Monster Hunter 3 main theme and part of the opening theme (also plays in many of the game's trailers) I do not own any of this content. Capcom holds those rights.
My mother bought this game for me cuz she saw Lagi and knew i loved crocodiles, little did she know she carved the path of a hunter for me😭😭 I love you mom, thanks for this birthday present when i was 12
Even with world coming out tomorrow I can't help but to go back to this soundtrack. No matter how much the formula improves or how much you ultimately prefer more recent iterations, your first Monster Hunter will always be special for you.
This was my first monster hunter, even if I didn’t realize it. I never got past trying to capture Great Jaggi, I thought the combat was clunky and there was way more grinding than I was used to. But even after all that, my heart must’ve known. After playing generations and being shown what monster hunter is by Gammoth, slaying Nakarkos and the two final bosses of world (with hopefully Atal Ka being next on the list) I come back and get chills down my spine, like I’m greeting an old friend.
Indeed, its not about those big fights with action packed music. Its a more serene and soothing theme just here and there interupted by majestic fanfares. Just like the game is about living with nature in peace being occasionally interrupted by meeting those majestic creatures like the Lagaicrus or the Ceadeus. It truely is beautiful. It may not be the best on a objectiv base but it definitly is one of a kind that could never be replaced within our hearts.
The day that Capcom was shuting down the Online mode...I put this song and kick the crap of the Jhen Mohra,Alatreon and the Deviljho, with my friends....Godammit I wanna cry...
Man, I wish I had gotten into Monster Hunter before MH3U. I love (and I really LOVE) that game and for some reason, whenever I see people talking about Monster Hunter, it's Freedom Unite or Tri.
despeinado340 Dunno about FU, but you probly keep hearing about Tri since it released on the Wii, a well sold 'family' console, introducing a lot of new people to the franchise. It was my first contact with the series and I fell in love with it!
Floipd Freedom Unite was fucking amazing. Suddenly I couldn't get the Wii for Monster Hunter Tri and had to settle for the PSP version of the game which didn't have a multiplayer like Tri had.
coming back here after hearing this theme play during the 20th anniversary of monster hunter. This is still my favorite entry in the series and this theme fills me with nostalgia.
Me too. Saw it at GameStop for the first time with my Dad. I said "This looks interesting, it's also split screen" (Even though that was only arena). My dad don't care for it but I fell in love. Only reason I have a 3ds today. (MH>Pokemon)

I remember the exact scenario of my first time knowing this game. I was probably like 4 years old or 5. My brothers put this great console known as *Wii* in those old thick TV. They said "look Jhova, Dinosaurs!" Since I love dinosaurs and still do. That's where the opening cinematic came in. First I saw the Jaggi and Aptonoth in the stampede, I was so hyped. I've never played Tri, but this theme makes me feel things. It's like nostalgia for something I haven't experienced. My first MH was 4U and I've played World/Iceborne and GenU since then, and I'm deeply in love with the series. Honestly it's the most passion I've had for anything, well, ever.
Gotta come back here every now and then, to remind myself where I started, With a game that allowed me to experience all aspects of a hunt, land, sea, and air!
God, this brings back memories. I remember when my friend suggested this game to me. I thought it would be weird, but I played it anyway. I've been hunting ever since.
I've just been teleported back to the seventh grade where I was first introduced to this amazing series by a good friend at the time with his copy of Tri he let me borrow. Needless to say, the tears cannot be stopped.
Ah, the theme of my first Monster Hunter game. I remember how satisfying it was to kill my first large monster, the Great Jaggi, then there was the Querupeco, the Barroth, the Royal Ludroth, the Gobul, then the Lagiacrus. It took me so many tries to kill the Lagiacrus. I just remember how happy I was when I finally saw it die and I just screamed "YES!!!" There is no other series like Monster Hunter.
10 years later and it's still the best MH Main Theme...I miss LocLac so deeply >_< ...but hey Iceborne is comming out soon so I will not be sad anymore^^
I beat Alatreon in MHWI with my brother, we grew up playing Monster Hunter. Out first was Tri and me and him just sat there almost to tears as we relived one of our favorite moments in life in MHWI. Thank you Capcom and every person who worked on the series, you’ve made life a helluva lot more enjoyable.
My first MH game. I share a lot of memories with it. Hopefully in Wilds water bioms return and with them our beloved boy and king of the sea - LAGIACRUS ♥
Who's here listening to this in 2023? I miss playing this game on the Wii. Gonna be using this and other songs for my upcoming DND game, it's gonna be great.
