Matt is brilliant. He is so positive and upbeat. His way of speaking is so down to earth that he connects well with all.

Matt Dillahunty has a very persuasive method and style. If you had to go into a debate with the “new apologists”, Matt would be the best choice to represent the “Not Guilty” argument. I’d put him up there with the power of Hitchens, although Hitch was more developed in politics and economics. I wish that Matt was more versed in these subjects so that he could appear on TV news shows and speak to a much larger audience and help protect our secular society. Religion is the most dangerous thing in the world and it’s important to push back against the constant and incessant theocratic encroachment into secular society.

7 years ago, The Atheist Experience, changed my mind. I was having debates trying to prove god's existence in the comments and unfortunately I realized I lost in a checkmate and thought about what my opponents were really saying to me and thinking critically about my own beliefs. The minute I saw the Atheist Experience, I simply turned into an atheist just like that because of Matt's well articulated counter arguments. Thanks for bringing the truth to my eyes and liberating me from that fucking stupid evil cult that is now continuing to support the all time sith lord, Trump.

That’s sad you think that. He has done nothing but podcasts and personal appearances. He has never contributed to science by creating anything.

The question isn't "did Jesus exist?" It's "did the water-walking, wine-turning, RESURRECTING Jesus exist?"
As Paul said, Christianity is NOTHING without the LATTER.

English fellow at 48:45 must not be aware of MD having been a Baptist once upon a time, and MD has surely mentioned his diminishing ability to "put on his Christian hat" more than once...or is he meaning (now that I hear he's anticipating a visit from the Mormons...) a literal case of trying to get THEM to play ball in a role-reversal game? I'd love to see him try ; I'd like to be a fly on the wall as he tries to explain the concept, through their obfuscations, get them to agree to the roles...because I posit a scene of high farce, and the role-play just wouldn't take place, and at some stage the mormons would run off...and so that'd be the "fin de scene" ; quel tragedie.
Religion, high and low office, and other hierarchies seem to generate theatre, but then the Greeks knew this 3500 years ago ; the civilisation still fell. We'd better watch out we don't repeat history...again...
As Douglas Adams said, up, down, up, down ; time-sick, history-sick, space-sick, or some such thing...and STUPID.
Please, everyone - NOT AGAIN !
And in the name of all the false-gods, no horseshit about "never say 'never again!'"

I'm really sick of Matt misconstruing what Harris was saying in "Letter to a Christian Nation". Matt has said this on so many occasions. Harris' argument wasn't "the Bible says pi equals 3". If you simply read the preceding paragraphs, you easily understand what Harris was explaining. His argument is similar to arguments Matt makes. His point is that if a book is inspired by a god, what would we expect to see from it? Could we expect to see information that shouldn't have been available to humans of the time? He explains that this section of the bible was an opportunity for the god to bestow upon man, information that was beyond them at that time. However, this part simply shows a lack of detail. His point is that god could have given some advanced information to men, to write in the Bible, but instead we see information that wasn't even on par with what people knew in other parts of the world at that time.
There may be better ways that Harris could have worded what he wrote, but that being said, there are definitely more accurate ways Matt can word his misrepresentation of it. Matt is either intentionally misrepresenting it, or he is ignorant of the context. Neither option is good for Matt.

Just watch UNACKNOWLEDGED, Bob Lazar and Phil Schnider. Also the retired Canadian defense minister. This is pretty good truth to the matter. I agree with the Alien idealism. There's enough proof if you look.

i've listened to a lot of matt. the problem with his thinking is that he has strawmaned the entirety of christianity by debating only conservative/fundamental christianity. i doubt he would know what to say against other branches such as NT Wright, Pete Enns, etc.
