In the Nancy Rook (his house maid) interview she stated, "He never wanted the home opened up to the public. He wanted the trophy room open to the public, but he was gonna intend to do that his self if he had retired. He was gonna let 'em come through the hall there and go down through the trophy room on back by the swimming pool and on back around. "

Why would anyone want to see the upstairs is beyond me. That was a private living space and for family only. It is warming to knownthat Lisa's room was so close to her dad's and that he had his Aunt Delta move in immediately on her husband's death. Elvis kept his family close by, an admirable trait ❤
I understand why they keep it private, but I also understand why people would be curious to see it. I would love to see the entire house if it was permitted.
@@KiaraLemmone curiosity is fine but showing you were a stranger slept and spent most of his private and family time is a little odd to me. There is nothing to be gained from viewing it. I wouldn't like strangers snooping around my bedroom after I'm gone. Let the man rest in peace.
@@theapavlou3030 I said I understand why they keep it private. As for seeing where a stranger slept isn't exactly accurate. We all felt like we knew Elvis so he doesn't seem like a stranger. If he was a stranger to us we wouldn't even be interested in seeing any of Graceland.

@@Hawken707 it was also a family home where Lisa took her kids on holidays to feel closer to her father. This is a mark of respect for the dead and for his personal wishes. It's creepy to want to see where they slept, argued and generally fell apart as individuals and as a family. Just an opinion

If the house is suppose to be the way Elvis left it no matter if Priscilla didn't like it Elvis did. It should have stay red, since that is what Lisa Marie last shared with her dad .
Priscilla made it as she wanted even going as far as putting their wedding dishes on the table. Which Elvis probably never used after she left.
Rather Priscilla liked the red it wasn't her house anymore. It should have stayed as Elvis had it. If Elvis didn't like it he would have change it. The way people talk about him he didn't do anything he didn't want to. He also used the back stairs case in other interviews by others people that lived at Graceland.

Riley was just 5 when aunt delta passed.so sad she didn’t get to meet her GT Gt Grandma Minnie mae & her Grandad Elvis. Or Granfather vernon, or Grandmother Gladys but I believe she will preserve her Grandfather’s sacred home .please keep his bedroom closed. I believe he’d be real cross at that one. Aside from respect and privacy for Elvis’ memory, the house is structurally not able to withstand that amount of human traffic upstairs and would also not be handicapped accessible.

I do wish we could see at least a partial virtual tour of the upstairs. It's such an iconic mansion, they must know people are very curious. I understand not showing all the bedrooms, but it would be nice to show Elvis's bedroom. No one needs to actually go in there in person.

A blue decor is nicer than a red decor , as blue is a soothing/ calm color.
According to his Army buddy Rex Mansfield, who visited Elvis at Graceland in June 1958, Elvis’s bedroom had navy blue shag carpet and a white king-size bed. The staircase in the foyer had red carpet while the living room and dining room had white carpet and drapes, white furniture and gold accents. Obviously, the decor became more red as time went on, for whatever reason, but that’s the way it looked when his mother was alive.

Elvis liked red, but knowing that, Linda decorated the house using a lot of it, and as his aunt Delta said, Elvis thought there was too much red! I prefer the blue and white that Elvis had done in the earlier years, it was also his choice at that time in his life. Imo, it's good there is a mix of the older 60s style and newer 70s decor in the house.

I got to go to Graceland i loved it his house is so beautiful me and Lisa Marie had the same swing set but different colors mine was green and white Lisa's was yellow and white i saw her swing set i was like mamma we have the same swing sets i was so excited about that it was the first time i had something in common with my favorite singer we shared the something that was my favorite and the jungle room i wanted to decorate my room like that my mamma was like i dont think so iam like why its beautiful
The upstairs is only for families only it’s better that way because it’s good for the family. The downstairs is for only for the people who are fans and we all respect the Presley family.

When I was growing up no one went into some ones upstairs, if you had to potty you were escorted up and down.
The white and blue decor is beautiful, restful, and timeless. I can imagine him and his mom it in it. I dont believe Glagys would have liked everything red. It is not a color that would have looked good with the design of the house. The blue and white is tasteful and elegant, and what he would have wanted for his mom. I've been to Graceland 3 times, and have found the living room and dining room beautiful.
We have his memory and his music... Isn't that enough ? All these 'mysreries' are created or played on by the hangers on, trying to get fame and fortune themselves by association. The guy was a legend, i'd rather remember him as he was , the king, the music and the decent human being that he was .

The blue and white are much more to my taste, but it wasn't my home. It should have been left as Elvis wanted it in red.

Go look up Paris Jackson and compare her to Lisa Marie. Lisa and Michael were trying to have a baby. I think k Michael used Lisas eggs and had Debbie Roe carry as a surrogate. Paris may not even know but if you look at them it’s haunting! Plus it is incredible to have a child of such music royalty!

The commentary sounds very robotic so I'm disappointed that the creator of this channel couldn't even really be bothered to do her own commentary has an Elvis fan I am convinced that Linda Thompson had a hand in the red deco because she was very fond spelling Elvis's money on aesthetics. Blue was Elvis's mother's choice blue was Elvis's mother's choice and they only changed the curtains and rugs two red for the Thanksgiving and Christmas season so the blue and white that we see now had more sentimentality sentimentality because it was chosen by his mother the red and gold was more 70s and the red on its own misused for seasonal holidays was used for seasonal holidays. On the TH-cam channel Memphis mafia kid it was mentioned that they could either decorate one room in the 70s style and leave it or they could choose perhaps one month in a year to display the 70s furniture the chase that drapes and decorations for Christmas so they do have the staff to do this kind of thing, the quotes about not shaking the structure of the building is it a little misleading Riley is talking about adding elevators to the house to allow access easier for disabled an older visitors how can I add elevators without changing the building some how? I heard the idea of upstairs access was a no go due to its private nature and the amount of damage that maybe done to the stair carpet and in all honesty would we really want to see where he died? I do believe the a virtual tour of upstairs maybe available in the future
