It's funny, when I was in my teens I liked these songs but didn't get much of an emotional reaction. In my 40s songs like this get the water works going.
Oh man, I couldn't finish the song. My wife battled breast cancer last year, and I remember having the same conversation with God, begging him not to take my girl. My prayers paid off! We just celebrated 25 years together! ♥️🙏
Which is just story retcon. Without the video you don’t get that, meaning if it was intended it woulda been in the audio and isn’t. Reality is she dies
always liked the song and video. i disagree with the other reply that says she died. he song leaves it open. although the last line either reflects how the events started or a new start with his son going fishing(you decided if the mom is there)
@@coreyrees840 You can't just say the *OFFICIAL* video is a retcon and then proclaim your interpretation is what actually happened when it isn't based on anything. The progression of the song always including the "same sweet girl" with Johnny means she almost certainly survived, Johnny always got what he needed even if it isn't what he wanted at first.
Tim's song My Little Girl i sang for my daughter when she was born, she is about to turn 18 in feb, and one day if she marries ill sing it at her wedding
This masterpiece of a song was written by my friend Craig J. Martin here in Nashville (RIP 2019). Huge hit for both Craig and Tim. We miss ol’ Craig around here. He left behind a beautiful 10 year old red-headed daughter
Few years back I saw a video of a young boy in high school. He was upset with everyone in school wearing their headphones the wrong way so that their music was blasting to everyone in the hallways. They were playing primarily rap/hip-hop music. And the kid was a fan of such music. But to get back at everyone at school he started blasting this song in the hallways. As the weeks went by he started to like the song. Originally listened to "meme" everyone. But the story and emotion made the young man a legitimate fan. Things like that give me hope in humanity.
I'm so beyond blessed .. I almost lost my life with my first son in 1988... it wasn't pretty.. I got pregnant with my second son in 1999.. I gave birth on 12/31/99... Almost died with him too.. I just remember telling my husband.. save our son..and I remember my husband with tears coming down his eyes because my doctor had the hit the Stat Button.. she's was losing both me and my child and my husband was crying.. I'm so blessed.. that son will be 25 on New Year's Eve this year and I'm still here as his Mom.. Everyone needs to know that Mom's and babies can die during child birth... and when they don't.. you are blessed.
Tim is such a great storyteller! I think country music has surprised most everyone who strictly listens to rap music! BP being one of them! I love to see it! ❤
🙌🙌🙌 One of the most touching songs ever.. Tim's great at that.. His Wife (The famous Country Artist Faith Hill) Is also quite amazing and together they made THE Best Country/Love song in existence, hands down, in my opinion... "It's You're Love"
Live Like You Were Dying ( about his father Mets Pitcher Tug McGraw) , Humble and Kind (worked with Oprah on video), My Little Girl ( about his 3 daughters) all a must reaction.
If you like this then checkout these other hits of his: “Live Like You Were Dying” & “Where the Green Grass Grows”. Another country artist that can story tell in his music was Randy Travis “Three Wooden Crosses”.
Endearing and enduring too. That is the power of narrative, or put more simply, the power of a good story. History is really "His Story" according to my grandmother back in the 1970's. Sadly, a lot of " current music" is lacking story and often anything uplifting to the human spirit.
In the music video for this song, the very end he's sitting with the "baby" (older) and his wife/the mom is running towards them with a picnic basket.. Assuming she lived and was ok ❤
My favorite singer, Try Humble and Kind , Indian Outlaw , Live like you were dying and so many others like Southern Girls . Go down that rabbit hole and you won't be disappointed
Ya'll know the girl didn't die. Everyone always thinks she died. But the last scene of the video shows her running with their son at the picnic they were having.
You may want to check out Garth Brooks We Shall Be Free video. Garth Brooks and a young lady helped him write this song song We Shall Be Free was written right after that LA riot.
It's definitely worth going down the Tim McGraw rabbit hole The other ones that a lot of reactors do of his are: Live like you were dying, Humble and kind, If you're reading this. And they do these songs for a reason cuz they're awesome. I can list you probably 20 songs but I won't do that I'll just give you five of my faves. Where the green grass grows Everywhere Just to see you smile my best friend Please remember me.
You should check out Carrie Underwood's video song called "2 Black Cadillacs" you will want to use the actual video, because it's like a mini film,With great country music storytelling. Truly, it is so good I think you'll really enjoy it Plus Carrie underwood's vocals are next level
***LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYING*** a story ya gotta here!***IT'S YOUR LOVE*** (do it with wifey, duet with his wife) ***I LIKE IT, I LOVE IT***, ***JUST TO SEE YOU SMILE***, ***REAL GOOD MAN ***, ***INDIAN OUTLAW***(fun...surprised it ain't outlawed and cancelled. haha let's do it!)
This one gets me every time, while i didn't know my husband growing up, this came out not long after our second son was born, we almost didn't make it. In fact OBJ/GYN told me please don't get pregnant again, your body can't handle it & your kids need you. I listened & my youngest is now 34.
Country is slept on these days. It's good at telling stories and can definitely make you feel many different things. If you want to react to something that will definitely make you feel some sort of way then check out "Alyssa lies".
A couple songs u might like to listen to with ur wife that he does with his wife Faith Hill, they're country royalty, is "The Rest of Our Life" and "Shotgun Rider".
you should really watch the video for this if you think it touches your heart listening to it this way it would really tug at your heart strings watching the video makes me cry every time. Enjoy.❤
I don't know why I watched this one. A year and a half ago I lost my s.o. to suicide. Two days ago my sister got diagnosed with breast cancer. Fuck this song always hit hard but I'm here balling like a child right now.
First vid ive seen that wasnt "use b.soda&vinegar with boiling water. Been at this 4 awhile. Plumbers finally came and went but the shit is still not draining properly. They did loosen the thingy tho so i can drain it now but its not in the pipes, the blockage is deep in the wall. Looks like beige clay. it smells like something chemical its mushy whrn wet but dries hard and can pinch it to soft dust. donno the scent its fresh but not familiar. like a cedar- type of minty- but not. doesnt stink like something gross and theres no hair, no gunk. only seems 2 gurgle and blurp when i plug the overflow hole and plug it 4 a sec then lets it go. still cant let wa/er run to brush teeth or wash face or even hands. they said they will come back with draino if it s
That song is so powerful. I remember as a little boy listening to it when my mom would play it. Now as an adult it has so much more meaning. Having a little 7.5month old baby, idk what I would do if something happened to his momma. It’s sad but it def can happen! Not a fan of this live version though.
Man i forgot how this song hits back in 2018 i got my girlfriend pregnat.she had a miss carrage a few months later we got engaged.a little later she had a accident.maby a month later i was on the phone with her she was fealing weird.i woke up in the morning to a phone call she had a blood clot it took my whole world from me.this made me think of us
30 years later that song still makes me cry!
Same here
It's funny, when I was in my teens I liked these songs but didn't get much of an emotional reaction. In my 40s songs like this get the water works going.

