Fun fact: In the movie Kingsglaive, there's a scene where the protagonist and his friends were snacking and drinking at a nearby food vendor. And if you look closely at the vendor's shop, he has alot of what seems to be dried cactuars for consumption. It seems in their world, cactuars are edible and are a delicacy
now maybe we know why they're rare and run all the time. maybe they used to be common and possibly even docile, but then someone got trigger happy with fire magic, and a Cactuar got hit accidentally. then one thing led to another, and here they are hunting the Cactuars to near extinction. sucks, too, because Cactuars are my favorite FF creature, besides Tonberries. They both tie for first, I think. but yeah, poor little Cactuars
First found these guys in Monster Hunter World while fighting a Deviljho. Did a double take mid fight when I spotted it, and when the deviljho hit both me and the Cactaur, it proceeded to unleash a torrent of spiky spines that chased off the big pickle monster lol
The Funniest thing is that I thought it was Pronounced "Cactaur" (Like a Centaur) and used to pronounce it as such. I was surprised I had been pronouncing it wrong for years.

Hate to break it to you, but if they're readily available at a bar, they're probably not a delicacy and more normal food 😭

Cactuar are better than Tonberry
23:10 There's a Final Fantasy anime???
Yes, a very old one and comparatively obscure, "Final Fantasy Unlimited". I've never seen it myself so I can't speak to its quality
All this lore for quirky green cactaur folk...
Happens in a nearly 40-year old franchise
2:07 I don't remember that boss/GF having facial hair at all.
How could you forget such a magnificent stache'?
