First time watching your channel, I love love love Korean food so much. And this is one dish I can’t get enough of, lol. I also eat kimchi on the side. I also watch Aaron and Claire from Seoul Korea for my Korean dishes. My husband said that he truly believes I was born in the wrong culture, since I love Asian food so much, lol. I will definitely be watching your channel again, I set my notification button. Sending you love from USA Kentucky.

Hiya Helen. Thanks for all your videos. Not sure if you’re aware, e.v olive oil is not recommended for (stir frying) cooking with as it is considered carcinogenic above 180c (not sure what that is in F). You can use a regular olive oil instead and save your e.v.o for dressings and garnishing instead. Just a suggestion.

Hi Mike! Yes, these are aka as Korean glass noodles, but these are different from other Asian "glass noodles." Korean glass noodles are made from sweet potato starch, DanyMyeon/당면. Here is the written Japchae recipe with more info www.modernpepper.com/post/japchae

My husband always loved this dish and had asked me to make it for him some time ago. The dish turned out very un-flavorful and very bland. I used this recipe and it turned out fanfabutastic! Thanks Helen!

This is so much easier than the recipe I've been using! It has at least 3 different marinades depending on the ingredient. It does bring a bunch of different flavors together, but this will be a game changer for me!
I adore japchae and thankfully one locally owned grocery store sometimes has the noodles. We stock up anytime we see them!

But isn't the traditional is boil it first and then wash it in running water?

I just made Maangchi jepche quick recipe and it was delicious everything all cooked in one pot together. And no prepackaged sauces either. Just soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, black pepper and sesame oil. One package was not enough!! She's working way too hard!!

@@floridagoods Hi 👋. I’m sure Maangchi’s quick one pot japchae recipe hack was delicious! And great that you enjoyed it. I’m sure that she would love to see your comment above on her japchae recipe comment section.
FYI - Japchae noodles (called DangMyun) are always boiled in water first, for traditional way of making japchae. Japchae is made in many ways, pan fried or braised in seasoned broth. My japchae recipe is a traditional way of making this dish, but with insider tips to make it less intimating.
As for working hard, yes I absolutely work hard to produce authentic Korean recipes for our non-Korean friends that want to replicate traditional taste of Korean dishes.

BTS is an empire with so many products in their arsenal of marketing strategies. They sell coffee, makeup, recipe books, and the list goes on and on. I’m very proud of their global influence and successes💚🇰🇷
As for BTS’s JapChae, I have not read their specific recipe, but I’m sure it is delicious!
In general, JapChae is made in many variations and methods. Some r on the oily side, dry side, and/or wet with more broth drenched noodles. Also, depends on if it is made quick and simple version or gourmet. Or a casual version using just a few ingredients or traditional with all the fixings.
