Well i hope you enjoy. V and verdict day are a little troublesome when it comes to its lore as there is two sides, one that it is it own time line and another that its link to for answer. However that aside have fun with these two games and let me know how you get on. I do like hear about the experiences of players.
Thank you for making this mammoth of a video. Having played fA before 4 this was exactly what I needed as 4 left me with more questions than answers, even regarding basic plot points. It is baffling how FromSoftware has put in the effort to have an evolving world while not bothering to tell what's happening in a way where you can get the broad strokes the first time around.
I'm glad it helped. It is a shame however i think they did a lot better in FA, i like to put AC4 down to it was a new game, new ideas and the team was being pushed.
FA was definitely a lot better in that regard. I could see the story telling in 4 being an attempt at souls like story telling, but who knows. But then again just looking at the menus in 4, it all feels a bit rushed imo. I even needed a guide to find the 'arena'. Though I like how they set it up to be virtual.
I got back into the For answer grind There hasn't been a game since thats captured my focus The soundtrack is great but Rebel path turns battles in anime moments
Indeed, the fact that you've flown under the radar for so long (both in skill and in your psychopathy) that you were essentially unnoticed until you kill the remaining, most elite Lynxes in a 5v1...is insane. Doubly so that it was no contest in your favor. Completely an anime moment, but I love it so very much and the years have done nothing to dull those feelings.
@@DeltafangEX In AC games you retry a mission mostly because you have the wrong loadout, well since the briefing is worthless it happens. But not that mission, you know EXACTLY what's coming and it will still take you a lot of tries.
Armored Core 4 is by far my favorite Armored Core in the series. The movement, the characters, the story, the music, the legend that is you. Everything just feels so good. And the stories and friends I made over the multiplayer. Ill never forget the time a duo team of "master bladers" said they could take on 6 of us at once. Hahahah amazing times. I would like to say no since motherwill seem to lack the need for such wired interactions. However we never get to see inside the walking fortress so its a guessing game at this point. I like to think motherwill as more a large battleship or tank where thousands of crew members are operating the systems, running checks and doing all sorts to keep her moving and ready for battle.
Armored core 6 needs to come out like soon, ever my 360 died on me I have missed this series so bad and I really want to get lost in it again plz fromsoftware release it soon 😩
Timestamp 3:22 transcript. since he didn't verbally say "if they ganged up on him. is that not part of the lore, and its more like Pacific Rim were you simply couldn't hardly use it at all, if you weren't compatible? or is it IF Normals ganged up on you, youd become lumbering, stuttering and useless?
I'm happy to answer that. Its more of a case of a pilot could not even move the next if they did not have any ams capability. Some low ams pilots however as we know would push through it if you will. But this put a huge strain on thier body and brain if the next was not adapted to support them (Like the GA Sunshine E for example and anything with weapon arms) The line about normals was in the original script, however after more research i decided to cut it during recording. But i forgot to edit it out of script after. And since i post the script into youtube to use for subtitle creation the line remains. Hope this helped.
@@armoredcorelore Whoaaaaa, so some pilots simply had lower ams then others? So some couldn't ever pilot a AC while others could? if im understanding this correctly, and I'm not just really tired, then it is like Pacific Rim to a degree. Which is really cool

Slightly in a anime way? And if the other corps didn't have ams were they clunky in piloting, and physically stressed or how did they manage to fair? Pls and thank you I love this shnickers.
@@bentravis777 Ha ha ask as many questions as you like i don't mind. No all corporations had ams technology as its what made nexts, nexts. So everyone was on a sort of level playing field. But they where not the only one as other characters such as joshua, sherring, celo and other lynxs also had this.
@@armoredcorelore the battle went well, I first saw this fight watching not otzdarva, and I was expecting it to be really hard, it only took me 2 tries… I don’t remember my exact build, but I use a laser cannon on the back, signal jammers on my shoulders, the dragon slayer laser blade, the higher quality standard rifle, and a extended radar on my other back… that’s my typical build anyway, I may have switched out the laser blade for another gun for this fight, and possibly switched the radar for missiles, but I can’t remember. As far as my mech type, it’s a medium build with standard legs, and good generator and thrusters.
I ma very glad that someone is talking s our the story of armored core 4. I played both games and 4 had bad story telling. For answer was a better improvement on story telling
I would have to agree For Answer did a much better job with the story telling. Still as always with fromsoft there was some story events that made everyone scratch thier heads.
@@armoredcorelore oh yes I get that now! That's what I meant by my DS comment. That Dark Souls has heaps of lore hidden in the details, and clearly AC does as well. I can see how it may have come off like I was comparing the two unfavorably haha.
The underdogs vs the big bads. It wold have been neat to see such a tale in ACFA maybe as a forth route which really pushes the player with multiply nexts and arms-forts battles.
Just to add, the only scary part about it all truthfully is that the modern governments of the world in AC4 were overthrown by the corporations because of over population, food shortages and natural disasters wrecking civilization, something that is guaranteed to be more noticable as the years go on in our real world timeline. Predictive-Programming is a real thing & all empires fall eventually, there's some allegories going on here. 😉 Let that sink in.

