Thanks for this informative video. It must be frustrating to be restricted to such a low power limit, especially as this particular rifle is capable of so much more. I wonder if your lack of muzzle energy is compounded by having a short barrel. A longer barrel might help to get the pellet spinning and therefore stabilise it in flight a little better, and therefore increase accuracy. You could also get into tuning the internals to make the firing cycle smoother, which again will help accuracy. But you are enjoying your hobby regardless and for that I salute you. Clearly most people commenting below have not understood how seriously detuned your rifle is and how that is going to affect accuracy. Best wishes from the UK.
I have the same in laminate blue 7,5 joules. I think that you need a true bench rest bag for good support, and probably set the movement on the table that dance. I use jsb exact 4,52
Research the artillery hold. Weihrauch HW97 is a supremely accurate rifle. I own a HW77 and at 25m it is pellet on pellet. I also own a HW100 at 50 joules. This rifle is pellet on pellet at 50 metres. Experiment with pellets and your technique. Your accuracy and consistency will improve.
Totally agree, I got a second hand HW97K last week after not shooting for years, it has an awful scope and my groupings are much tighter and more accurate, I hold the rifle and do not use anything else to support it
@@chrisbourke528 i have a Weihrauch hw97k too, in 6,35mm, and at 30m i still hit pellet on pellet, and it's more accurate than my gamo cfx royale 5,5mm at 30-50m. But at 60 and beyond my cfx royale have tighter groups, and i dont actually know why. Maybe It's because the gamo has much more power at that range?
The shooting range I go to, is marked out in yards. I have the same rifle as you and manage to get good groups at 25 and 30 yards, shooting at 2 inch targets. As you know, there are many factors, that govern the accuracy of any rifle over long distance. I would try putting your rifle on a zeroing mount. That will cut out human error, when it comes to checking for accuracy. If there is still a problem, check your sites are fixed and secure, as the recoil can shake them loose on the mounts, and maybe try another pellet type. I use Accupell and H&N field target trophy pellets. They seem to give the most consistent results. Also managing the recoil on a Springer, is an important skill to learn. Don’t hold the rifle too tight and allow the recoil to go straight into your shoulder. Shooting PCPs is a piece of cake, compared to shooting a Springer rifle. But that is its charm. I know the HW97KT, is a supremely accurate rifle and better than my ability to shoot it. But it is very rewarding, when you get it right. Very best wishes from the UK. 😊
I have owned a blue laminate 97 in .177 for a couple of years now. I also own 5 higher end PCPs in assorted calibers. I bought the HW 97 because all accounts praised its accuracy. I have concluded that it may be accurate for a spring gun but you are comparing apples and oranges when considering a PCP. I have tried the different holds on the 97. I have given the rifle my best ability. I don't think I have shot significantly better groups than you did in your video. But with any of my PCPs, it is one pellet up the skirt of the previous pellet sent down range at 25 meters.
Springers can match pcps if they are in the right hands. Pcps are boringly easy to shoot accurate with no recoil my 8 year old nephew can shoot a pcp pellet on pellet at 27 yards but give him a Springer and it's a 3" spread. I can pick off match sticks one after another with my tx at 27 yards at my local gun range and that was something 3 pcp boys were struggling to do. I've never owned a pcp for that reason but I've shot Springers and highly tuned Springers for 19 years of my life the first 7 years it's was most days. Practice makes perfect my friend
@@SpringisKING totally agree. Springers are hard to shoot. You really need to put the practice in and understand the forces at work within the gun when you pull the trigger. But they can be much more rewarding than a pcp.
I have that blackline to,but at 24 joule i am not shooting it indoors thats for sure😏but at higher power output it will be more accurate at longer distances i can assure you👍
I love your HW97k in synthetic, im gonna buy the exact one. Maybe you should try different weight pellets for the 25 and 50 yard shots. Good video my friend.
I have the gun in blackline and stainless. I shoot shot on shot at 50 meters like you did at 10. Deadly accurate it is,.. I think it is te gunner not the gun,.. Or ammo,.. I use the H&N Field Target Tropy. Yours could like other pellets,.. JSB and H$N are both one if the best manufactures indeed! Do you use the artilery hold,.. it looked like it though,... Also take the wind into account. It is different when you shoot inside,..
here in UK we are complaining about the limit of sub 12 foot/ LB. for rifles. we should be happy with what we got since 5.5 foot/ LB is very low power.
You should have tried different brand pellets to find the ones the gun barrel likes , makes a massive difference past 20 yards ,, at least this is what I have found with my guns ,,, cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
Hi I have just bought a 97k with a hawk pararama mil dot scope for 250. Couple of tiny marks on woodwork but nothing major. I hope I did the right thing..need some possativity please
Shame you cannot get better grouping, maybe you try lots of different pellets to find what the barrel is happy with , them guns have good reputation for being accurate ,, and also maybe clean the barrel? Cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
hello from Canada. l am thinking of buying a weihrauch hw97k for my 14 years old grandson. what scope do you suggest that is within $100 range and below? do you suggest a synthetic stock? thank you so much
Hello. Hawke scope, but I am not sure what scopes are available in Canada. Also consider, that I have experience only with 7.5 Joule airguns (limit in Hungary). In Canada probably you have stronger airguns, recoil is stronger, needs better scope. Synthetic stock needs less maintenance, it better resist to water, rain etc.
I have a 12lb hw97kt and hw100kt the 97 has tighter groups at 50m than the 100...the fps of the 97 is much better at only 4 to 6 fps difference between shots the 100 can be up to 30 fps difference,
It's either the pellets try more or you are not a good shot I can get better groups then that at 50m with my hw80k in 22 my hw99s in 177 and my Hw35e in 177. So it's one of the other it's pellets or your shooting and hold the rifle in your hand and then on the soft rest as they are very must be held right and allowed to recoil
Work on your technique and pellet selection (make, weight and size). The 97 can do much better than what you achieve. With you poor technique a PCP will not do much better

hi i am sorry to hear that the law in your country only allows you to have a 5.5 FT-LBS air rifle, what a stupid law & stupid laws need to be broken. any way i'm sure your group sizes would improve dramatically over the longer ranges that you shoot at if your HW97K was producing say 14 FT-LBS plus . sir you do not need to spend a load of money on a PCP to be a better shot you need a stronger spring & a few other parts for your HW97K to bring the rifle back to how weihrauch designed it to be in the first place. all the best my friend & enjoy your shooting
Very sad the power limit low in your country is so low, I certainly would not recommend shooting any quarry with it, also your groups are terrible for shooting from a rest, I would have expected the 10m groups you shot would be at 25m :(
Yes, you are right. For example, in Hungary, maximal distance limit in HFT competitions is reduced to 45 meters. But with 7.5 Joule spring airgun, anything above 25 meter is gambling.
Indeed at 50 metres i schoot the same like he did at 10. Ex Military here though abd i have put out about 10.000 schots with it. I own the blackline snd Stainless in .22.
Sorry bro, either you have the wrong pellets or you can't shoot Weihrauch gun properly, your groups for the 97KT and the HW 30 were ok at 10m at 25 and 50 you do both rifles a huge disservice, you really should remove your results from AA website. Search youtube for vermin hunters tv and see what Si Pittaway can do 50m with a 97.
No please don’t use pcp! Do not try to control the recoil.... Let it happen let it move when fired! It is a nagyon nagyon jó puska better than Air Arms & I am English! I have exactly the same gun and can beat pcp at my club just learn to hold it gentle with both hands! & try a shooting glove!

Since the grouping on 10 meters is very good, I would say it's the lack of power that spreads the groups on farther distances.
