the CHINESE ELECTRIC SPORTBIKE is FAST AF now [0-60mph, Top Speed, Range Test]

  • This video we re-tune the electric sportbike from china, since we had tuned it incorrectly before! This fresh tune took the performance of the chinese electric motorcycle to the next level, and I couldn't be happier about it. 0-60 test, top speed, and range test. The chinese electric bike has been a longgg adventure, but I think it's finally at the point where I've been wanting it this whole time.

      You can also get shipping insurance but it is doubtful your seller, in this case, would have signed off as they were scamming you all the way down the line.

    Nice to see a smile back on your face. Higher voltage will give you more speed and if you change the throttle mapping [careful could flip the bike] that could improve acceleration time and if similar Kelly 7230 controller there is a time setting; 0 seconds instant power delivery and risk of flipping the bike. Great video. 👍👍👍👍👍😎

    @SateenDuraLuxe 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I did some math. Based off the 0-60 time and a rough guess of the total weight of the motorcycle. The Chinese sportbike is producing about 17-26 HP. There has to be a way to overclock that motor to output more power.

    • @EQINOX187
      @EQINOX187 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      With the current set up sadly no, when it comes to ebikes or emotorbikes ( they are basically the same ) the battery voltage is the limiting factor when it comes to top speed, a lot in the comments seem to think dumping more watts into the motor will make it go faster but this is not the case it would just give it more torque but would not increase the speed, as an example a 48v ebike with a 1000w direct drive motor will max out out 30mph but the same bike with a 5000w controller will still max out at 30 but you will now pull wheelies at the lights. So the only way to make it go faster would be to increase the battery voltage.

    • @BretBowlby
      @BretBowlby 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@EQINOX187 I have a 48v motor on a 52v 20ah battery. Yes top speed goes up. The motor is rated for an rpm rate at 48v. Bumping the bolts gives higher speed. Bumping up the amperage draw gives torque and acceleration. Now yah know. ;)

    • @EQINOX187
      @EQINOX187 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@BretBowlby That is basically what i said o.o. additionally you say 52 but i am guessing its more 58V fully charged as a 48 max charged is 54.6v but a 52v is around 58v, still if it is a 52v / 58v battery that should be good for what 40 or 45 mph, sounds fun though though 30 on my for fun ebike is terrifying lol

    • @EQINOX187
      @EQINOX187 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BretBowlby I was kinda thinking about it and there is away to increase speed without increasing voltage but I do not know if his controller supports it, Most high end controllers have a an option called field weakening but i think it comes at the cost of battery range.

    I also have an electric motorcycle I bought from China in 2014. Unfortunately it stopped working after a few months and I never figured out exactly what went wrong. Following the manufacturer's instructions for testing purposes I was able to make it run by bypassing something. Anyway the battery is probably toast now since it has been just sitting in the garage in a state of disrepair for the last 5 years. Would be nice to get it to someone who would fix it up and get it back on the road if possible. Not the fastest bike - top speed is barely 60mph and acceleration is meh but maybe it just needs some tuning. I also live in the central valley near Visalia.

    Also: if you do goto 112, monitor the temps of the motor. For a 96v just do a 26s 20p. That'll get you 96v 60ah if you go with the Samsung Q30 cells. Pretty fun ride for just a bump in volts. I've got a 48v that's overvolted and pulls like a champ.

    Thank you for these details for the number of Poles because when I go to the application: MQCON for my Sabvoton controller, (also having a QS motor wheel motor, a V3 of 8000 Watts nominal and 12000 watts peak at 72 Volts nominal and normally from what I can withstand a maximum voltage of 96 Volts) one of the parameters that I have not modified is precisely the number of poles and as on your software, it is set to the number of 16, so that it is surely a 2 X 16 poles as well, and like you, when it accelerates fully it has a latency of almost 2 seconds and then it shoots off like an arrow, on the other hand it is given for a 110 km/h in top speed, and well I know that it all depends on the weight of my Bomber that I assembled in KIT with most of the parts ordered on AliExpress which weighs 80 kg and the weight of the pilot too, I weigh 77 kg and therefore I max. at 101 km/h between 9 and 10 seconds, it already accelerates very strongly, but if I didn't have this latency of almost 2 seconds which makes it soft on start-up even if you wring the handle, I'm sure that I will do 0 to 100 km/h in not even 8 seconds or even less than that and I could reach 110 km/h or even more. And I see that your engine has a lot of engine braking, I also modified the advanced parameters because from the factory there was no engine braking, therefore no braking regeneration, and I added the deceleration at the throttle, and now I have a very big engine brake and you can hear it, lol! I have a bms which accepts max 50 A in recharge and 40 A in the parameters and I have a very good and fast regeneration without it harming the controller, because some having set values that are too high or unsuitable, have fried their controller. So I'm going to put 32 poles in the settings and see if I gain torque and therefore acceleration speed and top speed too.
    Here is my Bomber:

    I equally bought one as well, and to give a review, its pretty zippy, and after about 6 months of riding or so, I can also say that is excellent for beginners (I took up riding during the pandemic), and I have gotten alot of compliments, like (what is that? dude thats sick, etc). but unfortunately, I really want to start taking it on the highways, but that means derestricting, and it also means that I will need some help trying to modify it. I see that the software is kelly controllers, and I have literally the same bike ( I used the inja's link originally). What should I set the software to in order to accomplish this task?

      I don't ride but I've driven a kinds of gas cars and do whatever tweaks them I can to get more performance and efficiency out of my fleet. I figured out a few simple tweaks and mods to make the electronic ignition distributer better on the timing curve for the 318 in my Dart, involving swapping old and newer parts around to make the best of both. You can do all kinds of things like that once you understand how something works and what else uses similar parts. They are doing most of it in the control program for what they have and learning more from others and themselves as they figure out everything till its as tuned as it can get. As far as power once your used to what you have and figure out a new improvement just hitting it for a short blast will be obvious if you truly found some more power.

    Interesting video, electric is all about the controller and battery.
    Whats ultimately sad i live in NZ built a electric kids quad and pretty got laughed and when tried to sell it for even cost price 3k nzd (30 mins full throttle - up to 100kph if set for direct drive or geared down to 35kph)
    Goes to show that the world still doesn't get how cool electric is and in places like NZ where access to batteries etc is hard or expensive (def feel left out)
    Anyways thanks for great video
