And yes, I am a little concerned that Gari might try and jump off his balcony to get to the other piggies. Pipsqueak is so adorable when he's checking out his balcony and then complains cause the fleece tunnel isn't exactly where he wants it to be. :) That moment when Nate is coming up the ramp and when he peeks up over the balcony floor... sigh... my heart is melting. I had to rewind that part and stop the video just to took at him a little longer. :)

He has his own bed and even eats with his sister's there is four food dishes two of Wyllo and Ruby food and two of Chester food and they all get their vegetables. And believe me if I miss the morning routine I will hear it from all three.... Great job, love the set up. Lofts are great, they provide extra room for the piggies without taking up more of your own space and they also provide a darker, quieter area where they can relax, hide or get away from a cage mate.

I've been watching your videos for about a week now...very informative definitely need to educate myself on taking care of guinea's. Some years ago I had a piggy her name was shelby and to be honest I had no knowledge of how to take care of her only what petco told me, long story short she died and I couldn't understand why I thought I was doing everything right I cried for like days. I am glad I stumbled upon your videos I am now preparing and looking into getting 2 girls. I'm super ecstatic and thanks to your videos I now have that knowledge thank you and God bless ❤ your piggies are beautiful☺
The new cages are awesome! I had a piglet that preferred his loft..spent most of his time up there, except to eat hay and pellets below. My other little guy couldn’t get used to the ramp and would stretch his body just to reach the loft 🤣 he also learned to push his treat ball up the ramp so he could lay at the bottom and collect his treats 😑 totally defeated the purpose of the ball hahaha. I think lofts are a great way for them to get exercise. ♥️
That was a brilliant idea. It's brighter and lighter. Easier to reach and clean. You don't have to take apart the whole 2nd level like before. I like it alot. And you can see the piggies better too. Great job Scotty!

I just got my c&c cage yesterday for my girls I'm quite short so I used grids to build the stand for it to go on so j can reach the back part easier and I am loving the c&c unlike other cages I can add to it and this video just gave me some ideas for there cage.
So for about a two and a half months I have been doing a lot of research to prepare for when I am able to get Guinea Pigs, but the down side is where I live there are no available shelters or rescues that have small animals. My only option is to buy from a pet store or go on Craigslist and wait to find a bonded pair but I haven’t recently seen anyone rehoming guinea pigs. I really have no idea what to do I know if there are other options buying Guinea-Pigs from pet stores should be avoided at all times. So this is why I am troubled because I was hoping since I had the money now I could try and get them soon.
AylaMT totally understand. Don’t have anything like that around me either. I will say I’ve had terrible luck with stores (sick pigs, big vet bills etc so it might be worth it to just keep calling shelters and waiting for some to come up. Or try a Facebook group or something. Wish piggie rescues were everywhere!

I put food on top and hidies on the bottom or vice verse. Lots of built in exercise. I agree with having some kind of quick release or hinged wall if you have a large overhanging loft. My antisocial pigs figured out quickly to press to the back of the cage under the overhang and laugh at me while tried to reach them.

James Fetterman I actually just used card tables with heavy shelving over it to get the footage I need. And def try fleece if you haven’t. Absolutely love it compared to anything else! So much easier and just pop it in the wash. Good luck

I started watching when Billy lost the weight & was not well. So I thnk I just got so into Billy, he just kind of struck me. lol found the loft tips I needed, and when my male piggie is neutered and reunited with the females I'm gonna make a 2 x 3 loft. maybe make it lower so that the ramp doesn't get too steep. Thanks for the video and ideas
Had a cuy that looked just like him. It was a she and got a stranglating tumor that stoped her urination at only a year and a half old. That's the problem, cuys aren't adapted to domestication/cross-breeding enough causing health probs. Good luck. Oh hey! The LA gp rescue. I donate to her. Good job.

Pine or Fleece, Carefresh and similar products are expensive and don't smell that great once they get wet, but they are good to sprinkle over top of the pine or specifically in an igloo
Generally speaking guinea pig should not need bathing. But also it seems that Piggies on fleece end up smelling more like pee. Don't hate me fleas people. So in general guinea pigs don't really need to be bathed. Once or twice a year, but some guinea pigs need to be bathed more often because of certain situations. If they have been in a carrier, carriers are not as clean as a regular cage.

heather breuer a lot of larger stores carry them like target, Walmart or home depot. Love them, so easy and just connect them with zip ties. Just switched to fleece with the u-haul pads and really love it. So much better!
I love big pigs and I cannot lie! Billy reminds me of my Napoleon. They have similar markings on the face. I also just want to snuggle Gari's chubby cheeks!

Hi Scott. I know this is unrelated, but, I am looking for any second opinions I can get. I have a 10 month old abyssinian, named Whiskey. I've had her for 8 months. (she has 2 cage mates but she's under quarantine right now) She recently, 2 weeks ago came down with a URI. Of course went right to the vet and got meds. Now 2 weeks later nothing has improved, its gotten worse. Back to the vet, and they said she may have pneumonia. More antibiotics, but she won't take them willingly, we force her. (very odd for her, she usually wants ANYTHING edible) she's not eating her veggies, or pellets. She only eats a tiny tiny bit of hay a day. A few days ago she was eating her critical care food willingly but now we have to force it down her throat. I'm very worried, any advice?

Generally speaking guinea pig should not need bathing. But also it seems that Piggies on fleece end up smelling more like pee. Don't hate me fleas people. So in general guinea pigs don't really need to be bathed. Once or twice a year, but some guinea pigs need to be bathed more often because of certain situations. If they have been in a carrier, carriers are not as clean as a regular cage.
Sometimes all they need is a bum bath especially older piggies and those with long fur. But like the others said, you don't need to bath them

heather breuer a lot of larger stores carry them like target, Walmart or home depot. Love them, so easy and just connect them with zip ties. Just switched to fleece with the u-haul pads and really love it. So much better!
Zip ties are the absolutely easiest best way to connect them!
I love big pigs and I cannot lie! Billy reminds me of my Napoleon. They have similar markings on the face. I also just want to snuggle Gari's chubby cheeks!

Hi Scott. I know this is unrelated, but, I am looking for any second opinions I can get.
I have a 10 month old abyssinian, named Whiskey. I've had her for 8 months. (she has 2 cage mates but she's under quarantine right now) She recently, 2 weeks ago came down with a URI. Of course went right to the vet and got meds. Now 2 weeks later nothing has improved, its gotten worse. Back to the vet, and they said she may have pneumonia. More antibiotics, but she won't take them willingly, we force her. (very odd for her, she usually wants ANYTHING edible) she's not eating her veggies, or pellets. She only eats a tiny tiny bit of hay a day. A few days ago she was eating her critical care food willingly but now we have to force it down her throat. I'm very worried, any advice?
