3 things I wish the Temtem developers can work on for their designs: 1- texture: instead of using different textures they use the same treatment for fur, skin, claws, fins, horns…etc. It makes the temtem look the same, like stuffed animals or plushies, colorful pillows lol 2- colors: goes with texture, but the overall issue I have with the temtem designs is that they look like blobs of 1-3 colors, and they often recycle the same hues and colors across all temtems which are obvious to the eye, I’m not sure if this is a software issue, but instead they could try to use more shades of colors and diversify the hues between their designs, especially the evolutions!!! 3- evolutions: the temtems basically grow “up” or grow “taller” when they evolve, instead they can introduce more dramatic evolutions to show the difference between stages, everything kinda looks like an awkward 2nd evolution to a non-existing 3rd one!! I hope this game succeeds 🙏🏼
When it comes to evolutions, I think I once read that this is what they were going for. I don’t have any sources since it was so long ago but from what I can remember they wanted their Temtem evolutions to be different from say Pokémon, where the creature becomes entirely different after it evolves. They wanted to make it seem like the creature just grew instead of becoming something vastly different. I could be wrong but this is what I remember.
Yeah, the color sceme in the game is so wierd, it literally is a reason for me not picking up the game. It makes the game look like it is a monster collection game for babies. The whole game looks like baby-chewtoy and playmobile color-themed XD
It kinda sucks seeing that almost half the Temtem don't even evolve. Then another big chunk only have one evolution. That's a major appeal to pokemon is catching them and leveling them up to get them strong enough to evolve. I hope in the future they really put more effort into that.
I remember the first couple seemed to fan made-e but the ones I liked had a charm to them, glad to see that as time has gone on I recognize the new ones and it seems they found there own style to what a temtem is
I say that both TemTem and Nexomon have some real top notch designs in there though. I have been having a blast with some Nexomon I have in Extinction, and looking at this video already has me looking forward to playing and getting some of the TemTem already. Smaller roster here but because of that TemTem has a lot more per individual creatures that are solid.
agreed dex seems incomplete lol, and there was only a handful of decent designs. so many great first stages ruined by second or third, and half of the super small temtem don't even get evolutions
@@MidnightGrabber that's the full dex minus one tem, I think the comment at the top was saying it was mildly annoying that I didn't "own" all of them but have "seen' all of them lol
I came here hoping to find a few of these dudes to fall in love with but I just don't like almost any design at all in this game. From taimers to temtem they are all just unappealing or boring to look at for me. Like...almost too similar or generic? I don't know how to describe it past "fantasy monster tm"
I think that has to do with temtems design philosophy where theyre design isnt as important to the concept phase as that comes last because they focus on the technical stuff instead of the design
@e-gothvods4538 Agreed! Many of these designs feel unfinished and not fully realized. The platypus monster looks good, but they were designed by a guest artist who really should have spearheaded character design while they are at it.
Hey Ed! I've finished Arbury update now, and wanted to know your opinion about the full tempedia. Tbh, I don't get caught by this creatures in general. Most of them are so lackluster, uninspired, and weirdly added to the world they belong. The archipelago is very well designed, each island with it's theme, but the temtem that live on them... They seems to be thrown here without no much thinking. It is like the creatures are not developed to this world the developers created, you know? For example, Arbury seems to be Europe based (with old castles, kinda fairy tale woods, etc), but there is so little of Europe in the temtem that live in this place. More than it, there is some temtem that should be in Cipanku, like that digital monk cat and the fire mental fox. Another problem I had was with digital types, or better say, neon types. Just throw a neon light in a random creature and voilà, don't care :) Some tems in Arbury would look better if they don't have the type I don't understand why it is like that, and this take me off the game. As a person that designs creatures since I remember, thise choices are so bad for a game that is focused on creatures.
the weird thing is that watching this video there were several times i thought "that looks kinda cool the final form must be dope as hell" then the next one showed and I was like "oh... that was the final form"
Dang I was really hoping for better designs, 99% of these looks so dorky and fan made. I don't even know if I could pick 6 to be on a team. I was really hoping to have an awesome pokemon style game for Xbox though so I'll still try it. Maybe they look better in game.
I like the designs, but some of the names could be changed, a lot of them sound really similar. Having Mentel, Minttle, Vental, Tental, etc, all in the same game would be confusing for someone with a small brain like me lol
@@user-yl1zf4gf1c The original pokemon games costed $30 and were 2D black and white on the gameboy color. This is full color 3D that you can play on pretty much any platform for $45. I think the price is fair cuz they could've been greedy and dropped it for $60 and they didn't.

These designs are amazing! Pokemon could learn a lot from temtem, I’ve just seen the scarlet/violet dex and most of the new designs are horrible. Pokemon try to get too clever and it doesn’t work. Tuwai, the Eevee of the game
