    I dread replacing those Carrier heat exchangers. I always hope the customer just wants to replace the furnace instead

    Also, the inside of the exhaust pipe looked to be dark brown, a sure sign of producing c o. Good video, sounds like you have the sniffles, stay safe.

    Lucky the rollout tripped. I have video of one that got hot enough to melt the intake and turn all the screws black. The homeowner called the gas company for a strange odor they thought was gas. Gas company shut it down because of high co.

    You can easily see the soot at exhaust pipe outside ! The poly coating on those carrier secondary heat exchangers are always going to fail .

    We saw alot of those failured buggers a few years back. We weren't carrier dealers,so most wanted to check on the heater hanger warranty. Which was fine, service was where we were at more than replacements.

      Have a Bryant 92% 345MAV furnace from 2002.
      I am afraid to see the roll out due to secondary plugged - I will need a couple weeks to get a new furnace and another day to install it.
      Visually checked both primary and secondary - did not find anything unusual.
      My pressure sensor has 3.05 inH2O on main entry and 0.74 on intake entry.
      My exhaust contains 47 ppm of CO (I can probably reduce the gas pressure to reduce that)
      Flames look blue with tiny orange.
      I do have all parts short of exchanger for my furnace.
      What are the since that secondary getting to be plugged before the roll out?

    • @Jon-hx7pe
      @Jon-hx7pe 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@azaslavs1 I don't think you have a plugged secondary. 47 ppm is with normal range, possibly a bit over-fired but it takes other measurements to tell.
      if it's a 2-stage, make sure you're testing it on high fire.

    • @azaslavs1

      @@Jon-hx7peThanks! Forget to mention - single stage.
