The problem I think is how suspect test and banning works. It is often easy for an offensive threat to be deemed "no counter" if it by definition, requires only one turn of setup and blow through everything and has an answer for unaware pokemon, but it's much more difficult to ban stall playstyle, which may involve complex bans. What also doesn't help is how trappers work. Encore Wobbuffet and Trick Gothittelle can force a stall mon out or make it much less useful, but shadow tag is too universal and quickly banned, Magnezone is too specific which enables Skarmory to legitimately run shed shell and not at a disadvantage, that leaves Dugtrio, a mon that deals with offense much better than stall.
The best strategy to use against stall players is to forfeit at team preview. If we all do that then they'll get bored of not actually being able to battle anyone, and will then use a different team. At the very least it means I don't waste any time slamming my face against a brick wall.
Had a Stall player who whines about hax when I crit his Quagsire with a crit Earthquake from Mega Garchomp. Was one of the most entertaining moments I’ve experienced in Showdown ever.
It’s funny because design wise one reason crits exist and function like they do is to discourage stall specifically. It rewards more aggressive play and discourages stall, because the more you attack, the more likely you’ll eventually hit a critical that can matter. If you’re expecting to take dozens of hits, you need to be prepared for a few crits among them
One of my fondest memories is sweeping an Ubers Stall team with a shell smash Minior. The other guy had no idea what its ability did, so he switched around to try and do something as I got to +6.
The ONE TIME, I don't fully prepare for stall is always the time that my best friend makes a stall team and I have to sit there and watch myself slowly die.
Now I want to get back to working on my False Stall team, it included only Pokemon like Toxipex (everyone forgets about Merciless) and Carbink but it was all hyper offense builds. Everyone would usually lead with Taunts or Encores only to get hit straight to the face
Don't forget when vanilla Sun and Moon was the last time where the life bar goes slow for every leftover recovery or u got leech seeded and you got chip damage for weather effects.
stall (hyper defence) and hyper offence is the team types which shouldn't be viable in a format for peak format potential. they are too extreme for a balanced game, offence, balanced and defensive teams are a good balance of team types for balanced skill testing games.

One of my fondest memories is sweeping an Ubers Stall team with a shell smash Minior. The other guy had no idea what its ability did, so he switched around to try and do something as I got to +6.
Sometimes when I am having a rough day, I like loading stall and seeing how it breaks down someone's spirit.
How come the thumbnail was changed from blissey to clodsire?
EDIT: WAIT NOW IT'S BLISSEY AGAIN
BKC gonna make another video because the mention of gsc being called stall
Let’s go with a rain team next video
3:36 "Complaints that stall isn't fun have been around forever, but they don't go anywhere." I see what you did there.
The ONE TIME, I don't fully prepare for stall is always the time that my best friend makes a stall team and I have to sit there and watch myself slowly die.
Didn't know FSG was into breakcore music. Much appreciated
Ah its anways fun to build a stall team and get death threats
Gen 7 UU stall was also incredibly amazing
STILL waiting for “How Good Was Amoonguss Actually…”
I miss Mega Sableye not because of stall.
I miss it because it let Sableye be viable.
That thumbnail lol😂😂😂
I like stall just because the feeling of withstanding stuff is good
good video, god bless big stall and tier king finchinator 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Fresh FSG Video?! Hell Yeah!
I'd like to see a video on sun, sand, or hail teams!
OGs remember when the thumbnail was blissey
Thumbnail is godlike. Respect
Now I want to get back to working on my False Stall team, it included only Pokemon like Toxipex (everyone forgets about Merciless) and Carbink but it was all hyper offense builds. Everyone would usually lead with Taunts or Encores only to get hit straight to the face
18:24 LMFAO What?!
The peak of stall was when in competitive tournaments the strategy was just about time and waiting for the timer to end.
I am SO freaking happy that defensive moves got nerfed in both PP and distribution.
Stall is still a threat, but is FAR more manageable now.
Anti-Stall mfs on their way to click Dragon Dance and one of Earthquake or Coverage Move to end the game for the 8290349875th time:
Don't forget when vanilla Sun and Moon was the last time where the life bar goes slow for every leftover recovery or u got leech seeded and you got chip damage for weather effects.
stall (hyper defence) and hyper offence is the team types which shouldn't be viable in a format for peak format potential. they are too extreme for a balanced game, offence, balanced and defensive teams are a good balance of team types for balanced skill testing games.
Next video pls on " how good was kommo- o actually" , it has been the most underrated pseudo legendary mon , and the only pseudo not yet covered in this channel 🙏❤️❤️
Chaddo-o
What about Dragapult?
@@skeetermania3202 pult has been for only 2 generations is quite popular bcoz of both anime and comp Pokemon, but kommo-o has been for 3 generations now still it's so underrated
SpongeBob will forever give birth to more memes.
Yes, we needed more balls advertisements, its been a while.
As someone that loved stall on Gen 6 and 7, this is nostalgic hahah. I don't like how hyper offensive was Pokémon in Gen 8.
Because you started to lose the moment the game forced you to use your brain u bum
One of the most satisfying things, are those crits against stall players that have just switched, recovered, repeat - you call the switch, you get a crit with a super effective hit and a core piece goes down.
Then they moan about it, not realising the main point of crits is to handle bulky-walls and -sweepers from becoming to overbearing
Dragalge, magcargo, drifblim or rotom and all of his forms! 💪💪💪
