds of thousands of miles.
The most mileage I ever got out of Any vehicle was a 78 Corolla.
It was a bare bones 2 door. 4cyl with a 4spd manual transmission.
Back then all we had was conventional oil, so it was changed every 3K miles. I also had the transmission and rear end grease changed every 30K miles.
My grandparents bought it new for my grandma to commute to work.
In 81 my sister needed a college car. Her 73 Celica was worn out so she sold it for $950. My grandparents sold her their Corolla for the $950. It had only 21K miles on it.
In 83 I needed a college car, so I bought the Corolla from my sister for $500. It had 70K miles on it at that time.
That Corolla got me way beyond my college years.
When it had around 350K miles, the rear end was howling so I removed the rear seat and stuffed a dense foam in the rear and put the seat back over it.
Around that time the drivers seat was worn out so I put an old Los Angeles county phone book in it, then I put the same dense foam on top of the phone book. In top of the foam I bought seat covers for the front and put it over the foam to hold it in place.
At around 400K miles the vinyl flooring had worn down to the metal subfloor, so I got a piece of left over medium brown carpet (that came from the new carpet that my mom had put into her house). I glued it on top of the vinyl flooring in the front and back of the interior.
Like I’ve said, that Corolla was a Bare bones car. Vinyl seats and flooring. An AM radio with One speaker in the dashboard and a heater. It had power brakes, but no power steering, no rear defroster, just bare bones.
Anyhow, my little 78 Corolla finally died at 488K miles.
I’m sure that when it died that the gears in the rear end were so sharp that I could have shaved my face with them, LOL.
I went through 2 radiators, 3 clutches, 5 sets of brakes.
It kept running so I kept driving it. It got me through college, through paying off my student loans and through saving money for the down payment on my first house.
When it died in 02, I bought a new Camry and drove it until my needs changed in 11 and bought a new RAV4 Limited 4WD, 3.5 V6.
I drove it until December of 22, when I sold it and bought a 19 Forester Touring with only 4,700 miles.
My Forester is an absolute LEMON 🍋. It’s in the repair shop more than it’s in my garage.
In 25 Toyota is supposed to come out with the new Stout, so I’ll wait until the 26 year model comes out (to get the bugs worked out), then sell my Forester Lemon and buy a new Stout AWD hybrid.
At my age, I’m quite sure that the Stout will be the last vehicle I’ll ever have to buy.

I’ve been looking into new cars to replace our 2017 CRV and 2017 Corolla iM. I am appalled at the price gouging Honda and Toyota stealerships are doing to people. We only keep our cars around 7 years and 180-200k miles. Subaru and Mazda dealerships have been advertising below MSRP even with the dealer addendum most sales rep have been saying everything is negotiable no matter dealer addendum. I’m just looking up which cars are equal to what we are trying to replace. I will then head to dealership only not stealership to test drive and maybe buy. Otherwise , I will hold out and let the high interest rates drive some of these stealerships out of business. Even better I would have save enough and just pay cash

It pays to be a smart consumer. I bought a dealer demo Certified Altima Platinum with 3,000 miles on it for $23k just before covid hit. The only issue was a bad antenna which was replaced under warranty. If i paid mid $30’s i’d agree that there are better values. Good luck buying a loaded car for $23k with a CPO Warranty right now. You might get a Versa for that price or a stripped down Elantra. The market is turning though. A reckoning is coming for dealers and OEMs. I believe in Karma and they are about to get a dose of reality soon.
