얼마나 피나도록 홀로 외로운 싸움을 하며 연습했을까요.. 마지막인사하며 울음을 참는 모습에 저도 눈물이 나네요.. ㅠㅠ 손열음님. 정말 자랑스럽습니다!!!
When I first saw Yeol Eum Son, whom I still did not know, in this Competition, I knew immediately that I had made the greatest discovery of my whole life as a music fan. Seven years have passed, during which my admiration (or rather, my adoration) for this extraordinary woman has grown more and more.
I had already seen the four performances contained in this video separately, but seeing the full recital, (by the way with excellent audio) and (very important) the enthusiastic applause at the end, acquires all its greatness.
It's essential to remember that YeolEum closed with a flourish her very brilliant participation: the PC-21 by Mozart with which she won the prize for the best performance of chamber concerto. To this day the video already reaches almost 11 million views, and continues to grow...

If she is your greatest musical discovery, you have a long way to go. She’s a wonderful pianist, but she’s not in the same league as the all-time greats yet, at least.
5~6년전인가 챠이콥스키콩쿨에서의 손열음님의 카푸스틴
변주곡을 듣고 전율 그 자체였어요. 원래 재즈적인 곡이지만 어떻게 십대의 어린 나이에 저렇게 완벽한 해석, 감성과 테크닉을 보여줄 수 있는지. 아~ 새로운 시대에 천재의 탄생이다. 그 감흥은 이루 다 표현이 안될 정도였어요.
오늘 그당시 콩쿨 전곡을 듣게되어 더 감동입니다. 연주곡 올려주셔서 고맙습니다!
정말.. 12년도엔 손열음 피아니스트 덕에 카푸스틴만 듣고 지냈어요.. 지금 다시 들어도 그때의 향수가 ...ㅎㅎ 넘모 좋습니당...

네이버에 손열음 검색해보시면 86년생이라고 확인 가능합니다... 저 콩쿨은 2011년이구요... 저 때 당시 십대는 3등이었고 쇼팽 콩쿨 우승자인 조성진입니다.

I don't expect to ever hear a better live performance of the Humoresque than this: every note, every bar (& every silence!) is close to perfection, and the last 5½ minutes are utterly spellbinding. (@25' 50": even one member of the jury clearly thinks so too!)

What a marvelous talent, and with a great command of different styles. The Kapustin was a delightful surprise and she was spot on in her handling of the jazz.
Subtle, rich and nuanced playing with a great sense of pacing and timing. The whole concert was wonderful musical experience. This is an artist I will definitely follow. Thanks to whoever posted this.
If you like jazz played with monster classical technique, try Hiromi Uehara. Although Hiromi writer her own stuff.

I've lost count of the number of times I've played this video, and it gets better with every playing. I can't say that these are the 'best' performance of these pieces because I haven't searched for all the other renditions ... but why would I waste my time looking when this remarkable young woman plays them so beautifully. She is, without a doubt, one of the rising stars in a world crowded with fine pianists and I'm rapidly becoming one of her most ardent admirers.

Schumann's Humoresque (the first piece) is on first encounter a strange bird to grasp; like many of Schumann's works, layers of beauty reveal themselves on subsequent listenings. As someone who's tried to tackle it on piano, as well as having heard a number of versions; this is the best one so far...
Just give me the opening 3 mins of this magical and supernatural performance... that's worth the whole world for me!
My new favourite female pianist. No need to highlight any of her qualities as she has everything a true virtuoso requires. (The fact that I find her beautiful too is just an added bonus.)
If I had to choose one pianist to listen to for the rest of my life it would probably be a choice between her and Yevgeny Sudbin.

An absolutely superb talent. Surely one of the greatest among the modern greats. Hear also her rendition of Mozarts piano concerto 21, K467 which is beyond superlative if that makes sense! The massive and enthusiastic applause at the end of this performance says alot in recognition of her sheer brilliance.

Few are the artist who have this inner feeling for the music. Technical perfection is not the important aspect. What is the function of music? To make us happy. Ecstasy for some time afterall all music has got an origin from a seperate world, the world of music, created by whom? August Everding felt it and all Indians know it. It has been created by our Mahashakti and few are chosen to get the key by birth or before to enter this world by their intuitition and copy what they hear there. The composers are similar to the radio which hasn't created the music it lets us hear. The interprters feel like the composers more or less. And Yeo Eum has got the rate gift to transpose to us the wonders of music as it had been conceived. Thank you very much.

Hubert Geelen hi , just give you a general concept that playing without seeing note for many hours or many days is a basic requirement for a concert pianist ^^. It's very simple. Strictly speaking, many armature players can do that! However, she is still wonderful, but not because of said reason ~~ hahaha.
