Hey everyone! This channel's still very new so I wanted to welcome everyone who subscribed and watched this video! Hope you're doing great and so happy to have you! Did you like this video? Would you like to see more videos like it in the future?
As a fellow designer I just wanna share my 2 cents. I think the old menu is good enough for what its designed to do. It might be a relic but it works well with getting the job done and fitting in with the overall pixel design language. Having a high resolution ui with the voxel style of the game creates a stark contrast which honestly doesnt fit in, unless its for like a heavily modded, texturepacked and raytraced version of the game. IMO your version of the item, health and xp bar creates too much of an obstruction with the dark theme, but its more readable than the original. For the equipment menu I think that having status bars displayed is not necessary, since you cant use any of the items without pinning them to your hotbar first. Instead I would reduce the background blur so that the stats are still visible, or make a gradient blur, with the bottom being less blurred than the top. Also the top part of the menu that stands out is kind of an eyesore, it would be more logical to extend the bottom to align with it, even if it would create white space. Or just decrease the size of the crafting portion so it aligns without any blanks. The game menu is an improvement though with how disorganized the original is, with the interest colors being a nice touch. One more thing I would nitpick on is the font. The sleek one you chose doesnt really compliment the fun and engaging spirit of the game, I would rather opt for something bolder with wider letters. Still though I like your take on it and love your memes on facebook lol. Take my feedback with a grain of salt, cheers mate.
Hey man first of all thanks for taking the time and writing such a long and detailed comment. I actually agree with most of what you said. I probably should have focussed on some of the actual things that are bad about minecrafts UI, like the alignment issues I touched on, as well as incosistencies in design language. I do think my design is more readable and user friendly but I agree that it loses some of its minecraft essence and doesn't really compliment the pixel art very nicely. The purpose of this video was more of a fun exercise and I'll be sure to take extra care should I ever redesign another game UI and turn this into a series. Thanks again for the feedback and welcome to the channel :)
I quite like this format!!! I see future here. I can think of many games that could use a good ol' UI rehaul. I'm down for every UI episode you make from here on :) Here's my 2 cents: though I enjoyed all the changes you made, I wish you had been bolder - changed some element more dramatically, changed the direction of things, changed the logic of things. It felt more like a cleanup than a redesign, and I'm interested in checking out your wildest, most radical ideas.
oh and here's a youtube focused tip: the title of your video and the first 20-50 words in your video's description are the real important ones for SEO (the tags are less important than people think). I'd rename the video something like "Minecraft UI redesign - Game UI/UX" or something like that to get better views. Also add a little paragraph talking about the video, and again using the opportunity to write all the important keywords like 'minecraft' 'UI' 'UX' 'menu' etc.
@@JoriamRamos Thanks! While the SEO is certainly important and I think you're right regarding those tips, I do also want to remain a clickable, unique title so I changed it up a slight bit. Gonna put the description before the links too. Thanks for the help!

Oh and thanks for being here and supporting the new channel! I agree that I could have been bolder with the redesign, next episode will be braver 😉
This is kinda the vibe I’m going for the with a resource pack I’m making except closer the feel closer to the windows 8 icon style
Thanks, now I know how to do it
personally I don't like modern UIs in general, I prefer the 2000s design with all the glossy things. but I think you did a good job on it
Hey i find this modern UI ultra nice may i implement the ui in my minecraft client like you desinged it
Can I have the file of the user interface?
can we dowload it ?
now make it a real texture pack to java and bedrock
Now actually put it in Minecraft!!!!
