The nostalgia this song holds is quite literally painful but beautiful. Guess there’s a comfort in knowing those moments will echo through time for all eternity. Nothing truly dies.

THE biggest emo-pop punk band actually if you don't count FOB (since their new material isn't emo pop) and definitely not MCR (emo purists will detest you.) The only other one is probably the Get Up Kids and Jawbreaker
MCR would be the biggest, but they dropped the emo sound when they recorded revenge, the album they broke into mainstream with. The actual biggest emo band is probably Taking Back Sunday. JEW is definitely up there on the list of most successful ones though.

There's so much energy in this song that it feels like it's about to explode the entire way through. It hits you like a freight train. It penetrates your soul and makes you stop whatever you're doing and just listen. I've been "listening" to this song on repeat for a few weeks now. I just sit and watch the whole music video and it takes me on this amazing rollercoaster ride of emotions. Speaking of this music video: it is an absolute masterpiece! I love the strangeness of it and the fact that wherever they go that humble bedroom studio follows them around. All those people that you see frozen in time as this song plays... well I think I've figured it out: this song just moves so fast you can't keep up - just hang on for dear life! I LOVE the comparison between the drums and engine pistons! It's perfect - the drums are literally driving this song forward - blasting towards the horizon. As a matter of fact, this whole song is the sort of music that would've been perfect in the Burnout 3 Takedown soundtrack - that's the only visual experience (other than the music video) that I think could match the intensity of this song, without actually doing something dangerous! The guitar melodies are so unbelievably nostalgic and the vocal harmonies tug on your heartstrings. It makes you feel the pain of losing something/someone that you love (not just in a relationship context), but the joy comes in that feeling of letting go, finally being free of that pain and singing at the top of your lungs! A master-class in musical ensembles. Every element from lead and rhythm guitars, to bass and the drums were all together as one in perfect unison and harmony. A lot of thought and a lot of effort went into composing this and it really shines through

There's a benefit to being behind on the times when it comes to music, on the one hand, having never listened to Jimmy Eat World before today, I've been missing out. On the other hand, I will now be hearing every song by them for the first time, something many wish they could relive.
I still remember the very first time I heard this song. I was up in my room listening to Q101 and playing video games. The guy on the radio announced this a new track from a band with, "one of the weirdest names I've ever heard". Damn, as soon as that first "whoa-oa-oa" starts I swear it's like a flood of sweet nostalgia. This song sounds so familiar to me, I'm sure I must've heard it before when I was younger, maybe even several times, but I can't recall where. It might've been one of the songs my older brother listened to? All these years later and it's still such a bop, I'd completely forgotten it until now though. Crazy how music can do that, transport you to a different time/place with a simple riff.
I saw them live a couple of times, still one of my most favorite bands of all time. One time I was at a small venue where they were performing (I think it was in 2004 or 2005, could have been 2006 not sure), there was no gap or anything between the crowd and the stage, and I was standing right up against the stage, with these guys standing literally only 2 or 3 feet away from me. The energy they put into their performances is amazing. Jim Adkins (lead guitar and vocals) was sweating so heavily 20 minutes into the performance he made a joke about the front row getting so wet it was like being at Seaworld. Still, great performance, great band, great memories.

I think this is the greatest song ever made.
Not necessarily because it is the most technical or complex, but because of its beautiful melody, and how it makes you FEEL. There's so much energy in this song that it feels like it's about to explode the entire way through. It hits you like a freight train. It penetrates your soul and makes you stop whatever you're doing and just listen. I've been "listening" to this song on repeat for a few weeks now. I just sit and watch the whole music video and it takes me on this amazing rollercoaster ride of emotions. Speaking of this music video: it is an absolute masterpiece! I love the strangeness of it and the fact that wherever they go that humble bedroom studio follows them around. All those people that you see frozen in time as this song plays... well I think I've figured it out: this song just moves so fast you can't keep up - just hang on for dear life! I LOVE the comparison between the drums and engine pistons! It's perfect - the drums are literally driving this song forward - blasting towards the horizon. As a matter of fact, this whole song is the sort of music that would've been perfect in the Burnout 3 Takedown soundtrack - that's the only visual experience (other than the music video) that I think could match the intensity of this song, without actually doing something dangerous! The guitar melodies are so unbelievably nostalgic and the vocal harmonies tug on your heartstrings. It makes you feel the pain of losing something/someone that you love (not just in a relationship context), but the joy comes in that feeling of letting go, finally being free of that pain and singing at the top of your lungs! All in all, I really truly believe this is the greatest song ever made. I can't describe with words how it makes me feel, it will forever hold a special place in my heart. It hurts me to think that people I talk to every day haven't heard of this band or this song. I want access to the World's loudest speaker system to blast this song at people so they can hear this amazing music and feel the same way I do.

Damn, as soon as that first "whoa-oa-oa" starts I swear it's like a flood of sweet nostalgia. This song sounds so familiar to me, I'm sure I must've heard it before when I was younger, maybe even several times, but I can't recall where. It might've been one of the songs my older brother listened to? All these years later and it's still such a bop, I'd completely forgotten it until now though. Crazy how music can do that, transport you to a different time/place with a simple riff.
I saw them live a couple of times, still one of my most favorite bands of all time. One time I was at a small venue where they were performing (I think it was in 2004 or 2005, could have been 2006 not sure), there was no gap or anything between the crowd and the stage, and I was standing right up against the stage, with these guys standing literally only 2 or 3 feet away from me. The energy they put into their performances is amazing. Jim Adkins (lead guitar and vocals) was sweating so heavily 20 minutes into the performance he made a joke about the front row getting so wet it was like being at Seaworld. Still, great performance, great band, great memories.
