Yes exactly it lasted a long time before it started to fail. Remember I bought these early ones back in 2011 ish and even after small weaknesses appeared probably several years had passed of regular use. And look its only now that the material catching things and really needs moving on. I'll go on using new cuben stuff sacks and slowly retire my very old ones. Thanks for comment
I have made quite a few CF items over the years and yes agree it does wear, creasing on a fold constantly is particularly bad. It also has pretty low abrasion resistance.
DCF last considerably less than silny. Even accounting for how bad silny degrades with UV. i've yet to wear down my silpoly tarp to make comparison, but my normal camping tent made of poly is like 11 years old, and considering i thoroughly dry it after each outing, it does fine.
Even if i had money to burn i wouldn't buy a DCF tent for loads of reasons but mostly because of the noise and transparency the weight difference between an equivalent sil nylon tent is a good bowel movement :)

Yup I'm slowly wearing out my early cuben shelters. A tarp gave up ghost but might be fixable with tape and my early duomid has tape on it now
