I think this was from shortly before he retired due to medical issues, I miss him in country music, they've been putting out some ai generated stuff recently, but I haven't tried listening to it yet.
I love Digging up Bones. My voice nowadays can't support any higher ranges so I pick lower range songs for karaoke. This is my fave to sing, I even change the pronouns, lol. Really appreciate your reactions. I'm so glad to have found you thru Black Pegasus. Thank you darlin', please keep reacting. You're very insightful and interesting.
As a teenager in the 80’s Randy Travis was one of only four artists my sister, my parents, and I could agree on. The others were Elton John, Billy Joel, and the late, great Kenny Rogers. This is one of the songs that make me homesick. Gives me bittersweet memories of having parents. I thought they walked on water. Thanks for reacting
I love this song. It was playing when we were driving to tell my grandma my grandpa died. Down an old road at 3:00 in the morning. Song evokes so many memories.
How many people nowadays, can even say they ever met or know the name(s) of their great grandparents? I can and I knew one of them personally. He gave me my lifelong nickname too. He lived with my Daddy's mother six doors down from me. I cried my eyes out at age 5, when he died. Love this song. Thank you for the reaction.
@@Renee-Suzanne I did. My great grandfather was elderly when my dad was a little boy and when I was born, he was well into his 90s. I can remember him talking about riding in wagons, the Land Runs in Oklahoma and living in sod houses. Photos of him really remind me of the man in the original video for this song.
I actually knew the names of all four and grew up until my teens with my mom’s grandparents. In fact my great grandmother asked for me on her death bed. She had so many great grandchildren but she wanted me. I just walked up to her room when my dad got me and I just said, I’m here. Now, that I’m thinking of it, something similar happened with my grandfather, her son. I was super close with him! I was super close to my mom’s side of family.
Randy Travis was an amazing singer. With or Without remembering the words of your song... but Randy made it easy breezy... just by blowing thru it with Grace and Profession. Randy Travis praying 4 ya
You should react to Jon pardi singing this, Randy surprised him and he broke down in tears mid song.. such a good video. Really shows how much of a legend Randy is in country music
This played at my grandfather funeral. I can't listen to this song anymore without getting emotional. I'm 32 lost my grandpa at 16. I've have lived half my life without my grandpa now. Time doesn't heal, it allows you to deal with the pain
Check out Randy's "Promises". He's talking about his great grandpa. My grandpa has been gone over 30 years and I still miss our conversations and, yes, I thought he walked on water. At least he was honest about his forgetfulness.
God Bless Randy Travis. He had a stroke many years ago and he can barley talk and he can't sing anymore. If you've never heard it Three Wooden Crosses is a MUST!
You want to talk about a Country Voice.. Randy had it.. But, unfortunately, Randy had a problem with the bottle.. like many country stars back in the day did. It's crazy he's still alive.. but I love his voice.
I sawca special using all of his songs they were able to use AI to recreate his voice and they are putting out a new album with his truly distinctive voice. When i saw the version you were watching, i knew this was the one he forgot a verse. Wanted to see your response!
Can you give a link for this video?!? (asking anyone here). It's one of my favorite songs and I can't find this version on YT. I'm not religious, but I love Randy Travis. Dude. You would LOVE (ok you might; he is sort of psychedelic too) Sturgill Simpson. Do Sturgill's "Turtles All the Way Down." Same kind of voice. And a really good dude.
Personally, I would like to hear you do a cover of this song. But if you was to cover this.... better sing it like you mean it cause them are some big boots to fill. That said, I believe you could do it.
The part he forgot
He was 90 years old in 63
And i loved him and he loved me
Lord i cried the day he died
Cause i thought
That he walked on water
I was hoping it would come back to him and they'd recover, but TV has strict time controls.
My favorite part of the song.
Sign of a True Professional.... He just acknowledged it and moved forward without getting flustered......
I think this was from shortly before he retired due to medical issues, I miss him in country music, they've been putting out some ai generated stuff recently, but I haven't tried listening to it yet.
@@arthurzander5500 I Haven't listened to any of the AI Music either...... Sounds like a Bad Idea/Thing......

One of the great Country voices ever!✌🏼❤️🎶
That song reminds me of my grandpa
Back when I hated country music, I adored Randy Travis, one of the countriest sounding singers. Go figure. 💜💜💜
Thank you. My very favorite Randy Travis song. The video is powerful!
Randy is a treasure
Randy Travis was an amazing singer. With or Without remembering the words of your song... but Randy made it easy breezy... just by blowing thru it with Grace and Profession.
Randy Travis praying 4 ya
He's singing about his great grandfather !!
Sadly, Randy's career was cut short by a stroke.
You should react to Jon pardi singing this, Randy surprised him and he broke down in tears mid song.. such a good video. Really shows how much of a legend Randy is in country music

I'm sorry for your loss and I agree
I miss seeing Randy Travis in person. He was an amazing performer.
You MUST listen to Randy Travis “Three Wooden Crosses”
This tune, although not about my grandfather, this is the type of things my late Father would do!
To me, this describes my Father!
One of my all time favorites from Randy Travis.
His great grandfather 😉
Great Grand Dad👍
Just found your channel and after watching a few reactions, I had to sub.
You are a very entertaining person👌👍🔥
"My mommas daddy was his oldest son" his great grandpa
Check out Randy's "Promises". He's talking about his great grandpa. My grandpa has been gone over 30 years and I still miss our conversations and, yes, I thought he walked on water. At least he was honest about his forgetfulness.
The part where he forgot the lyrics was human AF. I didn't even make it. He did a great job at saving the moment
One of the greatest story tellers Gordon Lightfoot his song The Wreck of The Edmond Fitzgerald. Based on a true event 1975.
Randy had a stroke and almost died. He was brave to do that song in front of a live audience.
The Great grandad math turned into uncle killed me 😂
God Bless Randy Travis. He had a stroke many years ago and he can barley talk and he can't sing anymore. If you've never heard it Three Wooden Crosses is a MUST!
He is singing of a great grandfather.
Great Grandfather
He may have been beginning to get ill at this point. 😢
Great grandpa

Forever and ever Amen another good one

This song is 99.9% my pawpaw except for the starched white shirt. He was the sweetest man.
The official video is very good.
Randy does a duet with Josh Turner that’s really good
Said he's only son...not oldest son, LOL
No, he was correct. He’s singing about his great grandfather.
His great grandfather.
My mama's daddy was his oldest son - it's his great grandfather
Jamey Johnson song In Color

I would recommend (A Man Ain't Made Of Stone) by Randy Travis
He's saying he's Grandpa was as old as the sun
This song reminds me of my dad
He has a ton of hits!! He was at the top & had I believe, a stroke. But he left a ton of good music! Try... Three Wooden Crosses!!
Can you give a link for this video?!? (asking anyone here). It's one of my favorite songs and I can't find this version on YT.

Or
The Kinks song Lola
Conway Twitty Please
No place more comfortable to mess up on the songs, then the opry!
Personally, I would like to hear you do a cover of this song. But if you was to cover this.... better sing it like you mean it cause them are some big boots to fill. That said, I believe you could do it.
