Well, the game changed months ago because a Chinese company released a better robot for just 16k, not 30k. The Tesla robot just walked on stage
But I think Tesla has to have their own robot dog version. I actually saw one either on Twitter or TH-cam of a robot dog variant that was able to climb up a ladder. It would be useful for homes where the furnaces are located in the ceiling attic, the robot dog climbs up the ladder into the ceiling attic, move through the crawl space to the furnace, properly removes the old filter/properly installs the new filter/do maintenance, then climb back down safely. If it needs help, then the owner can intervene via tele-operation. the humanoid robot would be great for maintaining a home’s boiler system, HVAC system, plumbing, cleaning roof gutters with appropriate equipment where they don’t need to get on top of the roof (the robot dog can handle that), cooking healthy food, laundry, dishes, aiding an elder family members with activities/transfers specially stroke sufferers, groceries, home defense, self defense (probably needs some light armor with the ability to deploy materials that can irritate or stun for an extended period of time), cleaning and maintaining the car.
The walking has definitely improved from the last video, the movements are more fluid this time. I mean look at how the knee moves, very buttery and fluid and human-like and from what I’m seeing is walking faster 😦😦😦

All that in-situ footage of the robot is entirely fake haha. Theres a reason that every robot company is focusing on industrial applications and not home use.
If there is a possibility, it will definitely come in the coming years. Even industry means hospitality also and it will need personal assistance. Remember mobile phones were a thing of imagination in star trek.
@@Soujyam yeah, but phones were an incredibly pivotal invention that had a clear need for wireless capabilities. We aren't crying out as a society for a robot to do our chores or minimum wage jobs. Why pay so much money for a robot bartender, only to have to pay for constant servicing and no doubt a subscription to a server.

As a previous comment said, this will have a great potential in the elder care industry. Imagine a nurse that is able to take care of a loved one 24/7.
As for the prices, humans are more expensive long term considering the training time and the labor rights that these machines won't have.
