    Great size and I love the idea that I can use my everlast plasma cutter to cut one up for myself. You guys did a great job on your cooker.

    Like everything except the lighter fluid, don't need that. Use a charcoal starter or electric or even a small blow torch. Adding the fluid is not only dangerous but bad for the food. Just a thought. Would love to see more cooks on your setup, looks awesome!

    It depends on how long it is opened. I have never timed it because it has never been an issue. If I had to guess I would say 5 -10 minutes.... We only open it long enough to baste the meat so it's only a few minutes until the temp comes back.

    Nice cooker. Looks pretty simple to build. Just wonder how long it takes to get back up to temp one the door has been opened.

    Now that is nice size cooker. I really like the result but you should learn how to weld. I know when I'm making stuff the journey is as much fun as the result and I really enjoy using my powerarc to make stuff.

      I thought about learning to weld on this project but decided against it because it takes a while to get nice welds. So I went with the
      nuts and bolts. I thought it would be a nicer looking job at the end. I little joke I saw on facebook " Daddy says if you have to use a
      grinder to make a weld look good, you're not a welder, you're a grinder". LOL

    Looks like a charcoal and propane grill.

      +mr777davidben It does have a propane gas burner and a charcoal tray. Able to cook using either gas, charcoal or both.

    Interested in how you guys did the propane and what you used.

      If your asking about the propane burner. A friend made that out of 1 inch black steel pipe. He cut slits in the pipe every 1/2 in or so. One end is capped off. The other end has 90 degree bend with 4 in square intake with cross bar to mount the gas orfice. Lot of TH-cam videos on building burners. Hope this answers your questions.

    What size/gallon drum is this? This is about what I have in mind to make.

    • @MrGrillin123
      @MrGrillin123  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its referred to as 150 Gallon, It measures 48" x 30", It's not huge but can hold a lot of food

    • @bareavis

      Thanks! Going to look for that size drum

    What size tank is that and how big of a pig can it fit

    • @MrGrillin123
      @MrGrillin123  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The barrel is 48" x 30" its considered to be 150 gallon drum. I've cooked 100 lb pig, 2 halves. You don't have much room for anything else after that. One 55 lb or 65 lb half and you have room for some chicken around the pig.

    What that tray u used to hold the Charcoal

    • @MrGrillin123
      @MrGrillin123  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ken Allen The tray is a metal bin from a utility truck. We shortened it a few inches, drilled holes in the bottom so ash would fall through and allow the charcoal to breath.
