Hi, thank you for posting this highly informative video. I particularly liked the bit where you differentiate between 'a normal phenomenon' and 'a psychological disorder' while talking about OCD as sometimes this term is used very lightly. The video explains in great detail the diagnosis of OCD in a style that is not too difficult to understand. You have an extremely engaging style in describing the various features of OCD, in particular characteristics of obsessions and compulsions, clinical significance and ego-dystonicity. Most importantly, throughout the video, you were successfully able to reiterate the fact that 'the problem is the problem, the person is not the problem'. Although it felt a bit too long, but I suppose there was a lot to cover to make it such a comprehensive video on OCD diagnosis. I look forward to watching more videos regarding treatment and recovery from OCD. Best wishes and thanks once again
I have religuous ocd for the past 10 years. So i hate god very much. I used to feel that whatever I am doing, iam offending god. But few days back my mother did a fast for god to cure me and the situation has gotten worse. My whole theme has changed Now everything i do, i feel like god is helping me to do this thing especially when i study. So i started to avoid studying because my mind just dont want to take god help and like this iam ruining my life. When i study i feel like, god is controlling me like a puppet and i dont like this feeling . I know, its very complicated. So if i continue to study, will this feeling ever go? Please help sir
Hi Mohit. Thank you for your comment. I could imagine the thoughts and feelings you are having must be quite troubling. Have you been previously diagnosed with OCD by a clinician or is this your assessment? It may well be that OCD is present; however, some of your descriptions also seem to have qualities reminiscent of other difficulties (e.g., other psychological conditions or specific cultural matters). To accurately determine this, you would need to attend an assessment which would then inform us on what type of support would be most appropriate for this difficulty. I hope this helps. Regards.
Thank you for a detailed discussion on this complex topic Dr. Brown.
Thank you, much appreciated!

Thank you very much for the comments! I will endeavour to make the next video a little briefer
