A lot of « Japanese Nuance » in his words are kind of mistranslated, which give the impression of « final » in the meanings but aren’t quite what he really meant.
Honestly after Relink is over I'm looking at SAO Fractured Day Dream That game looks similar enough to scratch the itch with a bit more value attached to their class system
yeah, i had to realize that this isnt a live service, so I got my money's worth once I paid for the game. Them adding these characters and still updating is just them being nice and considerate. I do want it to live on and have more content (even through dlcs) but if it does die in a month or two, I played 400 hrs worth so I cant complain.
@@Furieas yeah, i'm surprised there's no swimsuit DLC, if this was a DOA game, there'd be 3 types of swimsuit DLC packs, a bathtowel dlc, idol clothes dlc and all sorts of clothes already
@@f.b.l.9813but they already have summer version of some characters like Zeta yet they don't want to make character skin for them but the easiest and lazy way is just palette swaps. I just want Zeta summer skin and Monika as DLC playable.
They'd 100% do paid expansions for the game, if not a direct sequel. The game has come too far in too little time to scrap it now, doing that will only waste the opportunity they got from such a successful release not to mention disappoint the huge following they've already gotten. In my eyes they're just purposefully being vague to keep the players on edge and to control our expectations, after all one of the main reasons relink was successful was because no one expected it to be THIS good.
They probably will release some content sometime within the next year at least, the game is popping and they said they would consider it depending on community feedback
i think the issue would be is that they didn't expect it to succeed as much as it did, so the updates they did were just few, unlike lets say mhw world's updates leadning into iceborne where it was expected. We're probably not gonna see anything for a while if they do plan on doing more.
as a browser gbf player since day 1 the fact that relink is actually came out and had many people who didn't know granblue ip existing become fans already makes me happy and i think the devs who working on the game also feel the same and i will still support granblue franchise even if they stopped updating relink
All Relink needs to keep the playerbase is more fights. They can easily make Proud+ bosses from the older versions of bosses. Give us fight vs Id on Proud, Angra Manayu proud, Tayu'tar proud. Reskin the bosses or combine multiple ones into new fights like the drakes. Maybe make a quest where bosses appear after each other with increasing HP and/or damage. That + skins as paid DLC.
I would love to fight a harder Versa. Also they can just make tower of babel structure that you fight each boss till you get to the last stage like in og game.
@@serenity3157 my dream right here, a harder versa. The fight itself is fun, many raid mechanics and the music is sick. They could do many stuff with what they already have.
More harder fight means more perfect build, if the build cant even completed by most people, how can the fight be more hard when player cant? Or they can just release a new weapon with more damage cap increase and power, problem solved
You kinda hit it at the start of the video. It was a passion project to promote the series just like Edgerunners anime was for CyberPunk. I dont think it was ever the plan to have Relink be a full on live-service getting updates till the end of time. The model its built on just isn't lucrative enough for that.
I've played the browser game for 6 years strong (would not recommend it to my worst enemy or my closest friend) and I've poured maybe close to 100 hours split between the PC and PS5 versions of Relink and I just bought Seofon and Tweyen's dlc despite being down to grind them out anyway. I and a lot of my crewmates have spent nearly thousands on the browser/gacha game on skins alone - it'd be an easy way to get revenue into Relink with how many alt outfits/skins a lot of these characters have. The content delivery style so far it evokes the same vibes with how Capcom supported Monster Hunter World well beyond the scope of it's expansion via community events and optional dlcs. Also, Sandalphon alone will bring in a ton of revenue in May. He's like the franchise's golden boy next to the Dragon Knight Quartet. His Valentine's Day, Summer, and Grand Alts all did insane numbers for the game. The closest Mihoyo comparison I'd have is like maybe Childe or Bronya levels of popularity. I can certainly see development slow down but never truly stop on a game like Relink. The team and the GBF community are far too passionate to let the game truly "die." Your voice also has a striking resemblance to this one other gacha content creator I follow, probably just a coincidence.
i love this game so much, i really truly do hope we get more there's so much from the og granblue game that they could adapt into a real time 3D action RPG...the characters...the IMPOSSIBLE-difficulty raid bosses...ahhhhh
It took that long because it got abandoned by the original team before Cygames in house team continued on it. If it didn’t get into that development hell, it would come out way earlier unless the devs at Cygames were incompetent.
@@MaidenlessScrub Yeah, i still remember there was so much drama back then and ppl seem not to happy when Cygames took over but turns out they made the game really good .
Just cause 1.2 and 1.3 are the last pre-planned updates, doesn't mean we don't get new dlc/updates down the line. Even if it may take longer than the month cadence they've been keeping up until now. They themselves said they'd like to keep working on the game as well, so I really don't think we need to doom so hard. Even if Relink doesn't absolutely rake it in, it's not like the company's pockets aren't deep anyway. If it really is the end of the updates (which I think it isn't), I still got more than my money's worth and it's absolutely a game I'll keep coming back to.
this, all we have is what you said, its all pre planned updates that was already decided on, after that is all up to them if they wanna continue it since its all unknown now on what they wanna do going forward
If they wanted money, they could just make costumes for the characters. People buy battle passes and skins in Granblue VS Rising because they look good and not that expensive. If Relink release skins then people will buy them. They don’t even have to make brand new designs (except for Id) because the browser game and versus already have plenty.
