hey bio I just legit woke everyone up in my discord server to promote you- you are just a wonderful artist and I think the 40+ people in there should know who you are 💖
I love the differences in anatomy for the different dragon tribes! Like RainWings have their back more adapted to be easier to climb and it’s much different from the back legs of a SkyWing
After watching a few tutorials, I got the hang of full bodies pretty quickly. But I could never master the legs. They just seemed so challenging. Then, I came across Bio’s tutorial and it flipped my world upside down.
You definitely deserve my sub this was so helpful and descriptive! You explained everything perfectly the serpent thing at the beginning in itself really helped too! ♥️
It's been 3 years... and no video about that xD but maybe you can look at bird pictures with their wings in different poses and just change the feathers to webbing:)
I love how when you do This tutorial, you don’t talk about how to do the drawing YOUR drawing, but instead you focus on how to draw the dragon in pretty much any pose and the steps and tips on dragon anatomy and stuff lol
Ty!!! This really helped me realize which part are based off what animals! 🫶💕 What I learned (skeleton-wise) 1. HEAD - Tiger 2. NECK - Bird 3. THORACIC (ribs) - Bird 4. ABdominal - Tiger 5. LEGS - Tiger 6. WINGS - Bat 7. TAIL - Snakes (mostly)
Omg finally a video that doesn’t end up being some overly detailed mess that I don’t understand- I used to be really good at drawing dragons like years ago and I stopped drawing for years and now I’m back here with motivation for once- fun.
Great stream like always bio!!! Loved the explanation on how you draw dragon bases! I never thought you use tigers as reference, very interesting fact! It was great for my first stream and waited patiently for it and was so exited I was able to be apart of it! Have and good day or night (depending) everyone, byyyyye!
Very interesting that you used a tiger as a reference, I use cats because their spine and tail are similar looking. I use bat wing anatomy for the wings and for the legs I use a canine’s or lizard’s. The head would be shaped like a horse so horse heads shapes for reference. For the mouth I just see snakes and crocodiles or dogs and lions. The body is just like a cheetah’s, long with huge chests and flexible spines.
As a Wings of Fire fan wanting to learn how to draw as this being the first video i ever watched about how to draw a dragon i loved it SOOOOOO MUCH this was helpful in every way
Alright! I will say that this has got to be one of the best tutorials for dragons I've seen (as I agree with pretty much all the methods and ways you drew it). I myself couldn't measure up to your experience (I'm definitely not as good at you) and I did take some tips of of this (using a stabilizer, calves on the back legs, that kind of thing). So here's what I've got to say: - I 100% agree with the whole no-elbow-finger thing! I never draw any of my dragons with them, and it looks quite odd to me when I see them considered a normal part of the wing (I get that it's just a style choice though). - You drew the neck attacking to the back of the skull. This is also a style choice, and it's not wrong, but I usually prefer to have it attach the same way but with a throat flap of sorts attaching underneath as well. Makes it look more stable and functional (in my opinion). - I would've probably fused the shoulder of the arm and the wing, so they sort of stem from one shoulder? Hard to explain through writing. Again, style choice. This one's not really related to dragons, but read it if you're really bored or something: - When you showed the chart with all the wings (bird, bat, and pterosaur) the pterosaur wing had lots of inaccuracies and it bothered me lol. I know it doesn't matter at all, and it's really not a big deal, but my dinosaur (shush I know pterosaurs aren't dinosaurs, but they're commonly grouped together with them so adkfvkbenkbksfjge) loving self still managed to find them in the short time the chart was up (it was missing a pteroid bone, the wings end in a point, missing the propatagium, really, really weird skull, the fingers on the wings are oriented towards the front instead of the sides, and a bunch of other stuff along those lines). If you managed to read through all that, I'm impressed. That was a lot of rambling!
Ah thank you so much for making this tutorial, I'm not very comfortable making dragon anatomy and struggle a lot with the legs and overall body structure but this video gave me the courage to practice them, thank you again Bio
honestly these bases were life savers, i've been trying to make good bases myself for all my wof oc's and these were great cause i could layout all of my oc's designs and colors until i finish my bases
The need for the finger at the elbow is practically there to help the dragon steer their wings while flying, although this is just my opinion. U can draw how every you want to draw and nobody, not even your closest friends are allowed to tell you that you are bad at it! Because no matter what, everybody has their own style in drawing.
