The depression was a hard time for the Presley's and many families. Thank God that Vernon moved them to Memphis. It was the perfect place for Elvis to start his career. From the day Elvis walked into Sun Recording Studio Elvis only wanted to be able to take care of his parents. I think that people made up a lot of things about Elvis and his family. I think that Elvis had wonderful parents. Elvis was a true gift to the world. He became an icon and true legend and was able to make sure that his parents had no more financial hardships. I don't think that Elvis was meant to grow old. God Bless Him.

@@MouseyBelle-wx4ddYou are so wrong! They both went through it, as did thousands of other families. My own family did. My mother's mother died when she was 10 and the baby was only 6 months old. My grandfather had to split up the 6 children to other families because times were so hard. I remember my grandfather talking about the government put in a program called the EPA to put people to work doing manual labor, building roads etc. so they had a little money to survive. They had to move from Kentucky to Ohio because there is was a better chance of finding work. ( Just like Vernon and Vester moved to Memphis for the same reason.)

Lisa had a previous weight reducing surgery that caused her small bowel to cause pain so severe her heart went into a fatal cardiac arrest.

Bless you and your family! ❤ I’m sure that was a very tough time. Yes, those ages are so similar! There’s no doubt that you know what it’s like. As Lisa said, “Grief does not stop or go away in any sense, a year, or years after the loss. Grief is something you will have to carry with you for the rest of your life, in spite of what certain people or our culture wants us to believe. You do not “get over it,” you do not “move on,” period.” She was devastated as I’m sure you were or are. ❤️ Thanks for sharing!

Lisa had problems but it wasn't from a surgery it was from not being able to cope with her son's untimely death the last time she was seen on TV was with the actor who portrayed her father and you could see she was back on her drugs again and i wonder if she even remember being there

If Elvis had raised Lisa Marie instead of her mother Lisa may have been like her father and helped people who needed it her mother was only interested in the money from Graceland and that's why she was going to sue her own granddaughter until she got a controlling interest in Graceland again and she almost lost it anyway because she has always been selling bits and pieces of it that's why Lisa could never move back home like she always wanted to Priscilla was only worried about the money not Lisa or her grandbabies

I've done some research on the genealogy of Elvis and it's interesting to see both parents sides lived and were born in America as far back as you can go. He is the true American hero!
Elvis hinted at wanting to be black with a base voice but there was no African Americans as from what has been documented.
Vernon's side is as white as it gets and hails back to Germany, Scotland and Ireland.
Elvis mums side can count in Native American Cherokee, from several generations back but there is a photo of Morning Dove White a Cherokee woman.
Something Elvis would have been very proud of if he knew about it.
This connection was on Elvis mother's paternal side. Glady's own mother was of Jewish descent but it's hard to find evidence from what jewish family this was. Gladys was firmly Christian but knew of her Jewish connection.
The Melungeon idea that's been spread about lately is probably not true but people make guesses because Elvis coloured his blond hair black and kept a suntan that was enhanced with tanning tablets.
Anyone who knows about Elvis story and the man he truly was would also know he was proud of Americans of all colours and would be proud of having any mixture in his DNA because he loved all humans and was very proud to be an American.

Unfortunately due to a few different books and an article by a doctor Elvis did have a genetic abnormality and other health issues passed down from his mother's family. The genetic abnormality hyperextended his joibts which is why he could move like he did. However it also caused him to experience a lot of pain as he aged. Then there was the glaucoma and heart disease. That's why he was on so many rxs including pain pills on top of the uppers and downers he was prescribed to keep him going with the grueling schedule he maintained.

The fact that Elvis's twin brother, Jesse Garon, was an identical twin of Elvis, means it less likely that he died because of a genetic problem. As Elvis lived to be healthy adult. So as identical twins, they will have inherited exactly the same genes.

      @TheEggmaniac 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

@@JustJoe711 Identical monozygotic twins absolutely do share exactly the same DNA. The both come from the same embryo, that was created by the same sperm and egg. The embryo has for some reason split in two during its early development, in the womb. Infact identical twins could actually be described as the same as clones. Sometimes identical twins can appear slightly different or have different personalities. This is down to how their genes are expressed differently in each individual. Which could be down to environmental factors.

But this is put down to mutations that can occur in individuals while in the womb. After the embryo has split into two. My wife is actually an identical twin. She is what is known as a 'mirror twin, 'where her and her identical sister are mirror opposites of each other. Isuppose it makes sense when you think about it. So my wife is right handed and her sister is left handed. Also she has a mark on her left ear, but her twin has it on her right ear.

They had friends. My family were friends with the Presley’s. My great grandparents. My family eventually moved to Memphis too, for work. But while in Tupelo they did have friends who helped and cared very much for them. And they were the kind of people who were very happy to see the success Evil had. They were loved just like family. I wish I had known Lisa Marie. She’s close to my age. I think we would have been friends. Some of the same values I grew up with Lisa was taught. Sorry she passed so young. I look for her girls to do great things. They are gorgeous, talented and smart. It’s too bad we all ended up in the big city where relationships were not as tight as back in Tupelo. But time marches on. And times change. People too. But the core of who they are doesn’t change. Those core values never change. And they teach the young those values. I understand some called Lisa Marie Memphis. I saw those values in Lisa. She was truly a Memphis girl no matter how far life took her. May they all rest in peace. ❤

back in those days it went on a lot people being closely related. cousins closely related having kids! There was even half siblings having kids! It is really sad because the children they have are born with health issues. There is also something called Hallervorden-Spatz. I knew someone who had half siblings born with this sickness. his half siblings both lived as children in hospitals until they passed away. Elvis was blessed to have lived a normal life. In those days when Elvis was born. It went on a lot cousins having kids together!

My Dad's Parents were Germans from the Ukraine, they were 1st Cousins, and Had 14 Healthy children! Matter of Fact I am related to Elvis about 10th Cousins! Yes it is not good to Marry close relatives, but not always do one twin not survive because of these reasons, since Elvis was Healthy!

Vernon and Gladys had 2 children not 1 and you almost said that. Vernon was a severe alcoholic and not able to work much and was incarcerated part of the times. A Black older male gentleman taught " the lonely " boy Elvis how to play the guitar!!! Let's not bring up Elvis singing style he over took. Not so sure about the family tree but I do know Elvis was AB neg. My guess is his Mom was also Neg blood-type and his Dad Pos. Most likely, Elvis got his Mom's Neg and his twin hot Pos.
Most Pos babes don't make it and/or the mom doesn't. This is because RH negative females are not to be pregnant with Pos blood.
No Negative blood can ever take Positive. My guess too is that Elvis and his brother were fraternal...not identical. Many AB's for some reason tend to have one set of twins. One makes it. One don't or both live or expire.
It's all about the blood mix.