Love the game, and Hope they realize that they sit on a potential gold mine if they put thought into making microtransactions. Fans love the game and pretty sure they would gladly support them. (Just add sum outfits for not too much money and BANK IN)
About "the concerns", one thing to know is that the main director of the franchise is interested in adapting it in multiple genres. We already seen an example with Re:Link being ActionRPG and Versus/Rising a fighting game. These games are like side stories to the mobile game, so it makes sense that eventually they only get bonus content once in a while if at all. The series have tons of potential and funny enough "a rythm game" is the genre they want to explore the most. Which sounds strange until you learn about the numerous "idol themed side story events" (Gran and Djeeta formed a band after SOMEHOW meeting...Which, thanks to the fighting game a timeline where it happens do exist) and the multiple muscian characters from other bands who joined the crew. It's not even a joke, they could hold a full on orchestra-rock concert. There's also many more dancers than Yuel and Societte, that's another good side for rythm games. Another genre that could be explored is racing games (wipeout/Fzero style?) thanks to the Platinium sky events. (I'm sure everyone remembers the theme song) Want some tactical RPG game? Robomi events could take a note or two from SRW's book. So, in the end it's less about making the games last forever and more about experimenting, from what I understood from multiple interviews.
i mean the devs stated several times in the past that it's not a live service game and the only planned updates we've got so far is 3 patches so i think we all expected it'll end at some point, and i'm kinda glad it's not a live service game that's constantly adding limited time events, most of which are mundane time wasters that you only do to get limited precious currencies or gems, or having to play even more boring daily quests because again, it's one of the few sources of precious gems, it feels nice being able to play a game, finish it and move on to another if I wanted to, especially coming from genshin where i found myself just slogging through boring limited time quests because PRIMOS! ever since quitting genshin i've been able to play much more games since that game no longer took the free time i had with it's daily quests and limited time events. finally got around to playing Resident Evil Village and finished Tales of Arise which I put on hold when Genshin released. I only have so much free time in a day to play 1 game, having a live service gacha game takes up all of that, so i guess gachas just aren't suited for my schedule so it's a good thing, at least for me that Relink is just a normal game that you play and finish instead of a nearly never ending virtual kiddy casino. just hoping that several years down the line, there's still some people playing it online since I tend to feel like going back to older games a few years later just to hop in for a few rounds, I still play games like Generals Zero Hour and Battlefield 2/4 from time to time.
The thing is live service doesn't HAVE to have those things. Many people are used to daily quests, weekly events etc from gacha games. When I think live service I think like MMOs, a patch every 2-10 months that adds a couple of new things to do, and an optional cosmetic cash shop. No FOMO stuff, all the content stays in the game afterwards. I hate the "bad" live service games, but GBFR has the chance to be one of the good ones, as long as they can fund it and there's enough interest. But as you said they already made it clear its NOT a live service, so it is what it is
@@BraxAlter Helldivers 2 is also a good example of how to do live service game. The grind isn't really daily and you just come back to unlock new weapons every once in a while and you are all caught up. For the people show stick around, they get the "live service" feel through the Galactic Map conquest
I pray they have something to keep it going. And it sucks that live service/gacha is the only way to have a game be profitable now. As long as the micro transactions aren’t ridiculously predatory, i will support this game. This game was so fucking refreshing considering the vast majority of games today. Passion projects like this should be supported for a really long time.
They talked about a potential part 4 for the stream so hopefully (maybe) they'll tackle what's coming or what's planned next. I really do love this game and I'm willing to support It as well, It's been ages since I last played something that didn't feel like a flop or disappointment, I'm down for paid DLCs, cosmetics and whatever man, and I'm sure there is a huge portion who're willing to do pay for everything, I just want this game to stay alive as well as continuing to thrive.
theres also the fact that they themselfs said they would support the game for a year if possible so something happened or something is translated weirdly, doesn't help that theres a collab emote on 1.3 as of today so we know theres still stuff thats unknown to us still
Just thinking about it makes me sad. I really love GBF Relink and I've been playing the game since it was released. I don't want it to stop getting updates
Would really love expansions later down the line in the same way as how monster hunter did it with World. I love this game to death and would sink in hundreds more hours if they gave the content for it.
Just to clarify Brax, they have not fully stated that 1.3 is definitely the end of Relink. That is what they expected support to end. However with the potential encouragement for more from the game we could potentially expect additional content however they need to see the demand for it. It helps that Granblue is such a huge universe spamming 10 years that they have the characters and potential foes to supply it. It'll be upto the devs and potentially if they decide to make a poll on what we'd like as a player base we could see small scale updates in the future
It does help that they are showing this game the same love and respect that they have for their browser counterpart. You can definitely tell based purely on how well they have translated all the abilities from a turn pixel based grind fest to a absolutely graphically pleasing masterpiece. Their first time into this type of game is absolutely scary
@@pleasedontkillme1185 I doubt they will be added into the game as they're trying to add those that don't currently exist in the fighting game. Hence why we got Seofon and Tweyen as Eternals this time. Plus with it being a full on RPG with 8 skills and Skybound arts they need to pick those that would work perfectly
@@rinpendragon4077 I would rather they pick characters with unique play style (Nier being a puppet character is perfect for uniqueness here) also popularity will also play a part in choosing characters. I heard some say there had been datamines where Vira was part of it but who knows it could of been an old idea
i enjoy this game but the endgame is basically "do the same 1-3 quests until the end of time" id still recommend the game because the building aspects of gear are fun, i think damage builds are overhyped, the completion of quests dont change much at all when im in offline mode with my main being dps vs a well rounded tanky dps type since my supports wreck regardless, if i had any suggestions for someone playing its build for quality of life/what you enjoy, its easy to get sucked into the whole dps thing with youtube videos and like i said it doesnt even save much time if your supports are geared right, maybe saves like 60 seconds on a 10 min quest but you give up all the easy mode aspects cause you just keep getting one shot over and over
I’ve been on the copium that they’re going to go the monster hunter route. Some new quests here and there, just minor stuff. Then after like the 5-6 free title update they announce an expansion and have a more content packed title updates.
