This car has been all but finished - unfortunately life got in the way of filming this as a series. Jono has done a few events in this but a long way from dialed to its potential.

Is there a reason why you put the engine vertical and the gearbox on a angle? Hopefully oil isn't an issue

@@jonojonojono All my NZDM and JDM engines are slanted I even imported a AUDM 4X4 Hilux engine to swap into a 87 Surf and that was slanted. We have heaps of 2wd and Surf engines in NZ but not many 4X4 Hilux engines as most were diesel.

Clearance. 3rzs are tall, even taller when on the factory 11 degree angle. Having used them in many conversions and knowing this and knowing we would be making a custom sump, I didn’t even bother trying to mount it on the factory angle. There is no oiling issue if standing up if replacing the sump and pickup. As for the gearbox, being a manual, the angle is no issue with no pumps or pans to worry about. Shame the bellhousing were only made to suit the slanted motor mount. The powerglide conversion bellhousings are available to suit both upright and the slant.

@@TunaRacing The angle threw me off, I made my engine mounts then went to put the shifter in and it was a no go 😂 so out with the grinder it was. Could you cut the bell housing and rotate the gearbox?
The 3SGTE is the same with the sump and oil pickup if done heaps of rwd conversion with those using 3Y bell housings.