Well kojima is the name of the particle most corporation used for energy and to power acs along with other machine of war. but you said it, Armored core is back and i know I'm ready to scarp some mts.
@@armoredcorelore thanks for the clarification on that. i didn't realize how much lore this game actually had before subbing to your channel. my first ac experience was ac1 and i was playing it for days on end with my friends and family. i tell all my current friends who are souls fans that the only thing that ac and souls games share is difficulty. i told them there are no healing items/potions in this game and that you have to watch how you expend your ammo and take damage or it will hurt you in the long run in terms of saving credits for upgrades. and that i guess this is similar to souls game where the weights and power of weapons also provide balance in which too much power means upgrading your generator and too heavy of a build in terms of bigger weapons requires greater weight support in terms of building a heavier mech (in souls games you have to upgrade your dex and strength for heavy weapons). but i guess the short answer to them is that there are two totally different types of games lol
Lovely videos, I really didn't want to go back into AC4 and the story is presented in such a bland way with long-ass, boring briefings and stuff is being told while playing where I'm focused on surviving and not paying attention. Thanks a lot for the videos! I haven't checked yet, but hopefully there are summaries for every game, because I truly don't want to go back to play oldgen at all after so much time playing AC4A and ACVD.
Thank you very much and it is a bit of a bummer to try to hear lore while getting shot at i will admit. As for stories so far i have covered the story of ac1, project phantasma and tomorrow the master of arena one will be up, so hopefully this will give the know how you need of the first gen.

Seed a Baren Earth. For any that got even half as deep as I did into the story, it changes you. To watch all that you loved, all that you fought for, and everything you have built sacrificed in an instant. It never once crossed my mind, even for a second that it could all just be taken away. I had to pause for a moment, when I heard his voice. "No!!! NOOO!!!" I exclaimed out loud. "Not Joshua, not him". He was the one Lynx that drove me to get better, push harder, and never give up no matter how overwelming the odds were.... and now I HAD to destroy him. I thought I had lost everything, but realized there was always so much more that could be taken. So I, and Pixy charged with tear filled eyes and... we won. It wasnt till a second playthrough I found out what happened at the end, I dropped the controller and had to jump out of charactor. Didnt touch the game for a couple of weeks after that. Then, I got right back at it. A long while later, I eventually picked up ACFA and loved every second of it. I was constantly pushing myself to get better and better, till eventually I became the fastest. I didnt know why at first, but all I wanted was to find others that could beat me. I now know why. Because you cant surpass your limits unless you know what your limits are. In my new build Sonic Boom, I began doing 2v1. then 3v1, and 4v1. I kept climbing untill it was always me against an entire lobby. I began learning from these players who the best were and what builds they used, and I wanted to take them all on. From Blood Drunk to the unstoppable AI someone had made. I saw the potential to beat me. And thus, the pontential to find a new limit to break. Whomever you that has read all this, never give up. When 110% isnt enough, give it 210%. You have so much more you can give, and so much more to loose should you give up
Random useless fact: Ubisoft publishing Armored Core: For Answer has to be the happiest moment. If not for them, Fromsoftware would have made the choice to not bring it here to the west.
I always thought the story of AC4 was unrelated to the prior story (AC1-LR), but I have heard from some that the two stories are linked. But this video doesn't seem to support that theory, and seems to support what I originally thought.
Well there are theories that do try to link the games. However we have a timeline for all the ps1 and ps2 game from the book armored core 10 complete works which shows no links to the 4th generation of games. You can find it on the ac wiki if you would like to take a look yourself.
@@ex0gen Theoretically speaking if would make sense if Armored Core 4 and 5 was a prequel to the PS1 armored core games, AC4 shows how the modern world as we know it; the nations of earth are replaced with corporations during the National dismantlement war, after the events of AC4 Awnser the kojima radiation could be what caused 'The great destruction' forcing humans to live in the underground cities because of the contaminated surface of the earth, NEXT are taken out of commission for causing these calamities and Normal AC's become the standard. AC5 could be what happens right before Humanity goes underground for the next few hundred years, since the surface of the earth is basically inhospitable by the time AC5 happens and NEXT are considered forbidden technology by this point. The AMS could likely be a precursor to Human Plus and OP-INTENSIFY. Being reversed engineered from the AMS which would be considered lost and forbidden technology by the time the PS1 AND PS2 timelines are playing out. If you fill in the blanks with the lore the games presents to you like the Dark Souls series did it all makes a lot of sense, in theory.
@@C4-3341 I've heard a similar theory. However, the only problem is in the original AC1 manual, after the Greet Destruction, humanity went underground, and the muscle tracer technology emerged under ground, eventually leading to the development of AC's around a 'core concept.' This would mean that they would have had to reinvent the same technology as before, from scratch, which is highly unlikely. I think it makes more sense they just reinvented the story in various ways as they go along.