Remember this was their first full on game for Granblue (VS is a lot easier to make and was mostly handled by Arc Sys anyways) so Cygames might release a Relink 2 given that this game sold incredibly well (especially in foreign countries where GBF isnt even officially out) They more than likely tested the waters and were successful so even if it ends expect an announcement soon for a new game since the browser games they make are Money Printing machines (remember Uma Musume is also by them) Granblue is never shown in the gacha earning lists cause its a browser game but trust me they print money with it
GBF roadmap always vague they usually keep their important update on december livestream (that's where annual news for relink for 8 year straight) cant compare it to the fighting game, GBVS, since its a much clear microtrans (DLC character) or rerelease it multiple time (base game, legendary, rising)
As a PS5 user, I got this for 80$ (plus DLC costs) a copy for me (ps5) a copy for my cousin (ps4) with access to my account capability for me to coop with my cousin 595+ hours of gameplay. So worth and I wish they'd keep updating but i'll wait for a sequel.
To me, it seems that they'll be releasing tons more of updates and content, they just said they're not going to do more showcases BUT that may change as they are interested in reporting the numbers and statistics when the game has more content. see 17:28 of "Granblue Showcase: Relink Part 3"
It would be cool if they took the Destiny 2 route and restructured the game into a Game-as-a-Service model in the future. They would need to make the change alongside a MAJOR expansion for that to be appealing to the current player base, but I can't quite see how they can continue to monetize a game of this magnitude with a major dependence on new sales. A yearly DLC would also be cool, but I think this game has more potential than that.
Not every game needs to be forever. It was worth it's value, it's done, and we'll get another game in a few years. They already did it with VS and then Vs Rising, and Shadowverse and now Shadowverse Evolve, and Shadowverse Worlds Beyond. I would love for them to make another game and start retelling some of the stories from browser, I want big cinematic fights like Faa and ProtoBaha for Tiamat, Shiva, Avatar, Atum, Primarch etc. Or, gives us a entirely new perspective, be it the Enforcers with Monika and Lecia as the main characters or my pipe dream, a game based solely on the Society arc. I'd also accept a Mysteria Academy game. Hell give us a new genre in Platinum Sky while they're at it (racing).
I don't mind it ending with the 1.3 patch. I don't need or even want a new Live Service game to have to worry about. I will of course be very happy if they continue to add new quests into the game over time, but I don't want time-limited events or anything like that. It's nice being able to drop the game and not feel like I'm missing out on events and things. Anything that does get added I can just hop into at a later time and still experience.
I could see expansion drops as the way to go. Maybe something around the $20-50 price range for a completely new batch of characters, quests, weapons, and possibly a new storyline in Zegagrande. I think the expansions could sell very well if they stuck at least one big fan favorite character in each. If they do decide to stop developing, that doesn't really bother me- for a franchise as big as Granblue Fantasy, anything that isn't the gacha itself is basically just advertising. I went in with full expectations of such. Unless they decide to start developing through Relink only and bringing over all the main and side stories from the gacha, Relink will only ever be a side project.
Didn't someone in the update stream mention that they might keep on adding new stuff if people beg enough for it? Unless it was mistranslated, of course.
i think it make sense, the game module similar to MHWorld tho. It not like gacha that we got update every single month or two. Even mhw got icebourne update after long time. Or maybe just make the game cheaper so more player will play it because TONS of people want to play but cant afford the game. Palworld really2 good example, affordable so tons people buy it.
GBF Relink is basically Monster Hunter in terms of gameplay design and content, as it's not a live service, one year to 2 at most enough of content, then it'll be done, it's how it is.
ppl are insulting "whales" when it comes to gatcha games or games in general with microtrtansactions but if not whales spending their money games would die WAAAAAAY quicker because making games is just a business same as making bread everyone want to earn money for work they put into the product. So people complaining "game is trash cuz it has microtransactions" please leaarn more about how business work
The game will probably slow down a lot after v1.3 and lose a lot of player and just like the mobile/browser gacha game will havea lot of seasonal players(because of free rolls) everytime theres a new update. Cygames can probably release new areas with new story quest and raid quest along with a new characters, mats, sigils, weapons to grind for as a DLC for like 20~30$ or something and im sure people will be willing to buy those. Hopefully we still get some free content along the way and i also hope that dedicated fans of relink will keep the game somehow alive
It sounds like a game like this is above all a loss-leader (if not actual 'loss', then opportunity cost) to grow interest in the gacha game in the West. There's little reason for a game like this to appeal to developers when gacha are so much more profitable.
This. Remember how the previous two attempts to make spinoffs of gacha games turned out, Azur Lane Crosswave and Seven Knights: Time Wanderer, alongside how Puzzle & Dragons Gold just looked awful. I doubt we'll see any other gacha dev interested in making a paid spinoff of a gacha game anytime soon after Relink (or ever), as there isn't the financial sense from both developers & players and most players don't want offline versions of gacha games. In fact, had Relink been a publisher-owned IP where the publisher owns the IP and not the devs, the publisher would've most likely chosen to cancel it altogether and the plot of Relink would've been relegated to the original mobile game instead. I think gacha devs are more likely to make paid original IPs than spinoffs of gacha games.
