Maybe the reason Lisa doesn't want to open the door to the room where Elvis lived is because Elvis may have a hidden tunnel entrance under his bed where he hides, just like Sean John Combs Diddy.
We visited Graceland a couple of years ago. Two things stand out: 1) the rooms are considerably smaller than we expected and 2) the place looks like the 1970s threw up all over it.
When I was on a tour there the tour guide said “Elvis only let people near to him upstairs or unless he invited you. So as he’s not here to invite you, you can’t go up.”
Elvis liked red, but knowing that, Linda decorated the house using a lot of it, and as his aunt Delta said, Elvis thought there was too much red! I prefer the blue and white that Elvis had done in the earlier years, it was also his choice at that time in his life. Imo, it's good there is a mix of the older 60s style and newer 70s decor in the house.

The upstairs is only for families only it’s better that way because it’s good for the family. The downstairs is for only for the people who are fans and we all respect the Presley family.
The public doesn't need to see the second floor EVER! He kept it private when alive, Lisa Marie followed and I'm grateful Riley is keeping the tradition. They deserve some privacy. I still cannot believe Lisa Marie is gone; we shared a birthday.
The blue is much nicer than the red. We visited Graceland shortly before Lisa Marie passed away. The red furniture and associated decor is actually on display in one of the museums on the premises. It is extremely garish--photos don't do it justice. Getting it out of the house was definitely the correct decision!
I always assumed they didn’t want tours upstairs because they wouldn’t want awkward questions about his death in the master bathroom, or more particularly photographs taken and used in conjunction with writing about it. But I guess that’s all common knowledge for a long time. I’m pretty sure the recreations in the Baz film were done very accurately for a glimpse of it. Wasn’t it also shown in a tv special by Prisc in the 80’s?
I like the blue and white. The red looks horrible. I read somewhere (I don't remember where) that Lisa Marie didn't want tourists gawking at the bathroom where her father died. I respect that. So much of his and Lisa Marie's lives were lived in the public eye. The upstairs of Graceland is the one special private space that's for family only.
1. Its private area of the home, private spaces like bedrooms, closets, bathrooms, etc. 2. People ONLY want to see where Elvis died. Morbid, but I get it, Im interested too. 3. Because some things in life are just not for the public to enjoy.
My boss would go there with his dad and hang out with elvis and his family he said he was a wonderful man.Theres a few photos of my boss's father and elvis are floating around the stories i have heard many stories about elvis from him even though he was young he remebered a good bit about him he would play with lisa maria.
The white and blue decor is beautiful, restful, and timeless. I can imagine him and his mom it in it. I dont believe Glagys would have liked everything red. It is not a color that would have looked good with the design of the house. The blue and white is tasteful and elegant, and what he would have wanted for his mom. I've been to Graceland 3 times, and have found the living room and dining room beautiful.
Aside from respect and privacy for Elvis’ memory, the house is structurally not able to withstand that amount of human traffic upstairs and would also not be handicapped accessible.
I went to gracelands in 2014 it was so beautiful I could feel is spirit in the house that feel will never leave me I touched his grave and picked up some seeds from the gardens I've manged to grow one of them witch is growing in my garden today I live in England everytime I water that plant I think of elvis what an entertainer the king 👑 I never wanted to up stairs neither should anyone be allowed ❤️👑x
We have his memory and his music... Isn't that enough ? All these 'mysreries' are created or played on by the hangers on, trying to get fame and fortune themselves by association. The guy was a legend, i'd rather remember him as he was , the king, the music and the decent human being that he was .
Damn man, it’s the Kings house, and where he spent his last minutes, would you really want to see where so many people’s hero passed away? It needs to stay as it is, as it was when Elvis lived there.
I love how he took care of the elders in his family. It says a lot about a person.
Thanks Riley, that was Elvis’s private sanctuary and I’m glad you went with your dear mother’s wishes. I think I read somewhere that when Elvis was alive he stated after he died he didn’t want anyone upstairs💚🍀💚🙏🏻🔥

True, but with time that can easily change, and probably EVENTUALLY WILL
What I suggest to preserve it isn't really much of a modification other than to put up glass walls on the doorways so you can still see in, but just can't enter
This idea was inspired by the Roblox game, theme park 2
When you build your park, you can designate certain off limits areas where people can see it, they just can't enter
When I was building my own in-game theme park, I also did this because there's certain areas of significance to me personally that I set up a certain way, and if I open my park for other players to enter, I'll have areas the players can enjoy, but other areas can be off limits, and the glass walls will prevent anyone from entering although they can still see it
If players like what I have blocked off, I can build another one for them based on my visitor ratio
So the glass wall idea from the game doesn't really require you to change the original structure, but it does put up barriers where people can still see what's blocked off, they just can't enter those specific spots
So if the family ever opened up the upstairs, they can put a glass wall over the entirety of the door and people can still see into those rooms, they just can't enter them
If there's a limited entry, you can make a pathway where people can walk a certain path, they just can't touch nothing because the glass walls would prevent that
Any carpet up there can be covered with a clear, durable wipe down material you can actually walk on, and it's easily wiped down and water repellent
I know if I had a public museum open for tours, this is exactly what I do, just put up glass walls over the doors where you can't enter, or I'd have a carefully prepared limited access where you can walk in on the walkway, but the glass walls would prevent you from touching ANYTHING
I did this in a Roblox game called theme park 2
I have certain areas within my tycoon that are off limits to the public, (but I can access them)
What I have in my area is customized for me, then I'll have other stuff in other areas for other players to enjoy
It's possible to block off certain areas if the family ever does change their mind and allow upstairs tours, but the glass wall will set limits because you WON'T be able to enter THOSE areas although you CAN SEE them

Good point about the bathroom. Thanks for your comment!
I loved Elvis Presley liven room White i didn't know that he liked the color Red ♥️
Thank you
1. Its private area of the home, private spaces like bedrooms, closets, bathrooms, etc.
2. People ONLY want to see where Elvis died. Morbid, but I get it, Im interested too.
3. Because some things in life are just not for the public to enjoy.
❤ i want to visit Graceland rip to the Presley family members at Graceland no longer with us may they rip.

He gave us everything. Leave him he rooms please😢😢😢
By today’s “Star” standards, this house is very modest.
I love the blue
I am sure it was nice for that era of time. Like all things with time, dated. I heard it was underwhelming to say the least. RIP Elvis.
Love the blue
Are there picture of the upstairs at least ?
Aside from respect and privacy for Elvis’ memory, the house is structurally not able to withstand that amount of human traffic upstairs and would also not be handicapped accessible.
Don't like the red. It's so harsh and over stimulating. White and blue is better.