All we know is it was based in South Asia, so it could have held control of a number of countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. However on the wiki we can read that the subtext on the Eqbal logo reads "Vande Mataram! Sujalam, suphalam, malayaja shitalam, Shasyashyamalamm, Mataram! Shubhrajyothsna pulakitayaminim Phullakusumita drumadala shobinim. Suhasinim sumadhura bhashinim, Sukhadam varadam, Mataram!" Which are verses from the poem "Vande Mataram (Mother, I Salute Thee,)" found in the novel Anandamath by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. The poem has been adopted as the national song of India as such this is a suggestion the corporation may of had it roots in India. But again nothing out rightly stated where the headquarters of Eqbal was.

I'm glad to read you enjoyed it. There is a lot of story to be had and well the books add to this too.
You are my favorite armored core content creator
Edit: i dont care about your delays, this shits so good I revisit the videos, quality is your game
Thank you for you very kind praise. I hope to keep going for as long as i can and well i have let quality slip sometimes like with the ac6 lore video. But i will learn from it and get better. Thank you again for the very kind words, it has warmed my heart.
@@armoredcorelore ngl every time you speak it sounds like the narrator in the campaign for star wars battlefront 2 from 2005 and I love it
edit i'm sorry, forgot english people exist
The NEXT vaatvidya (mech partner of vaati)... you did a good work at your lore videos love it
Thank you for kind praise.
Now I'm watching this before playing V & Verdict Day, and before VI launches cause I'm completely new to this series xD
The way I see it AC4 come out after Demon souls. So I have a feel they were still in that Esoteric story telling mind set
4 and 4A both have bad translations, as well.
I got back into the For answer grind
There hasn't been a game since thats captured my focus
The soundtrack is great but Rebel path turns battles in anime moments
Oh yes the ost is a banger.
Thank you for continuing to keep Armored Core alive and bring in new Ravens to this amazing series :) Keep up the great work, Raven.
Thank you, i will do my best.
how many water bottles did you drink narrating this? very curious.
One, but it was the early morning start that got me. Had to be all done before the builders across the road started working.
We should send him some exotic waters from across the earth sphere. And see how each effects his voice haha
This is really well done! its great to hear someone cohesively put the story together after id just got done with the game.
Thank you for your kind praise. How was you time with the 4th generation of armored core?
@@armoredcorelore Yeah just came from armored core 3 the controls are a big step up. It was really good, excited to how they refine the gameplay in 4a.

Armored Core is back babyyy!!!!!
Whoop! Whoop!
Seeing a video this long feels so good. U the man ACLore.
Thank you for you kind words.
Never played this as a kid, but it seems alright
I wonder if mother will had a crew of people wired into it?
I would like to say no since motherwill seem to lack the need for such wired interactions. However we never get to see inside the walking fortress so its a guessing game at this point. I like to think motherwill as more a large battleship or tank where thousands of crew members are operating the systems, running checks and doing all sorts to keep her moving and ready for battle.
Armored core 6 needs to come out like soon, ever my 360 died on me I have missed this series so bad and I really want to get lost in it again plz fromsoftware release it soon 😩
I'm crossing my fingers.

