When my little sister was killed we were devastated. Just before her funeral she came to me and mum and my little brother in a dream and told us not to cry for her, that she was ok. I then lost my dad shortly after and then my little brother then my darling dog and recently my mum, so it's just me. I try to keep them all safe in my heart and go forward but it's hard going as I live alone. Lovely movie thank you XO
Bless your heart.August of 21 I lost my sister on the 18th and my brother the next on the 19th with covid ,five weeks later I lost my other sister with cancer.Exactly 2 years later in 23 I lost another brother. In 2015 I lost my 29 year boy which was a twin to my daughter.Only the Lord got me this far I hope you get your help from him
the Lord Jesus wants to live in you and is nearer and dearer than anyone else. I live by myself and all my family is gone but one brother who never calls me. But the Lord Jesus fills me with His love, joy, and peace.
William Bendiks pops up in loads of movies from this era, he was a very versatile and underrated actor. Plus, what would any movie be without Sir Cedric Hardwicke playing doctor! I just love him.
One of the best psychological movies dealing with grief, real love and sense of life I have ever seen …🌺Pity not too many people watch such a marvellous movie…( Based on the number of viewers and comments)…
Very sweet and charming, even though it deals with a very difficult subject.🌸 I think Maureen O’Hara was one of the most beautiful women that ever lived present tense included.
Oh, my goodness! What a captivating film!!! The plot, the actors--wow. This was a phenomenal classic. And that little girl, I can't wait to google her name. She was something else. She had me in tears a couple of times. Won't be surprised to learn that she, Ms. O'Hara and the movie in general won awards. Also, I was so relieved to see Bill finally let himself go and shed some tears. That's when I knew there was hope for him and Heady. The supporting actor was also great. I'm a hopeless romantic and sentimental to boot and, maybe, this why I love classics. Thank you, Fatime Seferova, for uploading this gem. 🙌
The kid was just great, lovely acting. I wonder if she grew up and become what she wanted. She really made us believe in her dreams. The adult were good actors too :)!!!
She appeared in quite a few movies as a child but by aged 21 her career had fizzled out. She married and had 4 children. She died aged 68 from cancer, in 2001 in Santa Rosa.
Maureen beautiful as always And very good in this movie William Bendix some comic relief in this and life of Riley but he showed some very good dramatic s in his portrayal of babe Ruth charming actress that played the little girl
She probably wanted to...but the producers nixed it. Had to be Elegant at Every Moment if you were a glamour star in the 30s and 40s! (And yes, I had the same thought about the coat 😆)
The sets used for the house in Long Island are the same as for the house in Leave her to Heaven and Dorothy McGuire’s house in Darien., CT in Gentlemen’s agreement.
I remember many many years ago when I first saw this on tv boy did I cry n then Maureen n John together again in Miracle on 34th Street n they were in another movie together I think it was called Tripoli please someone correct me if I’m wrong the remake of Sentimental Journey with Robert Stack was alright but not as good as original
Yes, the remake with Robert Stack and Lauren Bacall was named The Gift of Love. This version was far better. The people could actually act in this one.
I love Maureen O'Hara. Maureen was Irish, if you listen carefully you'll hear how she doesn't quite pronounce th perfectly, there's no th sound in Irish.
John Payne And Maureen O'Hara together again after miracle on 34,,"th street once again good together in A very good movie I'm not sure this was made before or after miracle on 34th street

Julie's codependency, manipulative actions, and dishonesty sure did cause a lot of unnecessary pain. A good movie teaching us on what not to do.😂 Very passive aggressive personality.😂😮
Those were different times. I’d rather go back to respect for parents and spouses than this woke BS today. Anyway, Bill dotes on Julie, so it’s not like she’s his indentured slave. They spoil each other with love, equally.
A bit of a creepy kid. Urgh! Way too much responsibility dumped on her! 😢 That's what happens when a dying person tries to play God! I've no patience with secrets and overpampering of a grown man. Sick! Nah, laboured through this almost to the end. Lost all patience when she took off on the bus all alone! Around 1:22:16. Never could abide such nonsense in kids. 🤷♀️ Happy Christ the King Sunday, all.💕✝️🙂
Wow you quote Christ yet speak like a demon. Julie obviously wanted a normal life and she was entitled to that. Hiddy isn’t creepy. She’s a very thoughtful, loving child, even since she gave Julie her shell so she could hear the ocean. As for Bill, he is obviously grieving very hard. He needed to learn that losing Hiddie would be just as bad as losing Julie because they are a family. When I lost my son, I just wanted to give up and die, too. This is just a movie, but your remarks are horrible and uncalled for. You really know how to spoil a good movie!

Especially present tense…😉
Totally agree Maureen was one of the most beautiful actresses past or present
A play within A movie works well
That little girl was a marvelous little actress 😢😢😢 in this wonderful sweet sentimental tear jerker of a movie
Splendid film ... in which is far better the remake . John Payne and Maureen O'Hara were wonderful .
What else would a kid expect from her favourite Uncle..... what a lovely thing to say.

It’s what we used to call ‘a tear jerker’. A lovely old film. Thank you.
Omygoodness, what a touching darling movie, grief😢 is difficult
Well that little girl should have got an Oscar also the other marvelous actors Great story great film
Very sweet and charming, even though it deals with a very difficult subject.🌸
Any information about behind the scenes ❓
Oh my, what a tear jerker! Happy ending !

One of my top favorites from Maureen. ❤
WHAT A GREAT MOVIE, WONDERFUL THESE DAYS. THANK YOU.

Maureen O'Hara spent her final years in my home town, Boise, ID.
John Payne looked absolutely in real mourning. Very authentic

This movie is heartbreaking 😢love it❤❤❤
WATCHED THIS ABOUT 4 TIMES OVER THE YEARS....THANK YOU X

Child actress Connie Marshall was brilliant in this.
She was also wonderful in

@@Olena-g7o not trivializing it. I loved the movie actually. I found those parts funny. Nothing wrong with that! You might wanna lighten up.

If you've got to be haunted, it's best to be haunted by Maureen O'Hara ;-)

The little girl Marshall is a great actress so sweet deserved better n life
It's disturbing that the little girl basically became the man's wife... HE should be taking care of Her.
Emmesment I know it was a movie
Just didn't seem right to me
The whole reason for adopting her was rather selfish.
@@GiftSparks I agree.
He was a big baby, she should have dumped him and kept the child

Code Hollywood.
Pre code movies are different.
They likely had a better relationship as they slept next to each other in heart and had space to move in sleep without disturbing each other...

Absurd. ALL religions and the non-religious are welcome into heaven. You lack true Christianity, fellowship, and the spirit of Jesus.
