Thank you for this tutorial! This is an old recipe that is best described from our elders. They rocked it and you captured all of this in the tutorial 💜😋👍🏼
Background music is supposed to be just that...in the background. But, in this case, the human was the background. You have to listen hard to even hear her. I sure wish the music was significantly quieter.
You do need a cup of water. I've seen another video where she adds butter and oil to the cake mix. She shared her recipe with Southern Living as well www.southernliving.com/recipes/smith-island-cake

Looks absolutely delicious 😋 ❤
Love this , but could do without the background music.
My thoughts exactly. Too loud.
Couldn't you do this by using a wire cutter device or something like floss? Just curious? Id think it would be way faster?
Duncan Hines? Interesting,
What diameter cake pans?
The music is so loud you cannot hear anything your saying
Very true.
Same thing I came to say. I would have much rather heard her.

Just an FYI: they left out the water on this recipe. You need to add about 1/2 cup.
What size cake pans does she use? 8 or 9 inches?
I believe 9 inch. That's that standard for Smith Island cakes.
Any one know how much she’s putting in each cake pan? I only have two so I’m not sure how much to dump in
In her other video she says about 3/4 cup. I put 2/3 in mine.
In your other video, you added a cup of water and used butter instead of the oil. So is that a newer recipe than this one?
Yes, it is a newer recipe, replacing the butter with oil. However, you still need to add about 1/2 cup of water. Sorry that got missed.

Please watch and listen to your own video. Would really appreciate a list of ingredients, amounts and directions! Happy baking!
Why the loud music???!
Duncan Hines the best
Why the music? It drowns out the speech.
music is not necessary, pleaseeeeee
Gum chewing is annoying!!!
