The 1989 is considered to be the most desirable year of early C4s. Some people like myself weren't fans of the 90 and up interior - although I do like bodywork on the 91 to 96 C4s.
The 95 is the absolute best year for the c4. Performance and reliability wise
@@YungEagle3k Actually the 96's offered a 330 hp LT4 on all manual equipped C4s for that year. Thirty horsepower isn't a whole lot of power over the garden variety LT1's (in fact you could match or exceed it with mild upgrades), but if we're comparing stock C4s to stock C4s, the LT4 has just enough to give it an edge over the previous C4s, excluding the LT5 ZR1s.
Other than the aforementioned LT4s for manual equipped C4s for 96, the only other appreciable difference between a 95 and a 96 is the federally mandated OBD-II engine management system.
As for your reliability claim, I'm calling BS on that. By the early to mid 90s, Chevrolet had the C4 Corvette pretty well sorted out. No appreciable difference in reliability with these final C4s.
For most it is just the opposite. 1990 was considered a huge interior up grade for the C4.
I bought a 1990 ZR-1 last May for 5k, needs some interior work and paint. You vette is very nice, 2k, no way, drive the wheels of her. It's kinda nice our C4s are cheap, a lot of performance per dollar is hard to beat. You can do a little tweaking on her and get respectable power. I'm enjoying mine it has 74k miles on her and it's on its way up, no way I'm letting her just sit, these cars were made to drive. 👍👍🏁🏁
I just traded a Harley for a 84 C4. High Miles but over all in nice shape!..you can't even touch a Corvette for two grand they are nuts!
I guessed $1500. Remember, Carmax is only buying a car in order to resell it at a profit, so they'll always come in pretty low. I have almost the same car (

This was my car in the 80's, and it still is which is why I decided to buy the c4 1984.It doe's my heart well to know your keeping your Corvette! The cars God's would be pleased! Keep driving, and picking up those hot chicks.
I'm getting a 1988 Chevrolet Corvette C4 with all sorts of modifications (a minimum of 350+ hp), might do a walk around video of it eventually. I plan on doing a complete restoration including a new paint job but i want to upgrade things (led lights, updated exterior body kit and interior dash panels, perforated leather seats, etc...).

I with you on the gain weight. My clothes have definitely become tighter. I have to visit the Dr here in a few weeks, and I can only imagine the lecture I am going to get from here. It's September now, and you posted this in Jun, so hopefully you have gotten back into your previous habits. But if not, don't sweat it. If losing weight is one of our main problems, then there are those far worse off than us.

Not at all surprised by that, when I took my 95 to them, they only offered me 1700 (if I remember correctly). Also, nice style on the vid, loved the opening shot as I have done that a few times on my videos as well! Fun watch, keep up the good work!

Seems about right. I just bought a mint 94 6 speed for 5k. Ultra low miles. Beautiful C4 though! Got to just drive and enjoy.

Carmax doesn’t want to buy your car. They want you to donate it to them. I’m sure they would love to get your car for $2000. I understand they have to make money but come on.
On a car that old they would not sell it at CarMax. They would send it directly to auction and it would be wholesaled out. I am thinking 5k is what the offer will be. Sorry to hear you are stressed. I have been struggling with depression since this whole Quarantine Lockdown thing started. Best thing to do to mitigate it is to try and build even closer connections with friends than maybe you had in the past. At least that is how I have approached it.
Being British we hardly ever see Corvettes and to think of driving one..a C3, 4 ,or 5...all gorgeous cars..for 2 grand I'd bite your arm off. Its obviously worth more. That being said C4 and C5 are pretty cheap considering what you get..its a great value sports car..the best for the money.
Yep hard to find them in UK there's a 7500 GBP one for sale a clean black c4 with minor modifications on AutoTrader Targa top, it's nice but honestly could probably just get a 370z for that much over here
I think you have to look on forums and owners clubs to find a c5 or c4 for a good price
Was going to say $4k because they want to make a deal. C4's are worth less than a similar year Z28 or TransAM and 3rd Gen F bodies get no respect either. I sold my '94, every option but two tops because it was black, even working ride control with 60k miles for $9k even. The local Mazda dealer offered me $4k on a new C9.
WOW!!!!! I wish to buy a Corvette for that price!! Last year I bought in Norway my C4 89 for a something around 18 000 dollars!!! Car is in a similar condition as Yours...but these are the prices what we need to pay in Europe for a good American classics

At 2:36 the speedo is at 78 nearly at its top. Will it change its scale then? As my speedo with the metric scale goes to 260 kmh or so (which is ~160mph).

I believe what Carmax was saying (you have to read between the lines) is that they did not want your Corvette unless they could make an indecent profit rapidly. That Porsche at 62000. will sit there for a while ! In Canada 1989's in good shape go for around 10000. CDN which is about 6500. USD. There are so many C4's around that the secret is to find a creampuff; you'll end up with a super fun car to drive and they are more reliable than Italian supercars and easier to fix.
About 5 years ago I took my 1997 Cobra convertible to CarMax. It was a 2 owner car, 49,000 miles, Pacific Green with tan top and interior. Perfect car, even had the SVT birth certificate. My offer was $5,800....I laughed and got up to leave. The salesman said, " we would just wholesale it.. It's an old car and that's what it's worth." A week later I had a $9,500 in cash in my hand from a private buyer. CarMax is a scam.

_The price for this car was bottom end wholesale. As with any car dealer across the country, unless you're trading a car in(especially a Corvette), don't bother getting an appraisal, because they'll see you coming! And I've bought new cars and trucks over my 62 years(and yes, I've even traded in a Corvette or two)._

I own a mint condition 2000 Cadillac Deville DHS. Watching this video kind of got me thinking about taking it in and getting an appraisal myself until I read a few comments saying how they’d never actually sell a car that old on their lot.
Kinda takes alot of potential money off the offer..

I collect original Cadillac car brochures.. I have an insane collection dating back to 1904. I’ve spent some ridiculous coin on my collection, literally thousands of dollars.. I remember thinking about it once like “omfg I could’ve bought a really nice used Cadillac with the money I’ve spent so far”!🤦🏻♂️

Yea they have to make a profit and you looked up retail prices. I'm shocked they said 2k I was thinking $1500 at best. They aren't going to sell your car because they can't warranty it. What they did was send out images and details to dealers who bid on cars that are traded. They really drove what offer you got.

Any ideas on where to get c4 seats reupholstered with real leather ? I've seen the faux leather online but know nothing about that product. Anyone out there know of any corvette coast to coast runs ? Even with this pandemic, with precautions, a run could be done. I.M.O.
It looks like a $4000 car so I would say 2K is about right. They would put it on their lot at 6K and probably sell for 5. C4 vettes unless they are in mint condition or certain models struggle to get over 10K in the market.

@@ReynoldsRides I keep a close eye on the Corvette market. I could point you to a near mint 95 6 speed that is going unsold for 5K . It needs a motor and that is all it needs. For some reason a rod let go.

First in your vidio. Your parking must have destroyed your front air dam. when buying any C4- forget mileage, look at condition and any maintenance records.
