    Let's have some fun with this one everyone, it was a blast to make. Loved this time and my favorite Video Game Heroes going all Animation on Saturday Mornings. Please click the like, subscribe if you haven't and write a comment...I am damn good about getting back to almost every single one. Thank you. Oh, and can you name that famous Video Game Score as my Background Music? Would love to know if you know.

    Love the 80s video game cartoons. Also, dragon quest had an 80s cartoon called dragon warrior out in america and the odd mario spin-off king koopa's kool kartoons with bowser hosting cartoons.

    What killed going to the arcade for me was one day all the games were a quarter and literally the next they were $.50. 100% inflation overnight! (For all you pedantic people out there I am using literally... literally. Went to the mall after school on tuesday and games were $.25 and when we got to the arcade wednesday they were $.50.)

    • @GENXPERIENCE
      @GENXPERIENCE  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I am old enough to remember that they were 25 for a loooooooooooooooooong time...and then I remember them going to 50 and I thought, THIS BITES, lol. Agreed. Will do an an entire Arcade/VG Retrospective one day, and include that.

    Pole Position was the one I liked the most even though it really didn't have anything to do with the video game. I'm still mad that we never got toys from it.

      You may be a fan of that animation style for sure, since MOST of the others were western. I have to admit I love the cars from the cartoon version.

    We didn't know they were Mid - Low quality. There were fun at the time! Pac Man was the most influential, because they actually made the proto- SMB PacLand! (Also, Pre-Simpsons, notice?) Now it's non-canonical with a more sonic-like identity for Namco's Pac Man

    • @GENXPERIENCE
      @GENXPERIENCE  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course we didn't know their quality. They were often shoddy, but you can be both "cheesy" and awesome at the same time...especially when we were kids.

      Sounds like you starting your "experience" with the VG/Cartoon revolution around 1989. Those were the last 2 of that fantastic decade, with the others having been around much earlier. Still, you did experience it.

    Off the subject, but I wanted to recommend Retrowave Cinema channel. It's retrowave music linked with movies from the 80's. Many of these movies I completely forgot about. I'm sure many of you know about this channel, but I thought just in case many of you would enjoy it.

    It can be agreed Link's cartoon design is an accurate representation of his Zelda 2 sprite and even his fully grown design in Captain N is kinda cool.
    Zelda doesn't look too bad. Although it would've been better for her personality to be closer to what we see from Zelda 2. It may not be much, but her in-game personality seems more along the lines of a responsible former ruler (with the Zelda 1 Princess Zelda still being in charge after Zelda 2).

    • @GENXPERIENCE
      @GENXPERIENCE  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like your well thought interpretations. I was always surprised that people that animation was poor when there were things like DOnkey Kong Jr and Frogger (YIKES). I do like the design and SOME of the characterization of them in the cartoons. I would assume it is difficult to leverage much from the limited game play personality...but they didn't do HORRIBLE. Thank you so much for your comments, I appreciate them.

    The 1980s seem like they were a pretty woeful time for cartoon and anime adaptions of video games. Even to this day studios mostly struggle with the adaption process but that was generally worse back in this decade.
    Ironic how it seems like Pac-Man was the best attempt for the west back in that specific decade and it literally was the first ever attempt at a gaming cartoon.
    As for anime adaptions at the time, the best one was Super Mario Bros.: The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach!.

    • @tidepoolclipper8657
      @tidepoolclipper8657 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course once the 90s rolled around; Sonic SatAm easily became the best western gaming adaption at that point in time.
      As for anime, the best adaption became Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie.

    • @GENXPERIENCE
      @GENXPERIENCE  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'll give you that the animation was lackluster and simplistic to say the least. But we loved them for being cartoons of the video games....well most of them. Some were, as you say, WOEFUL.
