    This should be a must-watch for all new C4 owners. I don't have a C4, but your staging, camera work, and pacing are excellent and kept me watching to the end. Well done!

    I take off crus control to get battery out. One thing to know when a shop works on you vette they like to keep you spare and your jack so alway check when you get your car back because a few weeks later it harder to prove

    On my 86 C-4 there is a bracket at the rear of the center console for the roof ratchet to fit into.

    It'd probably be good to add a small set of fuses kept in a old pill bottle or something. Maybe a pair of gloves, electrical tape, and zipties too. I like to carry some plastic bags in my toolkits for putting fasteners/parts in because they pack down far easier than a magnet tray and the C4 has so many weird small screws.

  • @davidsafely732
    @davidsafely732 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I use a socket and long extension for the batter hold down, instead of the open end wrench. It's a much faster option. There is a Battery Lug ratchet you might want to add, because of the tight clearance issues. It also takes up less space and works much faster than a box end or open end wrench. So overall, this was a well done video. I'm a teacher, so you kept it simple, direct and good visuals. I do not have the hood tool, but I will be getting one. Thanks!!!

    I’d highly recommend the following 2 items :
    -Battery jumper power pack
    -a fire extinguisher
    In addition I found the hood opening tool cumbersome and have opted to add independent pull cables connected to latch and tucked away accessible by wipers.( I used coated guitar strings but have seen others fab their own or use zip ties) - this eliminates the need for the hood opening tool.

    • @jshoneycutt2012

      Good advice on the fire extinguisher. Did you find a mounting solution? Or is it just tucked away somewhere? THX

    On the early c4s you should definitely remove the battery by moving everything above the battery out of the way. It's very easy to end up breaking the body panel that is next to the battery if you don't do everything perfectly.

    Order up a set of Factory Shop Manuals along with any electrical/diagnostic supplements. Most [if not all] are available on CD.
    Also, make sure you have ah owner's manual.

    Good advice on the tools , I need to follow it . Your correct about the previous owner not retaining the center cap removal tool . There is a place for it in the console and it's T shaped and it incorporates a lip , such as a paint can removal tool , to aid in leveraging off the center caps .

    Not sure if they are factory or not, but my saw blade wheels have key bolts that hold the center caps on and require a special tool to remove. In addition, the tool has a little prying end to pop out the center caps. I didnt know there was a Corvette tool for the top! I need one now lol

  • @yokoshemp
    @yokoshemp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nope... I carry none of that extra stuff. Put "road service" on my car. The roof tool is in the console along with a pair of cheap gloves as the roof can be very hot. I have the glass panel and that durn thing gets untouchable hot. Drive my '94 vette daily in the summer... and drive it hard!