But this put a huge strain on thier body and brain if the next was not adapted to support them (Like the GA Sunshine E for example and anything with weapon arms)
The line about normals was in the original script, however after more research i decided to cut it during recording.
@@bentravis777 Correct in ac4 and for answer ams was something people where born with and some people had high capability with the system of next and other had none at all. However aspina was also experimenting with the system.
@@armoredcorelore ok one more nerdy question, did only Anatolia - or whichever the Good guy corperation was - have the ams tech? Putting the Main character in a league above the rest as a pilot? Slightly in a anime way? And if the other corps didn't have ams were they clunky in piloting, and physically stressed or how did they manage to fair? Pls and thank you I love this shnickers.
@@bentravis777 Ha ha ask as many questions as you like i don't mind. No all corporations had ams technology as its what made nexts, nexts. So everyone was on a sort of level playing field. But some corporations had more Lynx (Pilots of next then others)
Anatolia's mercenary was a person with just very high compatibility with the ams system. But they where not the only one as other characters such as joshua, sherring, celo and other lynxs also had this.
Both You and Gundam Facts are awesome!!!!

Ngl… I just beat white glint in acFA and I didnt realize Fiona was the girl from ac4 lol
Ha ha. Well while we're on this subject, you know I have to ask how was your battle with White Glint? And what next were you using?

Such a good friend.
The closest well ever get to a love story in AC lol. Feel bad for Anatolia's merc and Fionas sad ending in for answers. God damn league bastards.
It is quite sad, but i guess the world of war and corporations has no care for the love.
This was my first AC on ps3. I loved it but i thiught there was essentially no story. I guess its storytelling is more like DS than I thought.
Oh there is a story there. But having fun is important too.
@@armoredcorelore oh yes I get that now! That's what I meant by my DS comment. That Dark Souls has heaps of lore hidden in the details, and clearly AC does as well. I can see how it may have come off like I was comparing the two unfavorably haha.
@@mechamahou8467 Ha ha honestly i did not read it as you Unfavourably comparing the two. DS and AC do have a lot in common as you say with hidden lore
Rayleonard facing and dealing with the devil, how more true than one thinks.

The underdogs vs the big bads. It wold have been neat to see such a tale in ACFA maybe as a forth route which really pushes the player with multiply nexts and arms-forts battles.
This make me understand Armored Core 4 story more since my PS3 copy is all Japanese dub.
Glad it helped.
Imagine if the game actually translated any of this 🤣. Awesome stuff!
Thank you.
I love that the corporations were able to dismantle and force the world's governments into surrender without even needing to use Nuclear Weapons.
All they needed was a few super robots and their own private armies. Scary really ha ha.
@@armoredcorelore I'd say reassuring rather than scary ☺️ but that's just my opinion.
I like your voice. Keep up the videos. You have the means to be a good lore channel for AC6 as well. Take a look at a destiny 2 youtuber named BYF. Think you could be AC BYF lol
Thanks I'll take a look.
Why am I not surprised that Kojima is one of the names of the corps on
This game lol. Always ac is back baby! Are you ready fellow Ravens!?
So is this channel the Armored Core version of Vaaiti Vidya?
It's a fair comparison. However, i do like to think Vaati and myself have different ways to present and talk about the lore we cover.
That music for marche au supplice 💪🏾
It is beautiful.
As for stories so far i have covered the story of ac1, project phantasma and tomorrow the master of arena one will be up, so hopefully this will give the know how you need of the first gen.

i think you left the intro for the second video in at the end by accident
No, no i promise its there for a reason. It is meant to be the preview of the next video to come. I did it for all the other videos so i thought I'd keep it going here.
You have so much more you can give, and so much more to loose should you give up
MOOOOORE!!!

Random useless fact: Ubisoft publishing Armored Core: For Answer has to be the happiest moment. If not for them, Fromsoftware would have made the choice to not bring it here to the west.
But armored core 5 verdict and 6 fires of rubicon is published by bandai namco

Eqbal was based out if India right?
14:32 Funni name.
Yes it is. However in Herbrew the name means God rescues, Yahweh is salvation. So i guess it suit Sus as someone who is trying to save his people.