This music melts my heart so much. It shouldn't be the case but I still feel such things. I played this game back in 2014-15. I was really late to the game as it has been at least two years after the online servers were shut down. So my memory of this game was only halved in its experience. I never got to experience high rank and master rank. But even so, it still has a special place in my heart as a first time fan introduction to the Monster Hunter Series. It is true that the first Monster Hunter Games have a special place in your heart. And the fact that this series can attract such attention with each entry is truly special.
9 years playing Monster Hunter and this game definitely had the best intro out of all of them IMO, it was majestic. What a beautiful F*CKING franchise.
I poured so many hours into this game with my friends. We had some amazing times together; I can remember clearly my friend Kari teaching me how to fight Ala my first time. I miss you guys. I hope we meet again in Ultimate.
This is the most nostalgic song I’ve ever heard, this game being my first monster hunter (technically 3U was but I played this game a tiny tiny bit before I played 3U) but 3U was what got me sooooo big into monster hunter, easily my favorite game series, I came and listened to this because alatreon in IB play tri’s Quest complete music when you defeat him. The nostalgia hit me, and I came and listened to this song. Its so beautiful and is my favorite MH theme ever and is wy I soooo badly want lagiacrus in IB, they would make him so beautiful like they’ve done with all the returned monsters in world. When 9 year old me played this game, I was a noob at the game, I couldn’t even get past the tutorial part. But when i played mh3u that’s what got me started on the series. I was still a massive noob, and I remember getting stuck on duramboros in low rank, and how many times I fought lagiacrus to get a lagiacrus horn (wich I never got). I never finished the game but I had just made it to high rank when we got a nintendo switch for Christmas and I got mhgu. I remember how amazed I was about how many more mechanics there were, and the inclusion of two new weapons I’d never seen before. I was still a noob, and still didn’t understand how the skill system worked, I continued playing until I got mhw finished that and finally figured out how the skill system worked so I went back to GU for a bit, then iceborne came out, and when I heard alatreons quest complete song and remembered the beginning of my MH journey 6 years ago I went to this song. I cant stop listening to this song, its just so damn good. The monster hunter franchise is hands down the best game series ever, I will always love no matter what.
9 years. Thats how long I have been hunting All the way from Freedom 2 to Iceborne, from learning how to use the Sword and Shield's jump attack to taking down the Black Dragon in the ps4 I think its safe to say that Monster Hunter has transcended to not only being a game about hunting monsters As cringe as this might sound, its become a part of us all. Hunt on friends!
3 was my first MH game, and tho I never finished it, I loved it. It was the first game to give me that sensation of an untameable and beautiful world, and even tho MHW improves greatly in many aspects, 3 and 3u will always remain as a very special game in my heart. So nice to see Barroth and Brachy in world, and Lagi, well, may we fight again in the future!
I see so many people talking about fond memories of this game and wanted to share my story since I don't talk about it in detail ever except for now. When people ask how I met my partner I always kept it very surface level. I have so many fond memories of this game and it honestly saved my life. For context I was going through a hard period of my life growing up. People would constantly make fun of my hair, skin color, body, etc. Typically kid bullying stuff, it was generally awful growing up my teachers and parents wouldn't really listen or help me and going to school between the ages of 10-15 was frankly a nightmare, I was highly suicidal. During the summer I was 12 my parents brought me monster hunter TRI and it was one of the most fun games I had ever played. I would get up everyday and play from 10 am to around 1am. Looking back on it I was such a bad player I never really finished online/ grinded Deviljho and Alatreon. But it was the people that I met and talked to that literally saved my life. The general playerbase was so welcoming and nice, there was very few instances of "toxic gamers" and it was a breathe of fresh air. There were some people who for better or for worse I opened up to and they never judge or were mean to me and for that I will forever appreciated them. Met the love of my life there too when I was 12 just turned 13! We kept in contact until I got to meet them in person at 18. I am now 23 almost done with school and we will be moving in and starting our lives together. So yeah that's my story with Monster Hunter Tri. Every year for the past decade or so around the release of a new MH game I will come to this video to play it on loop and cry for about an hour because of all the fond memories. The love of my life finally was able to get vaccinated for COVID-19 and will be visiting in late April for about 2 weeks. I hope to play Rise with them in person for the majority of the visit. To other MH players out there, thank you for generally being a cool community of people who just wanna play video games and chill. 1000s of hours have gone into this series and it I've had fun with every game since Tri online. To Cloud from Florida and Magnus from Canada, sincerely thank you for saving my life. I am doing good now and hope you both are too. I owe my wonderful life to you both and I'm glad I didn't end it. Hope you are both still playing the series and having a blast with Iceborne/ Rise. And to my beloved, I cannot imagine life without you, from the bottom of my heart I hope we grow old together and live our best lives. Some people say true love doesn't exist but I'm pretty sure I lucked out and got it. I would do anything for you and I feel so blessed that the powers that be had you show up in my life when I needed you the most.
