That said, if you put any pitcher that can locate a low-away slider or sweeper, Manny will chase those all day lmao. He was also very prone to GIDP. I still trust him as my favorite team's captain though. 2025 looks a little shakey for the Padres, but 2026 is looking good (as long as this new ownership dispute gets settled in a good way) with two very good prospects that can fill two very much needed spots in the infield.

@@peskytalk I love it that you can back up such a risky take with concret numbers. I think anyone that's ever had a broken hand will tell you that it does not fully heal in a few months. So I'm assuming he was playing with pain or at least minor discomfort that obviously applies to everything with hitting. As far as defense goes, he is getting older so I'm not expecting 2018 or even 2020 Mookie right field defense. Even in the 2024 playoffs, he's still an above average fielder if not elite. I am perfectly fine with you putting judge over Witt, he was better in 2024, I just have Bobby Witt jr as my 2025 AL MVP so I gotta put him top 2 with shohei!
As a Royals fan and huge Yankees hater, having Witt above Judge at this point when Judge just put up maybe the greatest offensive season for a right handed hitter ever is asinine. Shohei IF he pitches is the only player with any argument to be above Judge right now.
I just like 5 tool players, shohei is the ultimate tool player, he has like 8 tools lol, but Witt is probably the most 5 tool player the game has seen in a long time, that makes me like him more than judge for 2025. Judge was better in 2024 for sure, but I think in 2025 Witt is going to be better
I think your biggest issue on this list was that you somewhat lacked consistency in whether you were projecting or not. There were multiple rankings like with J Rod or Corbin Carrol in the 40 when they are very clearly better players than that, but you held them back due to their stats from this year. If we are projecting, then they should be much higher. If we are simply going off of this last year’s production, then Judge should be above Witt. Either project or don’t, but you can’t pick and choose when you project to prop up Witt. Again, I’m a Royals fan, Witt is my favorite player in the league, and I hate the Yankees. My brother in Christ, Judge broke the home run record without Soto. He very clearly does not need him. Soto demonstrably benefitted way more than Judge did, putting up the best season of his career, probably because he was a lefty hitting in Yankees stadium with the best hitter on the planet right behind him.
I think Soto did protect judge in the sense also that if he walks, you don’t want to walk judge as well so now you gotta pitch to him a little bit at least, where if the bases are empty you’re fine with just walking judge, I get what you’re saying too though, but I do think having Soto did protect judge at least a little bit, judge did 100% Soto more though
A pitchers job is not to rack up strikouts but to get outs. I recently heard someone say that John Smoltz was the ace of the braves in the 90's because he was a strikeout pitcher. So judging Miller lower is junk. BTW I'm a cardinals fan not a Mariners fan.
I still put him as like my 7th best pitcher in baseball, in this ERA, strikeout stuff is very VERY important, giving up home runs can’t happen if you strike guys out, and with the current approach guys have, strikeouts are important. But Maddux was the ace of that staff, DIFFERENT ERAS though
@@peskytalk I think it must also be mentioned that with power comes for control problems. Some of the pitchers you mentioned have walk problems now for today they are okay but it does not age well because they don't know really how to pitch without gas. There are exceptions but tupically they fall way off as they get to their thirties.

Judge does have insane offensive stats, but so does Witt, and with the defense and speed I’m taking him moving forward. Im not saying you’re wrong, im just saying my opinion on the 2 players
I’d take Witt moving forward too, he’s probably the most valuable asset in baseball with his combination of 5 tool talent and youth. I would bet money that from this point on, Witt will put up more WAR throughout the remainder of their careers than any player in the league. Still, as of right now, today, Judge is clearly the better player.
Witt and Judge have different kinds of insane offensive stats. The only right handed hitter in the last 80 years to compare to the production Judge is putting up is Pujols. Witt is amazing, but offensively, he’s not in the same stratosphere as Judge.
I like Soto but you must be a bit intoxicated, Soto is a great hitter but terrible on defense has no range and an average arm, even worse has no speed and bad base runner, the pitchers walk him because he's not a threat on the bases, again I like the guy but I pick Acuna at #3 if he's healthy over Soto.
@@Simoneditz10 that's just one half of the game, shohei can also pitch 😂 no sane person besides delusional Yankees fans would believe judge better than shohei.
Everyone says Juan Soto is a bad defender and I agree 100%. Can someone explain to me how he finished top 3 in the gold glove award? That tells me that the advanced metrics are too flawed for defense and should be revised.
He finished top 3 in gold glove bc that’s a popularity contest and his arm is above average, all metrics, simple and advanced AND eye test all dislike him though. It’s the voting that’s flawed more than the stats
It can be a starting point, normally a BAD defended doesn’t win gold glove, but guys like Jackie Bradley jr only won 1 gold glove, even though he was one of the best fielders of the generation, there are definitely better things to look at, but it’s a decent starting point

