ive ran 2 antique crawlers, the first was about a circa 1953 international TD9 dozer, and the second was a caterpillar 933 loader, circa 1960 both were equally busy to operate and required really fast operation on the controls to get some work done! whew! they were fun for a little while but Ill take my john deere 455e any day over those hand clutch manual transmission machines for daily work!!
I wonder why most of the LO's were converted to petrol - Ok gas. did the diesel give problems? I believe the diesel engine was designed to idle on only two cylinders.
Due to the legenth of the big motor, they used 3 sets of 2 cyl heads and shorter exhaust manifolds to avoid the issue with breaking those long castings.
@@RJ1999x Funny that you choose to take offense rather than acknowledge the fact. I made my statement because of the many machines(especially steam locomotives) that people "got running" but claim they have restored; they have no ideal of the meaning of restoration, which is to bring back to original specs. and full functionality as intended by the manufacturer.
@@Hogger280 I merely pointed out, you can buy an L and fully restore it, I've done plenty, and it's very very very expensive. I took no offence to your comment, I'm telling you to put your money where you mouth is, and you seem to find it offensive.
110 horse power but endless amounts of torque. Cool looking machine!
I like "bumping" the governor as well! Fun to hear & feel that torque.
What a beast! Pulled that 12 bottom plow like a 🏆 champ
Wow, a neat looking AC LO, what a horse of a crawler!
I’ve got a 37 SO w/10ft Baker Hyd blade. 4cyl switched to gas. Bought new by co hwy to build roads, mostly pulled a grader.
Love seeing Pinkneyville !

That was fun. Very nice machine.
Really nice machine!!
Saw two of those at a coal mine near Waimate New Zealand about 70 years ago always wondered what happened to them eventually
Very cool
That's what I was on as kid was ac
So is that a straight 6? i wish we could get more information on the engines in these old tractors
yes its an inline 6 and he said it had 2 carbs as well.

id guess they were much easier to start and got the job done so gas it was.
@@MrChevelle83 Here in the UK diesel has always been much cheaper so a lot of people were more likely to put up with being harder to start!
Wow a goliath in 1935.
😎😎😎😎😎👍
Keep on trucking? How about Keep on farming or tractoring? First!
Would've been nice to find out why it has three exhaust stacks. Some detail please. Your videos are getting pretty generic. Thanks.

@@frankwurth5375 Hey thank you, it only took a year but I had high hopes someone would know.
If this crawler only runs on gasoline then it is not restored.
Feel free to buy one and bring it to full restoration

That's not logical. He said he only ran it on gas. He didn't say that it can only run on gas.
That’s 8hp per litre😂
