- Howard and Casey demonstrate a few different ways to remove runs from clearcoat. There are many ways to do this job, these are a few that we use. Paint runs, sags, surfs up.

HA - you have eased my anxiety - when even a TOP EXPERT gets a few runs - then it makes it easy for me to accept my ' few failures' - HA. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.
All part of the job
More great content Howard. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. That blue is so nice on that car.
Thanks for watching!
One other little tip I like to use after 800, is powder guide coat, you can see where all the 800 sanding scratches are. 😎 I actually use the powder all the way up to 3000, Great video Howard 😊👍
Thanks for the info! Good tip
Have to say, its great that you actually reply to your comments, even if its a thanks. Thats not something you see. Have you thought of doing like a live stream where you can answer questions or even a tutorial style vid?
Thanks Paul. Struggling to keep up the work load without bringing on new things at the moment
Great detail - cheers Howard.
Thanks for following
Ive got a few runs I need to take care of! Great, relevant content Howard! Cheers!
Cheers mate
Beautiful thanks for the tips
You are so welcome!
Appreciated, great video. Thank you!
Thanks for the feed back
com todo esse equipamento, pistola da melhor marca do mundo e a pintura ficou grossa, casca de laranja muito grossa.....
yes, I think it was more to do with the wet on wet primer
Great content as usual mate 👍
What brand of razor blades do you use ?
Hey mate, depends whats on ebay, Sterling Trade go alright
Morning Howard, great vid, i'll be honest, on that model, im on the fence about the colour. Nice colour though. You have painted a mustang engine bay, and i am abouts to lay the epoxy on it but wanted to know a good gun setting should it be a narrower fan pattern? i want to avoid runs if i couldand also dont want dry spray. Thanks in advance.
I would pull it back in a little but not to much, if you have it use slow thinner and a 1.4 tip for DP616 epoxy
I do it by putting a thin coat of filler over the run similar to the primer method i was shown this years ago
Yes fine filler, bonus is you don't have to wait as long
so in thee door jam you used the primer to bring the clear coat run down evenly without touching the good part and then remove the thin coat of primer ? i had never thought of that 😊
That is correct
What do you do if you’ve chopped through the clear to the base coat? I’m sure many DIYers will have to address that problem!
That’s something we can address in a future video
Also keen to see that too, when I had to deal with that it was a disaster. cut through on yellow , thought reclear and cut again would work, ended up with dark edge mapping on the cut through. in the end flattened the panel, re colourded and clear the whole panel and started again
is it possible to use the trace powders that are used at the blocking stage the same way u have used the paint here ?
It needs to be a primer or filler that allows you to sand without cutting through next to the run.
@@AstillDesign thanks Howard 👍👍👍👍
I know a bloke that uses soap with wet and dry to stop paper clogging up with clear coat
For sure, Terry mentioned that in the Colour sanding episode
More runs than Don Bradmans highest test score
😂😂😂
i'd have somehow rubbed it through to the undercoat. Every time!
I know, right!!
Komm mal nach Deutschland, dann könnt ihr lernen wie man ohne Läufer lackiert
Everyone get a run at some point.
