The message of the video is incredibly strong.... shows how everyone is having fun, partying with their clothes off, the kid feels weird taking his clothes off and finally finds someone who thinks the same. Born in 1991. I remember this song being everywhere in the summer of 2002, when I was going into 5th grade. ❤️
Born in 2001 and I remember hearing this song everywhere in the 2000s
20 something years ago, this song legitimately saved my life. My life at the time was particularly cruel, and filled with extraordinary abuse, and I had reached the point where suicide felt like the only escape option for the hell I was in.
While I was preparing, this song came on, and for whatever reason it resonated with me. It felt like the song was talking directly to me, and I just started crying, just absolute dirty crying. I curled up in a ball on my bathroom floor and put the song on loop and I must have dirty sobbed for an hour until my eyes hurt, trying to convince myself not to go through with killing myself.
This song coming on at the right moment is probably the only reason I'm still alive. For years afterwards, whenever I got close to giving up, I would put this song on.
It took several years but I finally escaped the situation I was in. And while my adult life was often pretty rocky, it was never as bad as it was when I was trapped. And fast forward, I met my partner in 2014, and today I am overwhelmingly happy and a person who everyday is grateful to be alive.
So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for this song.

Today I had to make a decision for my life that some people around me would not like or understand. After I was done this song popped into my head and I almost didn’t play it, but I did and the first time I heard it as I was riding my bike I wasn’t paying attention to the lyrics. It was on repeat so it played the 2nd time and then I caught on and realized how meaningful this song really is to me right now. I’ve heard this song plenty of times growing up but I never even noticed how great the lyrics are until today. I feel really blessed by it right now and I thank God for giving it to me when I needed it.
