  • I bought a BBB Industries rebuilt rack and pinion off of rock auto. It likely started leaking immediately from the inner ends. Absolute junk. 6 months later and I had to undo one end of the breather pipe just so it could drain. They give a 3 year warranty, but you have to pay to return it, BUT THIS IS A JOB YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO DO OVER, IT IS A PAIN!!! (Note: I wanted to use an awful lot of profanity in this video, but I was afraid youtube would flag me)
Don't waste your time on this junk, spend the extra $100 and buy a brand new after market unit.

Thank you for this PSA! You def saved me some time and frustration by steering me clear of BBB. I'll go with an Edelmann rack brand new; made in the USA, 100yr/1million mile warranty sounds like a winner to me.

The Edelman I installed has been trouble free, I wish I had gone with it the first time. If you have a Caravan, town & country etc, be sure to watch the install video I made w/the Edelman. Thanks for the feedback!

I bought a new power bbb steering gear and a new bbb steering pump from RockAuto. Both of them are absolutely junk. I spent hours to find the issue of blocking steering. But the problems came from the bbb parts. No oil pressure, bad build gear. I just bought used mopar parts and all is fine now.

I swear they just take old parts, clean them, paint them & ship them out. They got your money and they know you won't return it just for another piece of junk exchange.

I just bought a Cardone Rack and Pinion for my Silverado from Rockauto. The part was leaking oil right out of the box.

sadly OEM is no longer available for my 95 Civic. Do you have a brand you can recommend or should I buy a used OEM and take the risk?

I took a quick peek on rock auto, not much choice if it's a power rack and not manual. www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/honda,1995
On my old van years ago I bought a used rack and it held up just fine. I took that van to 330k miles, at least 100k on that rack. In the end it's still a crap shoot.

BBB is rebuilt products. I suspect all they did was paint it.

@@DIYBenzGarage I attend to buy a new power steering from them, now I am confused some people says it's good, what you think about the new parts from the brand

@@ahmadaldahoud1719 I would never buy from them again. For $100 more I could have bought a brand new Edelmann rack. That is a good brand and not rebuilt.
