Oh Leos. He’s probably one of my favorite AC antagonists. Someone from the AC1 era who got to witness humanity have a shot at choosing their own destinies, without an AI looming over them, only to see us go back to our old destructive ways. Not only that, but mankind managed to bring their conflict not just to the Earth’s surface, but to Mars as well. It’s no wonder Leos likely thought Hustler One was right all along
Small correction- in the mission where the Frighteners waste your support AC, you do actually get paid, but you are paid in advance. The fundds are deposited before you sortie, meaning the repair/ammo cost is still technically deducted from your earnings. Welcome back to the nest, Ravens. We have a future again!
I'm pretty new to armoured core, only starting to get into it after AC6 announcement and only having played for answer and started 3 so far. I just want to say that your videos have been a joy so far, and I hope to see your channel grow. Thanks for the lore

great video! been watching you for a week now because im replaying every armored core game again starting in AC 1. to refresh my lore knowledge before AC 6 comes out. im now in AC 2 another age
Funny enough mine too. Only it was a little too hard for young me, so i had to put it down and come back some time later only to then fall in love with the series.
For those who want to know the allied pilot that dies in "Guard Secret Information", the pilot is named "Castor" the blue lightwieght AC in the arena. And in "Destroy Radar Base", a tank AC goes by the name of "Bulk". Edit: also there's one area that is mostly seen in the briefing called "Disorder Nest". I always wondered how come there is no missions regarding that place
Man, your vocals are a LOT better in your newer videos than they used to be. It honestly sounds like I'm listening to a debriefing directly from the games. Kudos, man
I wish we got more about the Ancient Martian Race, I feel like that they could have been flushed out more. Also Leos Klein, best Antag I have even seen in a video game.
Oh more lore yes please. And Klein is quite the character, you almost feel sorry for him but kinda admire him too i mean he took over a planet with a small force and crippled corps with the freighters. What a bad ass.
I've been so excited for this video. I would love more 2nd and 3rd gen related content :) thank you for the time you have invested to make us a nerds happy.
This is my favourite game in the series. I’m glad you did it justice and I’m happy how well presented you made the video. From the organisations to the political intrigue to the coup de’ta and eventual defeat of the undefeated Nine Breaker Raven, Leos Klein. It’s a shame not many people have played this game or most of the older entires in general as I believe them to be extremely well written, performance of the software pushing their respective consoles to the max in all aspects as well as giving the player the same level of challenge that would equal really hard games you get in today’s market, if not harder. It’s truly a masterwork of a franchise and one that has incredible replay-ability. With the announcement of AC6 more people are becoming aware of the series and I pray it will last for a very long time. Awesome video as always fam and have a great New Year 🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉
Thanks very much for all the kind praise and a happy new year to you too. AC2 certain is quite the game with its story and missions that makes you go how many foes are there?! But i admit playing it again made me think back to my teenage years were i was thinking this game is too hard and i will never play it again. Now here i am years later talking about it. Still as you say with ac6 coming i think we're heading for lot of good times with new and old ravens and lynxs.
@@armoredcorelore Oh you certainly did, I did however wonder what you opinion is on the raven Surviving. My personal headcanon is that he did indeed survive. Another far fetched theory is that he also is the villain/final boss in Armored core 2 another age.
Oh well in my personal opinion, i believed the raven did survive after all in AC2AA the first mission even comments about it should not be a problem for a raven of your talent. So what i see in AC2AA is an older raven from AC2 who is now having to go from being a hero to the everyday life of mercenary where there is no fan fair anymore its just do your job like every other raven.
@@armoredcorelore I see, I personally think it is another Raven since I have a theory that the AC series there is a tradition of having its previous protagonists be killed/defeated by the newer protagonists. Most famous example being Strayed taking down White glint.
I only ever played armored core 1 on ps1. Loved it, but never was able to get a ps2 or the other games. Thanks for the content!! I'll be ready for ac6 now!
Im listening to these while catching up of A and S rank arenas in AC6 so i can get caught up to speed on the story Ps. You sound like someone who would give a mission briefing in the games
Hell. Yes. I can't wait to watch this when I get home later; AC2 was my first experience with the series, and the one that I have the most experience with by far! I even had the figure of the AC on the box cover. Getting to the top of the arena rankings (at age 10, mind you) is still one of the hardest things I can remember doing in terms of gaming.
@@__Xeese No kidding! And this is before I knew about anything like optimal builds or strategies or anything like that. I just picked parts that I thought looked cool. An early iteration of "fashion souls", if you will. Speaking of, how psyched are we for AC6??
I actually like the look and texture of the two first games better than the rest, they startsd loosing something after that, they seemed better some how. Not esp. like ac 5 that had that cheap plastic gimmicky feel to the ACs. And atmo.
Part of it is the era. Mid 80s through about 2002 were peak aesthetic for Japanese scifi designs. The other part is that AC1-2:AA had one mech designer, and that man is Shoji Kawamori, who is a goddamned legend, having worked on Macross, Patlabor, Ghost in the Shell, Diaclone (and thus Robotech and Transformers), Escaflowne, Eureka 7, among others. He shifted to mechanical concept design in AC3, laying down guidelines for the now-multiple mech designers to adhere to. Phased out around Nexus, returned for For Answer as a guest to design White Glint, and then left again until AC6.
sine armored core got a bit of a reboot when 3 got released i can assume that 2 was the final game in that games timeline since if i remember right, another age takes place on earth so assuming that another age takes place either during 2 or after 2 then pretty much everyone on mars is probably living a happy life now. Meanwhile earth is still kind of having its own wars happening.
Your pretty much there, Another age take place five years after all AC2 so still in the same timeline and as for mars well its still having problems as is the earth as now the people who stayed underground are not happy. So rebellions are breaking out with groups like the indies taking the front lines, the corporations are not happy the government has more military might then them so they secretly start rebuilding and fighting each other. And generally earth government is trying to be in three place at one without really knowing where to start with thier problems.
To me this was peak Armored Core. After AC2, the series became more about features and graphics over gameplay or level design. Missions like the one where you have to run through all that heat radiation while the screen is warping with ps2 graphical goodness stuck with me till this day. Also the parts and colour options were sublime!
@@MILDMONSTER1234 I started with 3 and personally hated it. The map sizes were so small compared to 2 and the explosions look cheap. Overall most the MTs except the cloaking ones are pretty forgetible. Silent line and on was better but 3 made me rethink if I liked the series
@@trevinsingh9390 I felt the opposite, the bigger maps in 2 are bigger then in 3 but on average 2 has more claustrophobic closed in areas then 3 which I’ve never cared for. MTs looking cheap is a downside I’ll gladly take in favor of faster gameplay. Even building a light weight mobile ac in 2nd gen still feels far slower then in first and third gen the difference is night and day. Some people prefer it since Overboost is a thing so fair enough but I prefer pace of the other games but ac2 i still think is good