At the very least I get sweaty eyeballs when I hear it. Every once it hits harder and makes me ugly cry 😭

God bless.

I'm a grown ass man, and every time i hear this song, i can't help but put myself in the guys shoes, and it brings a tear. Every time
Blessed is the man who leaks from the eyes from time to time, for he will never get a swollen head,

Another great song by Tim McGraw is "Live Like You Are Dying".
The official video shows the husband and wife taking their son fishing, so God granted his prayers.
Which is just story retcon. Without the video you don’t get that, meaning if it was intended it woulda been in the audio and isn’t. Reality is she dies

Back in the 90's these types of country songs were called "time lapse tearjerkers"
Tim's song My Little Girl i sang for my daughter when she was born, she is about to turn 18 in feb, and one day if she marries ill sing it at her wedding
Tim, Humble and Kind. Also good one to check out
Older one
Indian Outlaw.
Yeah the official video shows a lot more and makes this song show what the words are being sung.
Tim is one of the greatest. Just wait for the next verses.
This masterpiece of a song was written by my friend Craig J. Martin here in Nashville (RIP 2019). Huge hit for both Craig and Tim. We miss ol’ Craig around here. He left behind a beautiful 10 year old red-headed daughter
The turn of phrase in this song. Love how everytime he begs it's the same phrase yet completely different meaning. One of my favorites

This is a great song that always requires a tissue. I also love "Humble and Kind" from Tim McGraw.

I’m bawling, and I’ve known this song since it came out. I loved 90s country ( most 90s music was amazing). 💖🙏🏻💔
You have to do his song “Humble and Kind”. It will warm your heart! Love your reaction!
Growing up i heard this song on repeat and still know every word but that doesn't stop the tears
