Great video. Can't wait to see the testing vids on the grizzly with the new battery setup (72v). Want to see what kind of performance it has now compared to stock and compared with other ebikes. Great videos.
Awesome Grizzly's! Thanks for the link in your Brooklyn Tour Blog.... The heavier tires are well worth it. Are they high speed spin balanced? What's a maxed out 72V Grizz capable of? Talk about BEAST ! ! ! I blew a head gasket on my Kaw 1600 Vulcan Nomad outrunning a Ninja up around 135... But thats over 800 lbs of rocket sled! I can imagine the thrill of jetting around on one of these souped up e-bikes!
The tires themselves are rated for 112 mph. These were the nicest dual sport tires that could fit my wheels. In terms of a 72V Grizzly, with the 3kw motor and a higher amp controller (like a 100 or 150 amp) you can reach speeds close to 60 mph or even faster. A bigger battery is also recommended to compensate for the current.
My Grizzly has 2k miles on the ODO stock motor and controller. Man, when this thing breaks down, I'm going need to upgrade to 72v. Are there any long term reviews for these grizzly setups?
Be sure to check my site as I have the Grizzly full frame batteries and motor kits available. For the Grizzly, the 3kw or 5kw NB Power motors are ideal for the Grizzly - www.e-streetbikes.store/
If I wanted to do something like this eventually and wanted to start with a controller upgrade for my D-Class, what would you recommend? Or is this a sort of "you have to upgrade everything all at once" kind of deals?
Upgrading your controller will give you that small top speed increase but be limited based on the 1kw motor output and battery voltage. I've seen people still use a 1kw motor but upgrading their controller and battery to a 72V got them to top speeds of 40-45 mph. It's definitely up to you and how you want to ride. With the 3kw I feel you'll get the most out of your bike as far as overall performance goes. Plus you'll be able to keep up with the Surrons and beat the Onyx's 😉
@@e-streetbikes6381 Thanks for the reply! One of the things I've been struggling to wrap my head around is how to control two hub motors with one controller. Do you know where I could find more information to read up on this? Thanks again!
The best dual sport tire is a "Trials tire". These are designed to stick to wet slippery rocks and will glue you to pavement like nothing else. Shinko 241 is a trials tire.
It will be tough to mount on an x-class but I guess if you have some sort of rear rack in the back it could essentially work. The molicel packs are 21700.
And you guys tied both motors into one controller or are you running two controllers now ?to one throttle? And does the motor switch still work to only run one or the other?
So on the website if I buy the 29Ah Grizzly Full Frame Molicel 72V 300A BMS Battery is this just the battery or do I have to buy the bike itself and then get this
I got the 52 volt 1000/2000 watt metal gear motor Ariel Rider X and added a 52 volt 1000 watt front metal gear motor to my bike 36 mphr is fast enough 52 volt battery's are more affordable 20 amp hours each is great and with my battery tender trailer I can go on real long rides having five 20 amp hr. battery's all together is great
Tengo una grizzly v2 y me gustaría midificarla como la que tienes ahi . Me puedes ayudar con eso ? Y cuanto sera el costo. Gracias. Jose cortez fans de la grizzly.
so people are saying that grizzly is "unsafe" modded. Bike is not strong enough to handle power upgrades and faster top ends. What is your opinion with real first person experience?
The stock frame and welds hold up really well and I've had mine and JB has had his for almost 2 years. The one thing I will say is that torque arms on the rear bolts are absolutely necessary given the power of these motors.
@@e-streetbikes6381 interesting. I’ll have to check out torque arms.. not sure about those. I will want to mod mine in the future I mod all my toys thank you
@@e-streetbikes6381 are you selling the grizzly 72 volt complete kit? Does the front wheel still work with it? DIY at home installation or i have to bring it to you?
no, because the controller cannot handle that voltage. You can get a 52V molicel battery pack and with its high continuous current output, that will help with a reduction in voltage sag, which will feel like a more power. The stock batteries suck.
The battery will only provide the necessary current give the motor the power needed to reach higher speeds. You will need a higher amperage controller to really see the difference in mph.
I only sell the motor kit and battery upgrades for the Grizzly and other bikes. Although I'm planning on releasing my very own high-powered ebike which is coming soon!
As per another rider that has ridden it, they have gotten to 56 mph off a full charge. And yes, I believe the dropout size is the same as the Grizzly and X-Class so the motor will fit.
Love the colab with JB360. I gotta get on that brand ambassador vibe.

when upgrading an e-bike that was already an e-bike, should I buy a conversion kit? or just a motor, battery, and controller?

These are amazing. Can you retain the pedal assistance with the new motor and controller?
Not with the stock pedal assist but yes for the one that comes with the new kit.
That Grizzly look awesome. I would like to know if I just get the batteries would I increase my range and top speed?

What can I do to give my grizzly a little bit more power? Looking for something to plug and play or buy something to give it just a little more power

What sizes are you running with them front and back?
That front motor doesn't look plugged in. It is disabled in this build?
The customer decided to keep the front hub on to add more weight to the bike for higher speeds. I think he'll end up replacing after.
will the cannon rear rack battery fit on a X-Class? what cells do they use 21700 or 18650? thanks
It will be tough to mount on an x-class but I guess if you have some sort of rear rack in the back it could essentially work. The molicel packs are 21700.
Do both front and rear motors still function on the grizzly and are they still switchable using a switch?
No the dual motor function has been completely removed from the bike and all the power is coming from the new rear motor.
Are you guys in nj?
How much for a build for the red Grizzly? Just ballpark, I live in NY and interested in going 72 V.
You're looking anywhere between $3300 - $3500 for the full upgrade (50AH of Molicel, 3kw motor kit).
What watt was the rear hub on the grizzly and does both his motors work with his switch still?
We swapped the rear motor out completely so he's running 3kw in the rear now but he's keeping the front stock motor on for weight distribution.
And you guys tied both motors into one controller or are you running two controllers now ?to one throttle? And does the motor switch still work to only run one or the other?