The nostalgia be hitting hard MH3U was my first game of the series and I was literally obsessed with it and all those beautiful memories coming back within this melody, tears.
10 years ago, on this very day, 3 Ultimate released in the USA happy 10th anniversary to the game that put me on the path of a hunter and last entry that had underwater combat im still going to hold out hope that it returns in MH6 happy hunting
In monster hunter's 20th anniversary, imagine the hunter getting chased by a monster and left no choice but to jump into the water and then the camera zooms out to the ocean with this theme playing and then afterward revealing new and improved water combat system along with lagiacrus, that would be awesome
This is the one that started it all for me, the nostalgia of coming home from school and thinking I could fight diablos with great jaggi equipment, good memories..
These games are so full of life and this soundtrack shows it perfectly, mh3 wasn't my first mh and I didn't play too much of it but this is my favorite soundtrack in the series because it really encapsulates the soul of monster hunter. The sense of awe, community, and growth that makes these games so charming is all here. Makes me want to cry everytime I hear it
I felt like listening to this again now that World Iceborne is coming out. I think this song still represents Monster Hunter better than anything else, everything you need to know about this franchise you can find in the atmosphere of this song.

I think Monster hunter changed my life... just saying, back then i alredy like monstrs and dinos, so this game was... a dream come true?
Memories...still playing
I've just been teleported back to the seventh grade where I was first introduced to this amazing series by a good friend at the time with his copy of Tri he let me borrow. Needless to say, the tears cannot be stopped.
Ah, the theme of my first Monster Hunter game.
I remember how satisfying it was to kill my first large monster, the Great Jaggi, then there was the Querupeco, the Barroth, the Royal Ludroth, the Gobul, then the Lagiacrus.
It took me so many tries to kill the Lagiacrus. I just remember how happy I was when I finally saw it die and I just screamed "YES!!!"
There is no other series like Monster Hunter.
10 years later and it's still the best MH Main Theme...I miss LocLac so deeply >_< ...but hey Iceborne is comming out soon so I will not be sad anymore^^
youll never forget your first, can remember the day i got this like it was yesterday
It wasn’t my first, but it *feels* like the first in my heart. ❤️
This ost really hits me 😭
I beat Alatreon in MHWI with my brother, we grew up playing Monster Hunter. Out first was Tri and me and him just sat there almost to tears as we relived one of our favorite moments in life in MHWI. Thank you Capcom and every person who worked on the series, you’ve made life a helluva lot more enjoyable.
The feeling when he dies and the mh3 music plays is probably the best feeling I've had all year
In 2024 this Theme is still an absolute banger
I’m gonna play this for my grandpa’s birthday at his gravestone, wish me luck
Good luck bro :,) so sorry for your loss...
Apparently the music played in the rise trailer was a remix of this
Brings a tear to my eye
No matter how awesome is MHW this MH will always have a special place in my heart.
Flashbacks with Heart excitement... and Fucking Goosebumps!!!
In life, there are hunters...
And then, there are monster hunters.
Let's go kill us a sea beastie, lads!
I love this theme. Its my favorite, it gives me goosebumps everytime!
Listen Ballad of Goddess. The Legend Of Zelda!!! :)
My first monster hunter I miss this so bad nostalgia
Why is this the best music I've ever heard in my entire freaking worthless life
Can relate.
Now, this theme has literally stuck in my head forever, I find myself humming it every single day since I first heard it.
It really does make you feel like your about to go on the journey of a lifetime.
Even to this day, this song gives me the chills.
Dang it will be an epic DnD game
You can play it online again, there are replacement servers for the game now.
This game series in general will always be one of my favorites, the music, the monsters, the thrill and excitement of the hunt. Ah. the nostalgia.
I bought it at 25% off the original price not knowing the servers were down 🤣 The huge Lagiacrus printed box was epic though
Mh3 nostalgia on that mhw alatreon
9 years playing Monster Hunter and this game definitely had the best intro out of all of them IMO, it was majestic. What a beautiful F*CKING franchise.