Sounds like he says he's just done continuing to focus on the Zegragande Skydom. He said "I don't have anything else for now". This could have been all they planned for the game originally, but after seeing the success of it, I'm sure they'll continue moving forward. Even if it's through a new Title, but we could get something like MH:W's Icebourne which extends to a different territory all together.
He quite literally says that Zegagrande will continue to be part of Granblue and that he wants to continue to expand the stories of the people of Zegagrande... how does that sound like "He's done continuing to focus on the Zegagrande Skydom"?
@@eliasacevedo5711 "After working on the Zegagrande Skydom for so many years I feel we've reached a point of completion after todays announcements". "Of course the story of Granblue isn't over and I'm sure the people of Zegagrande Skydom will continue to be apart of it" If there's plans for future content, they will most likely expand further into the series, instead of staying in this one area. Always remember, the final goal of the crew IS the Island of the Astrals which Lilith was trying to open a gateway too - their goal is just to get there without destroying an entire Skydom to accomplish it.
@@kohmsl8310 bringing a whole other skydom into a spinoff game is no small deal like the existence of another outside of the main game is huge leaving a skydom isnt no small feat either Like on top of that it would mean leaving Id and the Eternals behind
My problem is Cygames are acting like they’re hurting for money. People have been waiting for this game for 7yrs. They have so many characters in the Granblue universe and so many bosses they could add to this game.
As someone who's playing the OG gacha gbf, there's still dozens of raids they can add to relink. Considering how Versus got handled, wouldn't be surprised if Relink:Rising gets announced in a year or two. If Relink Rising does happen I hope they can add Captain's job class system, allowing the captain to switch weapon types and drastically change playstyle. And of course, add more characters, like their Rage of Bahamut favorites like Albert, Grea or Vania.
adapting the basis of relink into a live service like an mmo would be a dream come true for me, i just hope if they do that the sub money is enough to keep the game up
This is how I think of this situation. They're trying to finish the BASE game of course. Then they'll add more such as DLC and so on. Though would be nice to not have only one boss per an update. I love this game! Great video.😁
While I hate to say it But what can make this game kept alive is a battle pass with skins in it and things that players want. I hate that I wrote it but this really it. A pass that is for 2 month each and big content update that yea will get them the money they want but they need to add good stuff in it to players buy it.
No, just go the MHW route, make a big DLC worth like 40 bucks while skins and emotes should be cash shop only. We don't need more fomo BP bullcrap games, Relink is amazing because it resembles the MH formula. The game doesn't need to go on for more than 2 years.
Tbh, I'm not really mad with how they put an option to just simply buy the new characters introduced as well has having the option to grind them out anyway. It's good for people who wants those characters right away (like me. Love Tweyen) and it helps fund them I guess? They can just add massive DLCs for a price and integrate new characters like how they did with the new ones (sell or grind). Modular approach looks like it would actually work as how this game is so good.
The only reason I bought this game was because it wasn't f2p or riddled with micro transactions or gacha elements, which would ruin this game, im just so used to buying a game, playing it for a month or so and then moving on, this idea of live service and putting 1,000 hours into one game just doesnt appeal to me, this game already has twice as much content than most AAA games, I've already put over 160 hours into the game when i normally I put about 80 hours into most AAA titles, plus cygames isn't capcom, you can't expect them to continually support a game that isn't financially worth it to them, monster hunter world support ended years ago yet a lot of ppl still play, this whole trend of ppl stopping to play a game they enjoy just because support ends is just odd to me, these ppl act like the servers shut down and they can't play the game anymore, especially when most AAA games have no post launch support besides a few updates, the gaming community has a poor history of being grateful, especially when most AAA games you might get 60 hours at most, I dont think ppl realize how unique monster hunter and games like it are, its an extremely rare phenomenon in the AAA gaming market, and you can't expect every AAA coop game to do these kinds of things, it's just not realistic, I would much rather end it now then have the game ruined by gacha or MTs, for me with relink the journey to level 100 was a lot more enjoyable than the endgame at level 100, so for me starting a new save and doing it all over again sounds much better than continuing to play the game with everything already done and begging cygames for more content, or better yet play other games too, there are just way too many good games out there, I've discovered so many older games I never played, for example I'm just now playing games like the trails series, fallout 4, SAO last recollection, Ys IX, monster hunter rise/sunbreak, rise of the ronin, torchlight 2, diablo 3 eternal collection, warhammer 40k inquisitor martyr, nightmare reaper, borderlands 3, wonderlands and many others
I'm surprised that for how long this was in development, there won't be *much* more new content But, I'm happy going back to the days of games being complete on launch with some bonus content and just moving on
Aye brax they did hint at the fact if the game got more exposure in the rest of the world and that there is demand for more that they will add additional content, I can even see them add a dlc for more story ( since they kinda...f*cked the story up in relink ) or add new characters from the original granblue game or new quests ( the possibilities are endless ) so AYE hear me out TO ALL GRANBLUE CONTENT CREATORS, start pumping out 15 videos per day till everyone is basically forced to at least watch 1 of them 🫡 and boom thats the exposure they needed 🙏🏽 stay with me now.
It's just too vague. They never said that they're 100% done with Relink. They may consider more updates in the future, and if there's enough demand, answer what players want (characters or other things). I think they're just done with monthly updates. We'll see how they respond in the future. They said that it MAY be possible that a Showcase Part 4 could be a thing as well. If they end up announcing it after 1.3, then yeah, there will be definitely more stuff coming.
