CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Gary's (Vince Vaughn) brother Lupus (Cole Hauser) shows him the ropes at a club.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A once-loving Chicago couple whose happily-ever-after quickly turned into a never-again finds their crumbling romance complicated when both parties refuse to move out of the pair's recently purchased condo. The Break-Up is a romantic comedy that starts where all the others end. The future once looked promising for thirtysomething couple Brooke (Jennifer Aniston) and Gary (Vince Vaughn), but lately it seems like a series of increasingly petty and intolerable squabbles have snuffed any semblance of romance in their relationship. Their confrontation endlessly fueled by mean-spirited suggestions of revenge tactics from friends and family and their stubborn refusal to budge resulting in an excruciating stalemate, Brooke and Gary ultimately decide to spitefully stick it out as hostile roommates until the weaker party eventually admits defeat. As the competition to drive one another out grows increasingly intense and outrageous, however, Brooke eventually comes to the realization that she's not fighting for possession of the condominium as much as she is fighting to salvage her relationship with the man she once viewed as the love of her life.

Um. Hello! Of course it was over the top! That was the ENTIRE point of it. He's trying to give advice to Vince Vaughn...like his pick up line is amazing and a turn on. No guy would ever use that as a pick up line on a girl! No one! What planet does this guy live on to think that would be an appropriate thing to say. And for him to also think he was being this hot, cool dude that no girl could resist with that pick-up line. That is EXACTLY why it's absolutely, hilarious!!! People who have a sense of humor, will understand and appreciate this funny scene. And Cole Hauser played that character perfectly.

honestly me too, the reason there are so many bad marriages in the world is because there are a lot of people who simply aren't suited for marriage but do it anyways because they get pressured into it (or they get told they're inadequate or incomplete without it)

Book-ending the rather forward and potentially dangerous desires little Bro has here are some very deep and authentic illustrations used to school Vince.. Both metaphors show the strained relationship between "domesticated" males and the more primeval aspects of an alpha-based sexual hierarchy. Dialogue like that, although very "movie-esque" is what we go to see movies for.

No but how else would you write a scene where you are trying to portray a charismatic guy who is successful at picking up chicks but for the purposes of the scene needs to get rejected. While also alluding to Aniston’s line about his bother being a pervert but not making him an actual pervert. It’s honestly the perfect way to write it. The girls were on board until he went too wacky.