Been stressed over school lately, this entire series is legitimately my go to to get my mind off it. And good lord does it work.
Hope you're feeling better bro
My first monster hunter game. Really good times.
Same here. Came for nostaliga
This brought me back so hard that I almost started to cry and I can't stop smiling right now.
same!
I poured so many hours into this game with my friends. We had some amazing times together; I can remember clearly my friend Kari teaching me how to fight Ala my first time. I miss you guys. I hope we meet again in Ultimate.
moga was my first and only home
Pokke was my first home, but Moga will always be the closest to my heart.
It's such a beautifully made song. One of my absolute favorite game themes.
9 years.
Thats how long I have been hunting
All the way from Freedom 2 to Iceborne, from learning how to use the Sword and Shield's jump attack to taking down the Black Dragon in the ps4
I think its safe to say that Monster Hunter has transcended to not only being a game about hunting monsters
As cringe as this might sound, its become a part of us all.
Hunt on friends!
Getting ready for rise eh? May the sapphire star light your way my friend (even tho there is no more sapphire star)
This song just sounds like honor, I can’t explain it
Heard someone describe this theme as a nature doc and yeah
3 was my first MH game, and tho I never finished it, I loved it. It was the first game to give me that sensation of an untameable and beautiful world, and even tho MHW improves greatly in many aspects, 3 and 3u will always remain as a very special game in my heart. So nice to see Barroth and Brachy in world, and Lagi, well, may we fight again in the future!
you know how much money capcom would make if they put a 3u remaster on the switch
They don't do it for the money. They do it because they love the fans and the franchise
@@michaelsnyman2800 and the money
And for adoration/attention
THE EPICNESS IS TOO MUCH TO HANDLE
Ten years ago, today. Thanks for getting so many hunters started on their journey.
*RIP: Medium bowguns, bowgun customization, swimming*
Happy hunting
The nostalgia be hitting hard MH3U was my first game of the series and I was literally obsessed with it and all those beautiful memories coming back within this melody, tears.
I cant belive its been 10 years since i first played monster hunter
this theme always brings me the chills, so much atmosphere. my first mh game. so many good memories
Never had the occasion to play this game yet that theme somehow manages to make me feel extremely nostalgic for some reason.
What a beautiful soundtrack for such a beautiful game, so fun, so jovial, so epic.
10 years ago, on this very day, 3 Ultimate released in the USA
happy 10th anniversary to the game that put me on the path of a hunter and last entry that had underwater combat
im still going to hold out hope that it returns in MH6
happy hunting
I tear up every time when the music swells.
In monster hunter's 20th anniversary, imagine the hunter getting chased by a monster and left no choice but to jump into the water and then the camera zooms out to the ocean with this theme playing and then afterward revealing new and improved water combat system along with lagiacrus, that would be awesome
im now wishing for this to happen after sunbreak's updates wrap up
it's 3U's 10th USA release anniversary as im commenting this for extra hopium
Tri hunters, please stand up for our national anthem.
Makes me want to cry everytime I hear it
I started off with MH2 on the PSP and transitioned to MHFU. There weren't that many fans, but after Tri was released the fucking fandom exploded. DAMN
you should talk about after mh4u damn
Gojifan03 nah this triggered it
+Pink “Ryu” Swagneel THAT FUCKING NOSTALGIA.This was one of my most memorable MHs,Along With MHFU and The Original
Literally not a single person I know is even aware of monster hunter until I talk about it. Even after world. Wherever you live, you're lucky.
I felt like listening to this again now that World Iceborne is coming out.
I think this song still represents Monster Hunter better than anything else, everything you need to know about this franchise you can find in the atmosphere of this song.
I love this theme so much.
Ah... The sound of my Hunters home.
I have an amazing summer home out on a new continent too.
Im glad i started my journy on MH3U... my dad just bought it for the look on the box and the PEGI he just though "im gonna give him a bit of a challenge" and damn... I think Monster hunter changed my life... just saying, back then i alredy like monstrs and dinos, so this game was... a dream come true?
I spend so many hours on the bed, on Moga... literally just walking trough all the map... exploring, with some binoculars XD
I started as a noob, and end it killing Dire Miralis because i wanted to hear his track...
and, all of this solo... it was for 3ds, didnt have a wii u, and the 3d was awesome (yes, i am one of the few who can use 3ds at is fullest, without the 3d actually i could avoid attacks properly... MHGU was a challenge at the beggining just for that)
