A quick bit of backstory: I originally planned to re-release the old video with its audio issues fixed in time for Sparking Zero’s launch. However, once I got into the editing room, I realized the base audio quality wasn’t great and decided to re-record the whole thing. One thing led to another, and I chose to ignore my original deadline to create a video that truly does justice to the story of this game series. I hope you enjoy it!
I’ve been watching this video on my tv for the past 1:13:13, thank you so much for creating this video. It’s been formal, informative, funny with your use of memes and very nostalgic for not just the games but the time periods within them; subbed can’t wait for more! 🎉
Bro. This is a masterpiece. TH-cam algorithm knew what it was doing by recommending this to me on day 2, sub 300 views. Watching all no doubt. Keep up the great work
Nothing was more peaceful than grinding the game for hours as a kid then finishing that grind at night to the character encyclopedia, chichi with her shit talk and the music just giving that complete sense of calm. God BT3 was truly a different beast entirely.
Videos like this are so hard to come across. At first I wasn't sure what to expect when clicking the video. Was it going to be a podcast? A full tournament? Some gameplay? Maybe it would end up being AI slop. When I started watching the editing was almost too good. I thought this might be something poorly researched like an IGN or Gamer video. But your attention to detail and dedication is something I have almost never seen before. There is so much hyper specific information in this video that makes it a genuine masterclass in long form content. Going as in depth as figuring out the inner workings as to why and how they got the composer for Tenkaichi 2, or explaining all the intricacies of each games systems, making diagrams and adding memes to make the viewer experience stronger. The way you thrust the viewer into a time period to help illustrate what it must've felt like at the time. This is one of my favorite videos of all time now. Easily. The Tenkaichi community has never been so lucky before. I used to watch Omega and Grand Master Hawk's content a long time ago. I even used to frequent one of the servers you showed in the 'Wanna Go Again' section. Seeing people like Grand Master Hawk, and even Omega being brought up takes me back man. Thank you for this video. I am lucky to have found it and you are something out of this world for making it.
Fantastic video; it really took me down memory lane (growing up in the 90s, early 2000s). Although Sparking Zero really could have used more polish and characters from BT3 (ahem, Super 17, Pikkon, Nova), I still did enjoy it and put over 100 hours in it.
I subbed to your channel when you uploaded the original version of this video. After that, I thought about unsubscribing many times. I'm glad I didn't. Please continue to create more video essays; I will be there to enjoy it.
9:00 Atari had nothing to do with the Japanese production of Dragon Ball games. They simply had the rights to publish these games in the West. They made no decisions regarding the direction and were subject to whatever Bandai Namco chose to do.
I want to emphasize that Takanori Arima had only made a section of Budokai Tenkaichi 2's soundtrack. He was more of a general overseer. There were many other composers (who also produced their own music) as well, such as Hideyuki Fukasawa and Hiromi Mizutani. They are amazing composers who shouldn't go overlooked. If you want more details, you must merely watch the credits of the game. This notion that Takanori Arima was the sole composer for Tenkaichi 2 is a big mistake that keeps being repeated on descriptions of youtube uploads of the songs, and it's a shame that on such a well researched video you also parroted that mistake.
Thank you for highlighting this, have made a correction within the description of the video showing all that worked on the OST. This video does imply that Mr Arima was the sole composer when in reality he was the overall music director
2:00:04 this game is the best example of game done past right. We gonna see if bandai treats sparking zero and the franchise ip moving forward. I have doubt
A warning for Sparking Zero apologizers : This video contains footage of Tenkaichi 3 being played competitively as well as mentions of advanced techniques used by competitive Tenkaichi 2 players. Please don't say that the Sparking series isn't made for competitive play after that. If games like Hokuto no Ken can be played in tournaments, there's nothing that can stop SZ from being played the same way. The androids have been fixed btw, and they were always banned in community-made tournaments in the first version of the game, just not in the official tournament organised by Bandai which lead to the infamous clip of the elevator tech.
I had a dream that Tenkaichi 1 was better than it was. Like I was playing it like it was Tenkaichi 3. I think I just really like the graphics and wish the gameplay was better. Weird dream lol
Sorry about this, the video is nearly 3 hours long but I’m experiencing this old glitch where it’s only showing the last 5 seconds. I’m attempting to sort it now, should be good in an hour or so

So wait, is this a "remake" of the previous Tenkaichi video with a bunch of added content, or are the two still separate analyses?
The former

Shocked to see you have not a larger amount of views or subscribers. This was very well made and enjoyed it very much!
In the first few minutes of the video I know I'm watching top-notch content.

2:17:15 people really want their opinion to become fact. Tenkaichi 3 is literally the best variation of a fighting game for years to come
Love the crt filter :)
Amazing vid

Ryo Mito must've hated Burst Limit and Raging Blast
Tenkaichi>Budokai
Tenkaichi had better gameplay, better character models than Budokai.
I ❤️ Budokai but Tenkaichi is superior. 👌🏻
1:56:34 The joke is outdated now lmao
Budokai Tenkaichi is juss a hard ass name I swear
1:56:39 lol now you gotta add him
When I hear tenkaichi what I think of is...ROMAN O TSUKAMITORE TENKAICHIIIII

I never liked how Tenkaichi tended to split characters into eras.
I wish they fix sparking zero 😢
Why is this video 5 seconds long and people in the comments are talking about it being 3 hours?

I was wondering if it was a joke 😂
@@Spider-Man42069 Video is up again, sorry for the initial confusion