My hope for this game is that based on the popularity, they adopt a Monster Hunter path. It's not a live service, but for each main game, they release 5 or so content patches, then a paid expansion, and then 5/6 post expansion patches, plus shop cosmetics. If they decide to stop supporting it based on it not being financially viable, I get it. But I think if they announced a DLC for it, they could generate a lot of interest, and people would absolutely pay for stuff like cosmetics down the line. I think the core game is really solid, and they have plenty of content to draw from the mobile game. But again, if it's not financially viable, then it is what it is.
Thing is, they don't even have to make it Live Service. If need be they can just provide paid DLC or hell make a paid Expansion DLC in the same vein as how Monster Hunter did it. And that would still fulfill their promise of not making the game a Live Service. There's no need for the addition of microtransactions and the like. Just take time to build up longstanding content in expansion packs that they can release as paid DLC and you're crystal. Cause I know damn well folks would pay to see more characters added to the game and you don't need to do character pulls to do that.
I think it just comes down to a difference in the vision the devs have vs the expectations of the playerbase. I've been a Granblue browser game player for a long time now, and the general tone with Relink wasn't as something you continue to play in perpetuity alongside the browser game. It was just a console RPG, closer to something like God Eater, Scarlet Nexus, Tales of series or a Persona game, than to Monster Hunter. You have a story heavy RPG, you play through it, and move on. The multiplayer postgame was just an added feature, not the main focal point. The use of the term "end of service" here stood out to me, because by all accounts, as far as the devs are concerned, there is no "service." The game is there. If you've bought it, no server will ever go down and take the game with it, it's done and yours to play forever. As players, we may want them to continue adding more and more, but I think the devs' vision was to deliver one complete package and that's it. I will reassure on one front though, there will add at least several more updates. In past Granblue streams, they have talked about wanting to add more and more of the browser game's characters into this, and since then, only Sandalphon has appeared. So expect a few more updates, at least. It's not over yet, but rather than hoping it continues in perpetuity, it'd be better to hope for a sequel or a new game by Cygames. They want to have a bigger presence in the console game market, and have talked about Relink as being their entry to it.
idk they keep updating the fighting game that game cant be more profitable than this one just by the niche neture of fgs so i dont think this game is going to die any time soon
they have such a huge character roster, just start releasing them in patches with an extra quest or two i'd be fine with that, i love this game so much
all you've mentioned are on point brax. i wanna see this game last longer if not atleast 5 years. it's just heartbreaking to feel it's potentially getting to end sooner.
i would like them to just go the monhun route, keep releasing small updates that don't require too much work over a few patches then drop an expansion pack for a lot more content. i for one would def buy an expansion pack and ofc they can keep releasing small cosmetic or material packs along the way, it's no problem to me as long as they aren't something that only exist to make the game worse as other games sometimes end up doing. i don't need this game to be some endless experience though, i got my moneys worth out of this game for sure already. if we ever get time limited events or anything like for holidays i'd prefer they stay as cosmetic rewards from them like special emotes, or stickers, or even color/outfits. also they could sell skins for money i wouldn't mind having to buy those, prefer games having you earn them through challenges but wouldn't be bothered if they sold good looking skins for characters.
To be honest, I'm glad its not an always online service or one of those games that requires a *mandatory* internet connection to function. I'm also happy its not a publisher owned IP, where the devs' budget and time would have to be under the gun of the publisher who owns said IP (Square Enix, Capcom, Bandai Namco, etc). Other publishers would've just cancelled the game outright. I think eventually they will add Id (or maybe Rolan) to the original mobile game to connect the mobile game to Relink.
Yeah up until 1.3 is all they had planned for cause they wanted to see how the community responded to to game. Idk why somr people be aaying that their are done with the game when nothing was confirmed
I agree with the idea of creating expansions dlc, just like Monster Hunters did. Also, DLCs characters are great options, since they don't feel forced to get/buy on a coop game, and they have a lot of great characters from the gacha game and Versus that they can add and players will be definitely drawn to most of them.
Monster Hunter World has managed to top Capcom’s charts despite having no gacha system and only a handful of aesthetic micro-transaction options. I would love to see this game take a page out of that book and see success and more updates without bowing to the absurdity of live service and gacha styles.
Thanks for the reminder, immediately went and bought a copy as I had completely forgotten to pre-order ReLink. It's scratching that 5 year old FF14 itch, and comes with no monthly subscription to access any content; which, is perfect! Hope that maybe the team can successfully pitch yearly expansions, as its a pretty serious contender in the ARPG-genre that can be played offline. For now, we've just gotta pray for mercy from the Investors to give it another chance as a Pandemic-Title.
There are some ideas i would recommend. 1. Get the Church of Avia characters playable, since we already got Id. 2. Make Lilith an actual boss, i was disappointed that we had a scripted fight where we didnt see what she would really do. the small interaction in the fight was so cool. 3. Make all the cool and unique boss a higher difficulty with the same power requirment, i love fighting Maglielle but i beat her in a minute even on Proud. 4. Maybe add some more costumes, i notice that the fighting game got new costumes (Zeta) and the fanbase made so many juicy memes of her new look. 5. Add another difficulty level for the campaign. I tried ultimate at end game and it still ends shortly. 6. More flashback bosses (?) Lucilus was so god damn good. A brand new and unique boss battle alone re-added life to the game after people 100% grind on it before the DLC update. The game clearly has alot of lore if you played previous titles, so its not like they are out of source material.
