- This happened soon after my first encounter with the Adamantoise. Includes a couple cutscenes, then... yeah. :p I actually do like it when games have enemies to fight and place to go that will just totally smite you if you wander into them unprepared. :p

Cactuar uses 10k needles on the ONE CHARACTER that leads to an immediate game over.

except there are zero penalties for failing and if you win health is fully restored and status effects are removed as soon as you exit the battle. so all i can think of is hope wasting a healing spell on himself or a party member instead of me during a boss battle

why does it seem like sazh has the most animation when it comes to reactions. like when he gets shocked he jumps back alittle and his arms go back like vanille touched the weather changing device and when he saw hope fall off the cliff and now when he attempted to pounce on the cactuar. nobody else does these reactions or motions

Cactuars are the best enemies for memes but the worst to fight. "1000 needles" deal 1000 damage regardless of defense and since he's a Gigantuar he can do "10000 needles"

Well, the cactuar king in FFX looks like a normal, small one
But his attacks are 10k needles and 99k needles
I know a known tactic in XI when we had to deal with Cactus NMs we had to have EVERYONE huddle up on the boss cause the Needle Damage gets divided among each person in range of it

Ive been through that area a ridiculous amount of times and have yet to trigger that scene >.>
Have you unlocked the ability to use chocobos? If you haven't, I'm pretty sure you need them to jump to the particular cliff where the cutscene triggers. If you have, then eh? Not sure? As for the Gigantuar cutscene, you need to accept a B grade mission from a C'ieth stone, which, from memory, is right near a cliff edge with herds of enemies all around. They lied about it being B grade; for the uninitiated it's one of the hardest fights in the game -__-

No matter how many times I see these scenes I can't help but cracking up! Sazh getting outrun by a cactus twice is just. . .🤣
I've found the ideal party for taking on Gigantuar is Snow as tank and Commando, Lightning as combo of healer and damage dealer, and (obviously) Sazh as buffer, damage dealer and stagger assist.

You loose when one of your characters goes down?
I guess to avoid "Why don't they use a phoenix down?" discussions.
It's only when you, the team leader is down it's an automatic Game Over. You can continue the fight if your teammates are down. You can only use Phoenix Down on your teammates, not you.
They changed it in XIII-2 when you're down, you immediately switch to the next member in your party.
