  • Today I’m on the Nukeproof Reactor and I did the red route and checked out the new optional loop, along with the new blue route diversion/ re-route.
It’s great that the trail builders have been able to build new sections and I think it’s made an improvement to the blue, extending it a bit and adding some miles.
The optional red is just that, optional, there are a couple of nice fast bits including some tight bends and so if you’ve got a bit of extra time, well worth adding to your run.
I probably won’t ride them every week, in favour of using the time to session likes of Tornado Alley or the bike park, but each to their own, that’s what I like - others will like putting the miles in (probably why I’m huffing and puffing my way around this week).

A fair video. Riding a analog as apposed to an ebike, would be different. But plenty of shade under the trees, on hot days.

Is that so you have somewhere to wait for us analog bikers?

Sherwood is my local trail I’ve been most weeks for years. The “red” is far to easy I think I needs some work with more features. I’m not sure what actually makes it a “red” but I feel the red a Sherwood pines is more of a blue route

Agreed, quite a lot tamer than other reds in the country isn’t it. The most fun bits ironically are the flow sections which would definitely be a blue elsewhere.
We need some more elevation and more rocks… the elevation one is tricky mind.

@@banzaibikes the thing I like is how there’s lost of potential in the forest with room for improvement. I think if you had the features of Cannock with the terrain of Sherwood it would be one of the best ones in the country