I don't think its OVER over. This is just all the extra post release stuff they have for now. But this game clearly did well so I would not be surprised if we get a paid story expansion or something. Least that is what I think. And if not it is still a very fun game.
7:05 I don't think skins, cosmetics or even a few item bundles would give the surge of people and money that Relink needs to be sustainable for years like a live service game, since from what I've seen, people play Relink for the fights and the characters, so unless they continuously add monsters to fight, even new characters wouldn't be enough to keep many people playing. I do want more skins though, some alternate costumes for all characters, not just recolors, even bikinis, casual outfits etc. but of course, new monsters to fight so players would have something gameplay wise to use those skins and outfits on.
I completely agree with this. Waited for relink for so long and I absolutely love it with 200+ hours logged in so far I would hate to see it just end. I happily tossed them the money for seofon and tweyen when they launched. I was also considering just buying the color pack to support the game. I really hope they choose to emulate monster hunter and release a big paid expansion I would happily pay for more content for this game
Gacha + Mobile game is always more popular. Relink is not that game, this one is what i wish ! The game is really Amazing game i hope we can build Good Community on it!
They should make some type of events and give a relief from the same stage non stop farming and give us a sense of accomplishment from the non stop farm.
I would they would at least test the waters with microtransactions via skins when the next update comes out. Drop Sandalpon along with 1 new skin for each character that was in the base game. Then hopefully they'll see that players really do enjoy this game and are willing to pay extra bits on money to keep playing. I just hope they keep this game going for the rest of the year kuz this is a really good and enjoyable game
I understand you Brax. But this game is great (despite the build options)... We all had 100s of hours and I personally will play it sometimes even without updates. And the biggest thing: Each gacha demands a huge amount of time to be played EACH DAY. It became like work rather than playing. And there are so many gachas out there... there is a limit on how much time you have to spare for stuff like that each day. I play Genshin (if you can call it playing that is... no combat), Star Rail and Nikke. 3 games I have to play each day...After work. Even if there was another game that looked cool... I just cant.
I really wish they made like a 30 € DLC with a 1-2 new characters and maybe a few bosses and such. Would buy it in a heartbeat but even if Relink truly ends I just hope they will go for another Granblue pay to play experience again because the browser games are not attractive to me enough but this was a really fun experience and I'd love to play and support them on a new title
don't think there needs to be an aggressive gacha system, but I'd be happy if they added random skin packs in the game, where you could get rolls by completing missions to build your character and also by spending real money. I think this would be the way to keep the game alive, healthier, less predatory, and it would give people something that was the main criticism besides the basic story: the censorship they did on Granblue Fantasy characters, which already had their models and were changed.
It would be so amazing if they did a big expansion for Relink like MHW Iceborn or MHR Sunbreak. I’d even take a GBF Versus Rising style rerelease. They have such a good core gameplay loop
I think they should have made seasons pass and all that and more personal skins for each character, I mean cosmetics for allá and I think we would be more than happy to spend our money in this game cos like you said I incredible, it would be really sad that they leave this game to die just like that
Man i really do hope they continue updating this game. Im a newborn fan of Granblue and i even got this game fkr my birthday!! I did not know anything about this framchise but because i saw how the game worked and how cool it looked, i wanted it and got it and im in love with this game. Its so fun and addicting and i just want them tk make some more content if they can. Ive never been this like, obsessed with a game before and ive played alot of games lol. I really do hole Granblue Fantasy Relink gets more updates in the future. (AND PLEASE ADD SKINS.....and more characters lol)
Even the anime felt too Short the anime literally covers like if you play the browser game the anime covers the entire beginning of the game like it plays out exactly storyline wise as the beginning of the game like the first two chapters or something they have so much story they could continue the anime and for this game it's the same they have so many characters and so much story this game could be long like instead of giving us the mobile games this is the game that we could have gotten and they could just sell us DLC packs every new chapter could be DLC. They could sell it for 30 $40 because it would be pretty much the next chapter in the story plus the characters that get released along with that chapter. They would make money that way and people keep playing if they know the content is coming but if I think that they're going to scrap this game I might stop playing because I'm like what am I grinding for. I can currently be all the bosses in the game so me continuously trying to perfect my billed as me trying to prepare for the next boss but if nothing is coming what's the point I'll just go play something else. Because if I'm able to complete the hardest content in the game I feel like I beat the game
Honestly same. I would gladly pay for skins and more characters. I have purchased Seofon and Tweyen on the steam store to show them we care, don't let Relink die Cygames!
I just did some fantasy math: If for this update they were to release 5 skins, at $12 USD A skin and 80k of the player base bought all five skins They would make about $4,800,000 ….
I think it's not fair to compare it to a gacha game. When they made the game without gacha, they surely knew it would not make as much as the gacha game. But as long as it is profitable in a significant way, it's worth it to keep it alive. It does make the company more stable by having more income streams. This is also something to consider.
An icebourne style dlc would be perfect for this game we the players get more content the devs get more money. Only thing is it’s hard work compared to the gacha system genshin has
Stellaris. Launch Date: may 9, 2016. Last DLC: The Machine Age, may 7 , 2024. That's 8 years later. Stellaris has a lot of DLC, this is a characteristic from Paradox, and I'm pretty sure Cygames would make tons of money with DLCs for Relink. Truth is, Relink is fantastic and there is no other game like it. If they want, they can create content for it for years. I'm pretty sure the players will gladly pay for more content. Stellaris proves this. They just can't let this game die. Not without playable Maggie and Gallanza at least.
