    Lego should go back to radio controlled, way way better than infrared...

      Was going to say that... A few years ago I got an RC Lamborghini from my colleagues at work and, after keeping it around the house, I finally took it to the countryside for the holidays since we had sunny weather. Just for laughs, I wanted to see how far it would go until the signal was lost (it's just some cheap remote system after all), but it ended up driving a little over 80 meters away (my brother followed it until it stopped), by which point I couldn't even see what it was driving over, so it's way more than you'd ever need for just fun in a park or something.

      I never knew Lego used radio originallyx

      @@air-headedaviator1805 Sure, back in 1996 they had a radio controlled car, very good set, one of those is the 5600 set and there are some actual radio controlled cars that was released later on, Lego need to offer something like this again.

    • @vtr0104
      @vtr0104 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@air-headedaviator1805 And for one generation, they also offered an RC system for their trains, for 7897 and 7898. It had a speed-variable remote like the Power Functions Trains do, but no IR sensor was needed. The Locomotive base included the power unit (an integrated battery box for 6 AA Batteries) and a radio-channel selector (each train base had 3 available channels and each remote had three channels as well, so one remote could presumably operate a large number of trains). It also had an integrated train horn sound and emergency instant-stop function.
      Since it had a stackable plug, like PF units do (it could take a motor and lights, for example), I think you could use it as a base for something that would offer decent range and speed control (no one says a train motor needs to be the only thing being powered).

      Just a tip, you can purchase a Bluetooth-compatible console controller, and while you still have to use the app on a phone to set it up, the controller can be used to drive the creation.
