Amazing Interview! Hopefully someday we will be able to see baba Ogunde's movie online. We also want Uncle Laja to please bring back his movie Edan back online, that was such an amazing movie with Lolo.
Dele Adeyanju, well done. Pa. Adelaja Ogunde is an old student of Methodist High School Ilesa. He was a member of our School Relay Team in 1970, anchoring the 3rd leg of the 4-member 100 metre Relay Team
This polygamy of a thing is always like that, but why are those grown up adults struggling and waiting for their father’s property to survive? Where are their children? Make haste while the sun shines, thanks Agbaletu for this interview
I just watched the interview done with chief Lana ogunde and I was blessed to have watched all four movies of late chief Hubert Ogunde as a young man in Nigeria AIYE , JAIYESIMI, AROPINTENIA, AND AYANMO and in this interview chief Lana said two of pa Ogunde "s films are lost,AIYE AND AYANMO are lost this is not true please can the Ogunde"s family involve our Nigeria"s ministry of art and culture and with federal infrastructures and through diplomatic involvements with the country or countries involved this movies will be found so far he knows what he is talking about on this two movies in a foreign land trust me no matter what happened to the so called studios this movies and all other businesses transacted by other people or other countries will all be in the national archives of the said countries and if it is money that is the problem of the Ogunde family they should involve our Nigeria government through all the associations of movies and entertainments in Nigeria trust me with good partnership all this movies will be found all the debt on all this movies will be paid because this was and is a project done by a proud and acclaimed man of theater if our Nigeria government gets involve there are some informations that the Ogunde it's self may not know as at present but these movies are not lost.
While i appreciate the effort of Mr. Adelaja Ogunde to orally account for historical events of great Hubert Ogunde. It is quite unfortunate that even the son of the icon do not have documentary evidence of activities of this great man. I think we African should begin to emphasize on record keeping for posterity. If Pa Ogunde had come from the western Europe or America he would have been institutionalized for the world to study.
Eyi yí gaa gan oooo Welldone Agbaletu May God solve the family issues Amen Ó gbenu tán oooo We love baba gan ni oo Pls I am waiting for when baba ogundes films will come out. I watched 3 or all of the celluloid movies 🎥 while I was in Ìfẹ́ Very powerful movies.
Good question’s excellent answer God continue to bless you agbaletu for intellectual approach.age with grace baba Adelaja Ogunde.I get many experience from this interview ile ola niyonu ni tooto
This man is a true Son of his father, he have the soul and spirit of their father, if giving a chance to look after the families it would have been greater, in families you have the good and the bad, it's the bad ones that are doing the families now and destroying the mighty work, families that their Legion father lift behind, very sad, may papa rest in peace, he has done his own part.
I dont know how people may understand this my word that education was one of the reason why uncle Adelaja is been edge out like this in his fathers heritage. Hear him saying that his brother Richard retired from Agip petroleum as a director, Bosede Victoria (oloruntegbe) ogunde also retired from the federal ministry of health And there is no ogunde that is More popular than this man. I think he should Alert the ijebu council of elders And ogun state government before those administrators destroy the name OGUNDE completely
Baba Adelaja , please go and find those films o.... Bcs unborn children and we that haven't watch the films must watch the films. It is a historical for the Yoruba traditions for the remembrance of Baba Ogunde.
Mr Dele what happened yesterday? I was watching the interview and it went away after 15 minutes, not to be found until this morning. You are doing a great job with this niche you have carved for yourself. Keep it up bro! 💪
I streamed the interview live yesterday but network gave the video some awful imagery. I had to make that private to recreate it in Audiovisual again. Thank you so much sir.
I'm disappointed not to hear Mr. Adelaja Ogunde mention that his father, Pa Ogunde, was at the initial stage of his career quite close to Zik. It was the West African Pilot, Zik's publication, that gave publicity to Pa Ogunde and his troupe at the initial stage of his theatre career in the 40s and 50s.
As a matter of fact, Kola Ogunmola was the first to feature and even star in a film, Klaus Stephan's Taiwo Shango (1965), by the Bavarian Television Service. In that first feature film in Nigerian history, which uses the same historical material as Soyinka's Death and the King's Horseman (1975), that is, the botched ritual suicide of the Olokun Esin of Alaafin Ladigbolu, Ogunmola played Otunba Fagade, father to Taiwo played by Christopher Kolade and Kehinde, played by Segun Olusola, creator of the Village Headmaster. His late wife, Elsie Olusola (Sisi Clara in the Village Headmaster). A recent research has brought all these facts to the fore.
I expected Agbaletu to ask uncle laja ogunde what his mothers name signifies ( ibisomi) sounds like an itshekiri name or ilaje s name or ijebu water sides name
I think Ade Love also produced a film before Ogunde, and he starred Ola Balogun's Ajani Ogun, and his own film, Ija Ominira, both of which were produced before Ogunde's Aiye, in which Ade Love also played a significant advisory role. Nonetheless, Ogunde remains the primus inter pare of Nigerian theatre
What we do not understand is that we know God well before Christianity. Besides each people has their own religion and there is nothing wrong with our traditional practice
It’s so sad, these is what polygamous home always bring. Same thing in the family home of Afolayan, despite the fact those people on the property are rich “owo o ki n’tolowo”. Baba ‘Laja Ogunde is also a well known , he should reach out to somebody like Ooni of ife & co
You’re right, that’s the problem of polygamy, once the main man die, everything he left behind will be destroyed, MKO is another case study, MKO used to be one of the richest black person in the world, with numerous companies, today you can’t trace any company to MKO, but Awolowo who’s not very rich but with 1 wife, all of his legacies are still standing up till today, one of Baba Awolowo granddaughter is Dolapo Osinbajo.

Now that the world is going digital, I also think that Baba Ogunde works should be immortalized among other Legends on the internet

Agbaletu, pls help me ask of adetutu his daughter from baba pls
I expected Agbaletu to ask uncle laja ogunde what his mothers name signifies ( ibisomi) sounds like an itshekiri name or ilaje s name or ijebu water sides name
It is a pure and complete Yorùbá name. Ìbíṣòmí literally means My family is big
Daddy, imo yin acetate nko?,she was my classmate at OAU,lfe.

Film is different from theatre
What we do not understand is that we know God well before Christianity. Besides each people has their own religion and there is nothing wrong with our traditional practice
Ogunmola died 1970

Adetutu not acetate

I think the wife of that elder brother is a proper criminal. The family Should hold her responsible for all that happen to the man
She's just lazy to go through the hospital stress
Ile ola niyonu, but those that are administrator are very bad people and self centred
They are in every family ooo My brother 😮
Polygamy and family dynamics!