Paid DLC is the preferred method of continuation for me. It allows them to monetize it, and I still get more content. This is not a new trend. Expansions to existing games have existed for a long time.
Its a buy to play experience. We bought it and played it. While I would love to have more content, it makes sense that the game is pretty much done content wise. Its possible we'll get a huge paid expansion but it would be way down the line as part of a re-release similar to iceborne
My largest cope is hoping they make a expansion/game based on the 000 side story from the gacha game (technically thats what Lucilius fight is supposed to be represent but I want the whole package maaan)
They probably don't want to go down the live service route, so they are stopping while ahead. Even though the game has more than enough source material, which is honestly smart on them. Remember that Monster hunter didn't become as big as it did by going live service (even though they tried, it wasn't good enough to come to the west). They made each game a timeless experience and tbh that's what cygames is good at.
ceo of granblue fantasy relink pls dm me uwu xddd
A lot of « Japanese Nuance » in his words are kind of mistranslated, which give the impression of « final » in the meanings but aren’t quite what he really meant.
If they stop development at 1.3 I'd still be satisfied. It's a complete game.
@@Koyodidi So it doesnt mean they would stop?
Honestly after Relink is over I'm looking at SAO Fractured Day Dream
That game looks similar enough to scratch the itch
with a bit more value attached to their class system
@@sirrealgaming6913 SAO nah its always trash.
yeah, i had to realize that this isnt a live service, so I got my money's worth once I paid for the game. Them adding these characters and still updating is just them being nice and considerate. I do want it to live on and have more content (even through dlcs) but if it does die in a month or two, I played 400 hrs worth so I cant complain.
Honestly, I'd still be happy if they released a paid DLC for Relink
probably be the best decision to go for.
then after that, work on a Relink 2. Keep their "side" projects alive
yea... like a swimsuit skin paid DLC that's no where to be found.
True, I have waited for a long time for this game but still was worried if it would turn out to be good.
there's not gonna be any paid expansions for relink.
they have Abandoned it.
I feel like they should start considering a paid DLC for this game tbh.
Absolutely, Iceborne style. I would buy new content for it no questions.
We're probably not gonna see anything for a while if they do plan on doing more.
as a browser gbf player since day 1 the fact that relink is actually came out and had many people who didn't know granblue ip existing become fans already makes me happy and i think the devs who working on the game also feel the same
and i will still support granblue franchise even if they stopped updating relink
Angrya Mainyu, no thankyou…
I would love to fight a harder Versa. Also they can just make tower of babel structure that you fight each boss till you get to the last stage like in og game.
@@serenity3157 my dream right here, a harder versa. The fight itself is fun, many raid mechanics and the music is sick. They could do many stuff with what they already have.
Increase player levels is needed for harder fights my opinion
The team and the GBF community are far too passionate to let the game truly "die."
Your voice also has a striking resemblance to this one other gacha content creator I follow, probably just a coincidence.
Go outside
@@Tychonious leave the internet, don't comment again, kiss your self.
*Noo!! Cygames moving on to another game? I don't want that!! I want Cygames to keep updating Relink! for 10 years at least!*

Thank you, Fukuhara; I wont let your game go to waste.

i love this game so much, i really truly do hope we get more
there's so much from the og granblue game that they could adapt into a real time 3D action RPG...the characters...the IMPOSSIBLE-difficulty raid bosses...ahhhhh
Oh Reitsuna hi!
I mean the game took almost 8 years to come out. Honestly I get it
It took that long because it got abandoned by the original team before Cygames in house team continued on it. If it didn’t get into that development hell, it would come out way earlier unless the devs at Cygames were incompetent.
@@MaidenlessScrub Yeah, i still remember there was so much drama back then and ppl seem not to happy when Cygames took over but turns out they made the game really good .
MAKE. SKINS...bro legit i know my friends and I would drop bands for different skins. Not color swaps, actual skins.
I thought the same thing, make our characters more customizable
Nexusmods
Yeah, they've already implied costumes as the captain has one and siegfried kind of has one as well
Man its sad that its games with passion and love like these that gets undermonetised, while shitty cash grabs still making lots of money
(I'm sure everyone remembers the theme song)
Want some tactical RPG game?
How would keep supporting the game make it a Live service?
The thing is live service doesn't HAVE to have those things. Many people are used to daily quests, weekly events etc from gacha games. When I think live service I think like MMOs, a patch every 2-10 months that adds a couple of new things to do, and an optional cosmetic cash shop. No FOMO stuff, all the content stays in the game afterwards.
I hate the "bad" live service games, but GBFR has the chance to be one of the good ones, as long as they can fund it and there's enough interest. But as you said they already made it clear its NOT a live service, so it is what it is
Yeah let me read all that
@@BraxAlter Helldivers 2 is also a good example of how to do live service game. The grind isn't really daily and you just come back to unlock new weapons every once in a while and you are all caught up. For the people show stick around, they get the "live service" feel through the Galactic Map conquest
7 years Ive waited... im sorry I love this game but I need more damn DLCs
I'm cautiously optimistic
It does help that they are showing this game the same love and respect that they have for their browser counterpart. You can definitely tell based purely on how well they have translated all the abilities from a turn pixel based grind fest to a absolutely graphically pleasing masterpiece. Their first time into this type of game is absolutely scary
I honestly just want to see Vira, Yuel and Nier as characters in Relink and I would be completely set.