I honestly put Juan Soto number 1 coming this year...just you wait! Shohei number 3 and Judge number 2 Bobby Witt number 4 and Alvarez number 5
Ur delusional, judge at least 2 and imo 1 and most of the list is trash
If you put judge 1 you’re more delusional than me
@ better average more hrs more ops better obp better war
@@peskytalk he is better than shohei in almost every offensive stat and shohei isn’t guaranteed to pitch. How do you put judge at three
@@Simoneditz10 that's just one half of the game, shohei can also pitch 😂 no sane person besides delusional Yankees fans would believe judge better than shohei.
@@EliyahuAronowitz judge benefits from hitting at yankee stadium and only had 4 more HRs. If sho was playing there he'd have 65 HRs every season.
Rooker getting snubbed out of EVERYTHING nowadays
Yea I was thinking about him hard, I just feel like he might regress a little and it’s hard to put a DH on the list
Ohtani is the goat.
DO THE BEST OAKYER AT EVER NUMBER PLS ❤
I have!
@ do it fro 2025 also *player* ops
Everyone says Juan Soto is a bad defender and I agree 100%. Can someone explain to me how he finished top 3 in the gold glove award? That tells me that the advanced metrics are too flawed for defense and should be revised.
He finished top 3 in gold glove bc that’s a popularity contest and his arm is above average, all metrics, simple and advanced AND eye test all dislike him though. It’s the voting that’s flawed more than the stats
@ So we need to stop talking about Gold Glove to compare players on their defensive performance, that's simply a popularity contest.
It can be a starting point, normally a BAD defended doesn’t win gold glove, but guys like Jackie Bradley jr only won 1 gold glove, even though he was one of the best fielders of the generation, there are definitely better things to look at, but it’s a decent starting point
@@peskytalkI agree, even John Sterling the Yankees commentator called Soto a bad defensive player, has no range with an average arm, even worse his base running is terrible and has no speed, and pitchers walk him because he's not a threat on the bases.
ozuna and snell snubbed
Yeah gunner Henderson and Bobby Witt is not better then Jose ramirez dude almost went 40 40 40 and still underestimated
no michael harris is crazy
Thought about him
Oneil Cruz will be a top 50 player in 2025 maybe better than Elly remember this.
I like Oneil Cruz as a top 50 player, I don’t like him as better than Elly
Obviously you don't watch much baseball
Why is that, what do you disagree with?
@peskytalk everybody around the world knows that Shohei it's probably the best player to ever play the game
Which is why he’s 1 on my list 💀
Watch the video
Altuve, Yordan, Tucker. My boys 😁
id swap Judge and Witt personally
Perfectly fine with that but I just like 5 tool witt
@@peskytalk Yeah, I prefer judges bat and as you said his defense will be better moving back to right
Perfectly reasonable take in my eyes!
I think you had way too many pitchers on this list and if Gerrit Cole is healthy he will easily be a top 50 player
Definitely possible, but he wasn’t as good last season, I think he’ll regress a little more too
Putting Bobby Witt jr over judge and Soto is diabolical lol. You clearly don’t know baseball
Bobby Witt JR had 2 better WAR than Juan Soto btw
@@peskytalkbrother Bobby Witt jr isn’t better than Juan Soto or Aaron judge and if you think so you don’t know baseball .
Brent Rooker?
I was debating him, he probably should’ve been on it
Dumper at 20 is way too high considering where Contreras is
Witt over judge🫵😂
No Edwin Diaz, Sean Manara. You're delusional
There’s a 0% chance either of those players are even in my top 75, they might not even be in my top 100
Think giraffe neck mark list is better this list is garbage
Why is it garbage
judge over witt
This is my top 50 let me know what your opinion is. Also I consider injured players still on my list. Just a difference in rankings

Not bad, Chapman way too low imo and Olson is an interesting bounce back guy but idk he was pretty bad in 2024, also feel like Sale should be higher, not a bad list at all though
@@peskytalkalright thanks for your feedback I appreciate it. Your list was great too! Just Betts and freeman were really low in my personal opinion but I understand that age can take a toll on a player.
D1 yankee hater
Facts
Which part of this list was hating on the Yankees?
Your voice sucks
Thanks for the useful feedback Hank
Shohei Ohtani is NOT The best player in baseball
Oh, really?
who is better than ohtani? I'm a Yankees fan and totally believe he is the best. Fresh off a 50/50 season and about to pitch again.
I'm a Padre fan and even I can't say something as crazy as this.
Incorrect statement
rage bait
You are wrong about this give me a break you have no idea how good about how his pitching is . Judge is a better hitter than Otani Jodge got MVP 2 out of the past 3 years he was only a few points away from the triple crown 2 years if you’re gonna do this and do it right
I did do it right, the 2025 AL MVP is Bobby Witt Jr