Remember this was their first full on game for Granblue (VS is a lot easier to make and was mostly handled by Arc Sys anyways) so Cygames might release a Relink 2 given that this game sold incredibly well (especially in foreign countries where GBF isnt even officially out)
They more than likely tested the waters and were successful so even if it ends expect an announcement soon for a new game since the browser games they make are Money Printing machines (remember Uma Musume is also by them) Granblue is never shown in the gacha earning lists cause its a browser game but trust me they print money with it
Why would they make a new game, when they can just release big expansions for this game?
@@eliasacevedo5711 cause they said its not live service so I do not expect any expansion for it
Please, i just want skins that change the models, I'll even pay absurd overwatch skin prices for them x.x
GBF roadmap always vague
they usually keep their important update on december livestream
(that's where annual news for relink for 8 year straight)
cant compare it to the fighting game, GBVS, since its a much clear microtrans (DLC character) or rerelease it multiple time (base game, legendary, rising)
nooo not relink i love this game 😭
As a PS5 user, I got this for 80$ (plus DLC costs)
a copy for me (ps5)
a copy for my cousin (ps4) with access to my account
capability for me to coop with my cousin
595+ hours of gameplay.
It would be nice if they released a big expansion like Monster Hunter Iceborn or MH Sunbreak. I would by that ez.
Unless they decide to start developing through Relink only and bringing over all the main and side stories from the gacha, Relink will only ever be a side project.
what makes the sky blue dlc, imagine the whole story being ingame with all the fights, it'll sell like pancakes in no time
are you planning on a seofon build soon? every other relink youtuber seems to be doing a tweyen build already.

I 100% buy those "skins" for my favorite characters so that I can support the game.
GBF Relink is basically Monster Hunter in terms of gameplay design and content, as it's not a live service, one year to 2 at most enough of content, then it'll be done, it's how it is.
There are few employees and the work cannot be divided in time
ppl are insulting "whales" when it comes to gatcha games or games in general with microtrtansactions but if not whales spending their money games would die WAAAAAAY quicker because making games is just a business same as making bread everyone want to earn money for work they put into the product.
They should go the route of Mosnter hunter and just use something like ice borne where it’s a big ass expansions
Would be weird if they introduced another skydom with how the world is
He quite literally says that Zegagrande will continue to be part of Granblue and that he wants to continue to expand the stories of the people of Zegagrande... how does that sound like "He's done continuing to focus on the Zegagrande Skydom"?
@@XzeonOfficial I don't see how it would be weird considering they traveled to the Skydom from another Skydom in the first place.
@@eliasacevedo5711 "After working on the Zegagrande Skydom for so many years I feel we've reached a point of completion after todays announcements". "Of course the story of Granblue isn't over and I'm sure the people of Zegagrande Skydom will continue to be apart of it"
If there's plans for future content, they will most likely expand further into the series, instead of staying in this one area. Always remember, the final goal of the crew IS the Island of the Astrals which Lilith was trying to open a gateway too - their goal is just to get there without destroying an entire Skydom to accomplish it.
@@kohmsl8310 bringing a whole other skydom into a spinoff game is no small deal like the existence of another outside of the main game is huge leaving a skydom isnt no small feat either
Like on top of that it would mean leaving Id and the Eternals behind
While I hate to say it
But what can make this game kept alive is a battle pass with skins in it and things that players want.
I hate that I wrote it but this really it.
A pass that is for 2 month each and big content update that yea will get them the money they want but they need to add good stuff in it to players buy it.
this, hell make the pass have outfits like how rising does and people will play or spend to get it faster
No, just go the MHW route, make a big DLC worth like 40 bucks while skins and emotes should be cash shop only.
We don't need more fomo BP bullcrap games, Relink is amazing because it resembles the MH formula.
The game doesn't need to go on for more than 2 years.
Relink needs more characters, quests, and for the love of god outfits
I'm surprised that for how long this was in development, there won't be *much* more new content
But, I'm happy going back to the days of games being complete on launch with some bonus content and just moving on
Aye brax they did hint at the fact if the game got more exposure in the rest of the world and that there is demand for more that they will add additional content, I can even see them add a dlc for more story ( since they kinda...f*cked the story up in relink ) or add new characters from the original granblue game or new quests ( the possibilities are endless ) so AYE hear me out TO ALL GRANBLUE CONTENT CREATORS, start pumping out 15 videos per day till everyone is basically forced to at least watch 1 of them 🫡 and boom thats the exposure they needed 🙏🏽 stay with me now.
Schrödinger announcement: We’re done with the game… or are we?
Hope they add a great set of Islands to explore, they just can't let go the potential of Relink like that.
Is there something in your room producing some kind of loud intermittent clicking noise throughout the video? Drove me crazy.
I would instantly buy any dlc they release for this game. Recycle some zone assets, recycle some enemy assets and give us another mini adventure!
imagine what makes the sky blue as dlc if they did it cause why not
They could even add paid DLC for many other characters like a big pack of them. I would not mind that e.g making Wilnas, Lich etc playable.
I just did some fantasy math:
If for this update they were to release 5 skins, at $12 USD
A skin and 80k of the player base bought all five skins
They would make about $4,800,000
….
It certainly feels like sandy be our last update. Showcase gave us buncha hints. Hope im just reading between the lines tho
It took them 8 years to make Granblue Relink, I really hope they have learned enough to make their future project development process smoother.
Man if we can get Belial in this game I will happily spend money for him
